I was looking to replace my floors and was referred to Panter's. I still decided to get a few quotes (Costco 10.5k, Lowe's 10k, Panter's 8k, Sears 7k). I visited their store to get a few ideas on colors and types of floors. There was only one employee working and she had very little information and had to call someone over the phone each time I asked a question. Due to their wide selection I decided to go with Panter's. The work took about two weeks and consisted of about 3 different groups coming by. I guess each group is not trained on all work beginning to end? Not sure. Anyways, in the end they left a few items undone like the door trims and bottom floor under the door. Items that I could take care of but should have been taken care of by them. When materials were dropped off they were dropped off next to my car leaving my car coated in dust. This could have been avoided if I was notified so that I could move my car out of the way. If you decide to use their service you'll have to do a bit of babysitting to ensure everything is done correctly. If you are like me and just want to pay and not have to work, I don't recommend Panter's. Try someone else. read more

Shane, the owner is very hands on. He is very detail oriented and excels at customer service. There was a little lack of communication during the period between agreeing to the job and the start of the construction. Shane was able to match our existing hardwood, without maker, color,material or anything. He looked at and measured the size of the wood and was able to locate same out of China talk about expert! Once the work began the crew was very courteous, quiet and tried to keep the house as clean as possible. Work was completed efficiently and fast! Our work was removing tile and installing hardwood in 3 baths, 2 bedrooms, hallway, kitchen great room, closets, laundry room and two pantries, all of which was completed in four days!! Baseboards throughout the house as well. There was an issue found a day after install and Shane was out the next morning (10:00am on Sat) to resolve. He had his crew come and fix the issue same day! Three years ago we had laminate flooring installed throughout our entire house. In October, 2016, we had some water damage in our kitchen and wanted it repaired. The original company said the entire downstairs flooring would have to be replaced as there was only one transition area to work from and they would not be able to guarantee a color or sheen match. What a waste of otherwise perfectly good flooring. I found Panter's on Yelp. Shane came out to provide an estimate to replace the flooring. His first words were, "Are you sure you want to replace the entire floor?" He proceeded to explain how he could simply remove the damaged planks, check for water damage and replace with new ones. We hired him on the spot. Chris and Andres showed up on the appointed day and time, removed the damaged pieces, showed me how far the water damage occurred and that the area was completely dried. They replaced the new pieces and did a more thorough job than the original company who had only installed partway under the stove and dishwasher. They replaced the quarter rounds and cleaned up their work area in the garage. In fact, Andres swept the entire garage without being asked. They were on time, professional, and pleasant. It was such a pleasure to work with a contractor who showed up on time and did what he said he would do in the time frame he quoted. My husband and I are huge fans of the TV show Holmes on Homes, so when it came time to hire a flooring contractor for our new town home, we were very skeptical and even afraid. Fortunately, our fears were alleviated by Panter's Hardwood Flooring. Like many people in search of contractors, we heard about Panter's from a good friend. She had had hardwood floors installed by them and raved about her experience. When she showed us pictures of her reno, we were impressed by the quality of the floors. The quality was top-notch. Our first step was calling Panter's. Right off-the-bat, we spoke with Shane, the owner. He informed us that Panter's is family-owned and has been in business for over 25 years. He has two stores, one in Corona and one in Banning. His installers have travelled from L.A. to El Cajon, so they had no trouble driving to us (the O.C.). Keep in mind, though, that if they do have to commute to your property, there will be a travel expense built into your invoice. (It won't outright say it, but it'll be there, most likely, in the "flat rate.") What we liked about Shane (aside from the fact that he is licensed and has so much experience) is that he's genuine and honest. He's very upfront about the quality of product (hardwood vs. engineered, import vs. domestic wood, etc.) and cost. Every time we spoke with him, we felt like we were getting educated, and there was never a push for a sale. We ended up purchasing Bruce hickory engineered flooring for our downstairs, including the kitchen, porcelain tile for the bathrooms, and Mohawk carpet for the stairs and upstairs. The same carpet, I might add, was more than twice the price at Home Depot! We also purchased baseboards (nearly 4" high). They installed everything in three days (which was our move-in deadline) and cleaned up after each day of work. Impressive? Most definitely. Will we work with him again in the future? The wife and I were looking to install some tile throughout our house. We found the tile we wanted on State College, but wanted to shop around for an installer. We found Panter's onYelp and thought we'd give them a try based on their reviews. Shane came over to take our measurements and sent over a quote the next day. His quote was very affordable (compared to other bids we received) and his tile price was even cheaper than what we found in Fullerton!!! Steve and Mike were the guys who installed the tile and they are awesome. The crew was over every day in time and always cleaned up and left the house in good shape. They were very friendly and knowledgable. The original time frame was four days, but ended taking a week. That was mainly due to the snowstorm up north not being able to ship the tile on time. Even before purchasing a new house we knew that we are going to install our own flooring which