There was a line with 5 people ahead of me but since I was dining solo, I got to skip the line and the doorman let me go in and hands me a card to take to the cashier. But not knowing Portuguese and them not knowing English, it was confusing. I got a table but it hasn't been cleaned yet but I sat my bag down while looking at the food display. I went up to the counter with the older lady cashiers and placed my order and paid. What I ordered were readily available and don't require cooking but I only received one item. So, I pulled out Google Translate to let them know I was missing parts of my order and only received one item. A few minutes later, I got everything I ordered. And you know when people are talking about you in a different language? That was the vibe I got here. Pastel de Nata: They got an award for their pastel de nata so, my expectations were pretty high. It was ok. They could've warmed it up before serving and offered sugar and cinnamon but nope. I've had better. 3/5 Passionfruit Juice: It tasted fresh. A nice balance of tart and sweet. 4/5 Bolinho de Bacalhau: Fried cod fritter. Tasty, crunchy on the outside. 3.5/5 Coxinha: I love this stuff. It's one of my favorite Brazilian food. Like a fried croquette shaped like a teardrop filled with chicken and cream cheese. 4/5 There's a review site that claims this place is cash only - not true. But I got cash with me when I went here.

After eating, it's the perfect spot to continue your day with a walk along Copacabana or a visit to the fort museum right next door. I came with my family and had the chance to try several dishes. The cappuccino was outstanding, with the perfect balance of sweetness and a warm touch of cinnamon. The American toast with jam was delicious, and we also tried the pistachio éclair, which was very good, although it tasted more like a creamy filling than a strong pistachio flavor. The pastel de nata was small but really tasty as well. My favorite, though, was the "Queijo do Forte," a breaded brie that was absolutely incredible. The Assado de Gorgonzola was also perfectly prepared, full of rich flavor, and the meat was cooked just right. As a final highlight, I loved being able to enjoy a truly fresh natural orange juice with lunch -- something I really miss when I'm abroad. The other entrees are not as good however. Do not be deceived by the bright colors and large portion. Just stick to the crepes. They take card but they don't speak english--and they like to stare.

They have great hours, I believe its 9am-9pm, and they're even open on Sundays, so if you are looking for a good brunch spot on Sunday, check them out! They have decent coffee, and really great baked goods. They also happen to be on of only two places I know of in Rio where you can get a decent American-style chocolate chip cookie. The food is all reasonably priced. Sandwiches are in the R$20 range and the lunch specials run around R$30.
