LOVE Panera!! They do get busy so I recommend using the app to order ahead for pick up or delivery but so glad we finally got a Panera here!

We went there yesterday, the portions are getting smaller. The restaurant provided 1 napkin. When we ask for more, they said they didn't have anymore. We spent over $35. We only get 1 napkin? Holy crap. Do not eat here!!!! THE WORST EATING PLACE I HAVE EVER BEEN TO!!!! If I could rate at zero or less that zero I would!!!! Ordered a turkey bacon sandwich and a half southwest chicken salad, and two bagels. $25 for the order. $25!!!!! It isn't about the money to me, but to everyone else I'm sure it is. 1. I asked for no tomatoes on the sandwich, I got tomatoes. 2. I asked for the sandwich to be heated on the press, I got a cold as ice sandwich. 3. I ordered a whole sandwich entree only, I received a small whole sandwich with two thin slices of turkey for $9.98. 4. The half salad had what would amount to one half slice of thin turkey chopped, an regular salad stuff. $8.98. For that amount of money, I was expecting a large sandwich, and a sizable salad. I am not an out to breakfast fan generally. I make pretty yummy breakfast food myself. However, my daughter really wanted to try the breakfast menu the other day. We were greeted with a smile and served fairly quickly. If you're not familiar with Panera, they make the food as it's ordered, so this isn't "fast" food. It's fresh. I had the Bacon, Egg, and Asiago Cheese Bagel. It was large. Larger than I was expecting. I'm not a fan of chewy bacon, so I was very happy to see the bacon was crispy! The sandwich was delish! We love Panera Bread so we were very excited when Panera opened in Midland. Sadly, the Midland Panera Bread is not the Panera Bread we are used to. The staff is extremely loud and involved in their own conversations and seem unconcerned about the customers. The restaurant is extremely cold and there is no outdoor seating. Hopefully they will change some things! read more

I was so excited to finally get Panera Bread here. And then I went and my tortellini was burnt on the bottom. The bread was burnt. The pastries were dry. Hopefully this is because they're just busy, but still very disappointed. I'll give it a try again on a week day and see if it improves. read more

This is the ABSOLUTE worst Panera I have ever been to. WORST! Being a fan of Panera bread and routinely trying to eat as healthy as I can on the go, I was thrilled to death to have Panera come to Midland. BUT NOT ANYMORE. The service is horrendous. The portions are unacceptably pathetic. When you spend $50 dollars on a few sandwiches and soup. It better be incredible. My mother was served her tomato soup with a ridiculously filthy spoon that had lipstick smears and potato soup all over it! My sons Mac and cheese was cold. My sandwich was 98% bread. The tea and lemonaid were terrible. I had to wait for a manager for 15 minutes to complain and they made absolutely no attempt to compensate me for ANYTHING. They even forgot to replace our spoon until I asked again. DO NOT GO HERE. When speaking with the manager her response was simply. "I gotchu". So aside from halfway decent service at what is supposed to be a healthy eating environment, the management didn't even have the time to offer a few extra syllables in replacement of a terrible meal experience. read more

first- im a huge panera fan and my wife and i look forward to visiting cities with them. that said the midland location is NOT your typical panera. frankly its bad. the service is horrible with the employees not knowing their own menu. we took a friend over and she asked what was is a sandwich and the girl looked at her for a good 3 mins and never responded...wth?! we went ahead and ordered our food, when your sandwich with chips and a drink you get a pastry at 99 cents, this person charged us 2.89(i think- threw that receipt away) each. i didnt notice until i got my receipt and was really frustrated already. i pointed it out asked about the pricing. the girl was really annoyed and told me we never said anything while she was ringing it up. ITS OUR JOB?!?! no its YOURS! that said she said she would ask someone then proceeded to be really crappy with the next guest. she never told us to wait or what to do until then she just helped other people over us. feeling really awkward we sat ourselves and our food arrived. MEH. usually panera has no issues with portions but this panera is the exception. i ordered the sandwich with chicken and avocado. i got a smear of avocado with a few anemic strips of chicken. so really my sandwich was all bread. ive had this meal before in other locations so i know that its not supposed to be this way. at this point im done with this place. a worker passed by our table and i stopped him to see if he could check on the status of our pastry issue. he was very polite and went up front to ask. the girl rolled her eyes looked at us and told him she would work on it. he relayed the message and said the manager had to be involved. about 5 mins later manager is there with the girl and gives the guy(i stopped) the money to give to us. we thanked our guy and left. also flies on the pastry and bread- enjoy NEVER AGAIN. this place is NOT representative of the panera brand. read more

I went to the Midland location and they didn't have the two kinds of bread that is featured on the breakfast menu. If you have the word bread in your name you should make sure that you have what is on the menu. This location is poorly managed this isn't the first time they were out of things. read more

