We stopped here on our way driving to Ohio. It's in a big spread out shopping plaza surrounded by chain stores. We've never seen this chain restaurant before, I don't think we have them in New England. My veggie burrito was good and my boyfriend liked his chicken burrito. The beans and rice are vegetarian, so don't worry about lard/chicken stock. Their vegan options are the same as a Chipotle. I like how they make the tortillas on-site, that pressing machine is pretty neat to watch! My only complaints are that it's more expensive than Chipotle even though it's almost the same thing. I also had to pay extra for the guacamole (which was very good guac) which is usually free in veggie burritos at other places. The grilled veggies were ok but could have been more exciting - possibly introduce other veggies like carrots, eggplants, to the mix? My boyfriend said his chicken was much more milder than what he gets at Chipotle. We couldn't find any hot sauces or limes to add to our burritos after we checked out, like you can do at Chipotle or Qdoba. The guy making our food didn't seem to know too much about the ingredients in the food. So yeah it's not as good as your local joint, but it's a chain and for that it was satisfying. read more

Food is alright but service is HORRIBLE. We came in at 9:30 and were told they were closing in 15 minutes ( the sign says 10pm) There were still people in the restaurant. Then when we ordered almost everything has an extra charge (extra for queso extra for sour cream extra for guacamole) and even when you do pay extra you don't get much. They swept behind the food station while we were ordering. Really?? Just wait until we're done. The I can only assume manager was very snippy with us. He would huff and look at the clock and mutter in Spanish. I haven't been treated so rudely in a very long time. Then they over charged us when we asked for a side of queso. There are apparently two sizes, however, On the board it only has one size listed at 1.25. We were charged over $2.00. When confronted they just said "this is what we give." No apology. Also, they were cleaning the place while we were still eating. The smell of cleaner was overpowering and gave a few people a headache. At 9:55 we were told to leave the building when some of us were still eating. One member of the party said "that's too bad" another mentioned that they weren't actually closed yet. I've heard it described as a rip off of the much more successful Chipotle chain...Can't speak to that as I've never been to a Chipotle, but I will say that I went there with my aged parents once and even they commented on how disappointing it was. The meats were on the dry side and lacking distinct flavor. The chicken tasted a lot like the steak which tasted a lot like the carnitas, just slightly different textures. The flour tortillas are on the sweeter side - not full on sugary, but not spiced or bland. The white queso has the consistency of melted American cheese and has a kick of spice to it. Their corn chips are made of blue corn, or dyed to look like it, as they're a dark shade of purple. The chips also have a crumbly texture to them. Think of the difference between tempered glass shattering and non-tempered glass. It's more like tempered glass. Place seems pretty slow every time we're in here. Staff members are not rude, but aren't radiating cheerfulness either. Sticky floors and dirty handles and surfaces at restaurants are huge pet peeve of mine - this place had both. read more

The service is mostly impatient and unfriendly. My first time here I had never been to this style of restaurant and had no idea how I was supposed to order. The seemed to not want to deal with me and impatient when I was indecisiveness. (It was not rush hour, it was almost dead) Other times I have been there and service is great, friendly and joking around. June 18,2021 at 3Pm. I would give this place zero stars if possible. I ordered two tacos and they were so small. On top of that a worker put the guacamole on the foil, it was barely on the taco. One worker was adding my toppings and was practically throwing them on. Another one of the workers dropped something on the floor and picked it up and did not wash her hands after doing so, mind you she was coughing while doing this, maskless. The food is sooooo good here! The problem is though that they put cilantro in their rice. If someone can't eat cilantro and gets a burrito, it's super tiny and if you add meat to try and fill it up there's an up-charge. The prices are very high to begin with and then to be charged extra for more is insane. I used to live in San Jose California. There were several "mom and pop" tex/Mexican places around that always delivered a great meal and good atmosphere. Panchero's is my East Coast replacement for those San Jose places. The food is great, the portions are more than generous. The prices are quite reasonable. When we go to the theater in the nearby complex, we go to Pancheros first, for dinner. I love this place and will always come back for more. read more

DO NOT GO HERE!! My wife and I walked in and was rushed through the line and did not feel welcome at all. The Service was terrible and the workers barely spoke English. Plus not to mention it's outrageously overpriced, Two burritos and two drinks cost $22 !! But here's the best part! Food is good. Generally fresh, I get steak and chicken, sometimes tofu, mostly in a bowl sometimes a burrito. Food is definitely better than Chipotle or Moe's. But like others have said this is about the staff not the food. The two star average on Yelp is well earned, staff is not polite, and not being nitpicky, it's a fast food joint, but they're miserable and rude. Today I was in line and rather than finish my bowl, the one guy spent 2-3 minutes ignoring me to talk to some obnoxious kids that musta been friends of his behind me in line. Legit ignored me and had a convo while I waited to get my bowl finished. It was only after one of his co-workers told him he was ignoring me he begrudgingly finished. The menu is garbage and overpriced. The dining area is often dirty and littered with leftover trash, and the staff just seems downright disinterested. The only redeeming thing used to be the chips and queso, which were out of this world, but the recipe seems to have been tweaked, and it's watery and too spicy now. I cannot believe all of the negative reviews about PANCHEROS!! I am kind of a burritohaulic, seriously I need to get a burrito once a week or I am just not zen. Due to my addiction, I have plenty of experience with Moe's, Chipotle, Qdoba, Baja Fresh, Mad Mex as well as many privately owned restaurants ranging from tex-mex to authentic Mexican. The fresh tortilla shells are far superior to any pre-made shells I have tasted. The ingredients are always very fresh! I would not say this place is overpriced either based on the freshness of their food vs other chains. They bob (mix everything up) the burrito before wrapping so you have an even distribution of ingredients throughout. One point to add, I overall prefer Tex-Mex to authentic Mexican (which could lead to difference of opinion) I am also Vegan so my opinion on what makes a restaurant great is very different from the general population. read more

Definitely go here if you want to learn spanish insults and expletives. The workers here are immature, spanish speaking teenagers who are downright vile. These kids were having a blast insulting and laughing very loudly while serving their customers. The poor ladies in front of me were fat shamed, while another old man was called numerous expletives in spanish. He wasnt doing anything other than standing in line! A lot of americans have some basic spanish knowledge so i was shocked at the workers' audacity. It was not my place to confront these people, so I grew disgusted and just left the line. The food was okay for the price. Lunch for 2 was $21 - no complaints there. The staff was disappointing and it was clear there was no trained or engaged management on site during our visit. The individual with a different colored shirt (the manager?) was more interested in chatting in the corner than overseeing the staff activities. Distracted and disrespectful servers coupled with a dirty men's room, dirty tables and trash receptacles overflowing have ensured we will not be going back. This place is OK - a step up from typical fast food when you're on a road trip. It's a Chipotle-style type of place where they make it in front of you. I like that they have a burrito bowl option, which can be healthy depending on what you put in it. I got a burrito and wanted grilled veggies, AND chicken. Because of that, it ended up being $10 something instead of $6 something. It was incredibly drippy and messy. Didn't hold together too well, but it was still good.