This location is hit or miss on service and quality. Their Bistro French Onion soup is never served with cheese or croutons when ordered through the drive-thru, stale French bread, carbonated beverages lacking in flavor, etc. The restaurant is dirty. It's as if they've hired the B-team. Very disappointing. read more

if you are serving beverages in West Texas, two words. REVERSE OSMOSIS! I ordered a raspberry tea and ended up tasting it almost to spit it out! It tasted like sweet dirt. My friend and I went there last night and both ordered mac & cheese. Both orders came out ice cold! I took them up to the register area to complain and stood there for a while looking for an employee to help. I had to interrupt an employee conversation to get help. I told the girl at the register that our mac & cheese was ice cold and was told that there was a microwave right behind me. I was shocked! I have never been told to microwave food at a restaurant before, if I wanted microwaved food I could have stayed home. When I asked if it could be made correctly she shrugged and pretty much wrote me off. I asked for a manager or someone above her. At that point a guy from the kitchen walked out and offered to fix my cold mac & cheese. He was really speedy in fixing the problem. I've been to this location 3 times & every time a disappointment. 1st 2 times salads with wilted lettuce & no baguette on 1st visit, 2nd visit couldn't chew the baguette. 3rd visit my husband wanted to try it. He ordered the Italian sandwich on toasted roll. It had 2 flat pieces of meat & all bread. Saddest Italian sandwich he has ever had. I ordered the Turkey Avocado BLT on crusty bread. It was on cold white bread with cold turkey and gross cold bacon. Most BLT's are on toasted bread & the bacon is warm. We are both not going back to this location. I do not understand why Midland always ruins chains that are always great in other towns. read more

Then, I get home and realize my salad doesn't have any dressing and none was included in the bag... what an utter disgrace of a Panera. First time to Panera bread in midland. Drove into the drive up and ordered a salad that was on the on line menu but the girl said they did not have that salad. I ordered a Greek salad and 1/2. Grilled cheese sandwich and my wife had the Southwest chili lime salad with chicken, it did not look like the picture, it looked like someone threw in yesterday's salad and shook it up! We got water in two cups and the total was $25.95.! I guess so much for "clean" eating, sad to say they won't make it here with that kind of food! read more

Went to Panera for the first time I order the chipotle chicken sandwich. Absolutely hated it the avocado tasted bad and the chicken was flavorless. By the time I sat down to eat it the bread was soggy and the avocado was turning brown. By husband got the turkey blt sandwich he didn't like it either with the cost of just a sandwich with no sides at all and neither of us even got a pickle like it says on the sign with the sandwiches. Took forever to order kiosk, regular line, or drive through. Then you have to wait again forever to get your food and its already going bad. Girl at the counter even spelled my name wrong she spelled it Jennefer and not Jennifer what was worse I spelled it for her. I will just keep going to MCALISTERS its a drive for us but at least its cheaper with better food and they can spell Jennifer. read more

Today was the second time I tried Panera, the front counter girl was snappy and short. She asked me if I wanted a drink 3 times before I was finished ordering my salad. I was so flustered by her I don't know if I forgot to ask for no cheese or she didn't hear me because she was talking over me, but when my salad was brought out it had the cheese. I pointed it out the worker who brought it to me and he pointed out that the ticket didn't indicate for it to be left off. I did not want to have another frustrating conversation with him so I just sat the salad to the side and ate my apple. If I could give this place 0 stars, I would. We've eaten at Panera all over the country and have never had a bad experience, so I was so excited when I heard we were getting one here in Midland. Needless to say, we WON'T be back. Four meals...all awful. Cold mac & cheese, one sandwich so soggy it looked like it had been soaked in water, grilled cheese sandwich burned to a crisp, bagette bread over cooked and hard as a rock, brown avacados on another sandwich. They don't even carry a full menu. All the tables were dirty, and when we asked for someone to wipe off our table, we got attitude. More than half the staff was gathered in the back of the restaurant, goofing around. This place has been open for only a few months and the bathrooms are already disgusting. My first impression of this Panera...yet another poorly managed restaurant in this city. It's such a shame. read more

Most over priced and arrogant place I've ever eaten at. I prefer the Texas soup which was priced at 9 dollars and the add on of a small sandwich for 3 dollars and a small drink. Total order came out to 17.90 just for lunch. My friends ordered sandwiches and small drinks and theirs came out to 14 dollars each and the sandwich was super small. For reference I could fit the 10 dollar sandwich on the screen of my iPhone. All the employees and customers talked down to us which added onto the already bad experience. This is probably the worst Panera Bread I have ever been to. We decided to give them one more chance and see if they have improved. They have not. We ordered from the kiosk thinking at least our order would be right. Well the sandwiches came with half a slice of cheese and one tomato slice. We joked the we each had the rest of the other person's cheese. The egg and eggs whites were rubbery and the bread over toasted. Being a Panera you would expect them to be packed at 10:00 Saturday morning. They were not. This right here should have been a sign when we got there. This is an odd Panera. They do not follow the pricing and guidelines of the other stores we have been to. There was no $.99 bakery item offered and the sandwiches do not match what is on the website, the employees are not knowledgeable about the products either. We were initially excited to be getting a Panera but now that it's here and it's poor we will not eat there. read more