we had a vision about many months before . We did our research and even made couple calls to have an idea on prices and what to expect . Before we purchased our house we had at least 3 different companies to stop by and measure the model to be able to give us a precise quote on how much everything will cost and what might be our options . To be honest our project was not a cheapest one since we wanted different types of materials installed to look certain way , let's say the flooring was one of the most budget demanding project . So after getting couple of quotes we decided to go with a company which was not a local one but we were in their service area which had the biggest amount of 5 stars on their Yelp page which made us feel very comfortable from initial onsite estimate to professional tools the sales person used while measuring the model but we received very high price quote but still decided to go with them based on their happy customers and high rating . After finally getting our house we contacted the flooring company to have them stop by and measure the actual house which is the exact same house like model with the same square footage but to out surprise this time we received even higher quote maybe because the sales guy knew that we decided to go with them 99% even stopped by and chose materials to go with ( the materials were within same price range like original quote so no price change should be here FYI ) this made us rethink our decision and even we wanted to thank him because his creed or bait and switch technique opened up our mind and made us look around more and we almost I can say accidentally discovered Panter's Flooring very close by our new house . I immediately contacted them through Yelp's business message - quote with the information needed to get a fast quote with prices I knew that the prices might be cheaper or higher since we did not chose any types of materials but the size of them . Shane the owner contacted me right away with very clear explanation and prices which we liked and the next day Shane was in our new house measuring the house ( on weekend ) . He even let us follow him to his store to be able to choose materials and he even recommended where to go and check out or choose specific materials that we needed . Shane was able to provide us the most reasonable price and even provided with free laminate to help us save some money which we appreciated a lot . We recently decided to replace our 26-year old downstairs carpeting and ceramic tile with hardwood flooring. We also wanted to upgrade the original builder's grade oak colored banister and change the balusters for wrought iron. We shopped around and found a few flooring vendors that provided quotes. We decided to go with Panter's Home Design and Flooring because it was clear he had been in business a long time, was licensed and insured, had very good references, offered a very competitive quote and gave us the impression he knew what he was talking about. He suggested creative ideas that we hadn't thought of. We visited his shop a couple of times and made the deal. The two-man tile demo team took a couple of days to remove 750 Square feet of tile, leaving the black slip sheet glued to the concrete subfloor. There was a lot of dust and noise, as we were warned. The next crew of Dustin and Julio worked for about a week to remove the carpeting, grind off the slip sheet, level the dips in the concrete floor, glue the flooring to the subfloor, install the baseboard and clean up the mess. The dust was a fine talc-like powder that got all over everything, but we were prepared for the inconvenience. The next crew member Aaron prepared the staircase, painted the trim, installed the false tread and the wrought iron balusters, and did a marvelous job of working out the trim details. Shane Panter personally stained the newel posts and banisters. Finally, a patterned carpeting was installed up the staircase in a matter of a few hours. All of the workers were efficient, friendly, courteous, and very knowledgeable. Their workmanship is impeccable, and the house looks like a million-dollar home. When we suggested minor changes to the project plan along the way, they were met with creativity, enthusiasm and prompt execution. The job encompassed the living, dining and family rooms; kitchen, entry and hallway; staircase to the second floor where the new materials were artfully joined with the existing upstairs wood floor. It was truly a pleasure to see the professionals work their trades, and we learned a lot from the experience. So, please be ADVISED if you decide to go with the promotion for financing ( we had cash, but thought it would be nice to get free money) do NOT do it!! These guys get paid the full amount within a week! We were told to demo old tile, carpet and laminate and install 2,000 sqft of plank tile, it would be a 3 to 4 week job....?we even left the house wide open for 7 days while on vacation.. weak results. It's been 4 MONTHS and still not done. After half the flooring was installed, we saw some tiles that were not flush. We brought this to Shane's attention! He proceeded to tell us that he "told us that when we picked out the tile"... like we would install 2,000 sqft of uneven tile!!! They came back and fixed several tiles, only to chip the surrounding tiles!! Now, after 4 months had to hire a different tile guy to finish the work on the contract!! From day one, they were weak.. not prepping properly, not protecting our furniture and house. Have made over 15 texts and calls to finish the job....ZERO response! As I was getting ready to move in to a brand new home, I was referred to Shane. When we agree to the price for removing the just installed carpet and replace it with laminated flooring and after going to his store in Corona, Ca. we gave him a down payment and it took almos a month to finish the job. We had a few things to correct and finally Shane send the installer to correct them as plenty of glue was left on the floor. I never saw Shane so it all was done on the phone. Now after several calls and messages left, nothing has been done about some spots with a weak glued spots and I'm afraid it may lifting soon. I can't in all honesty recommend this person even doe the majority of work was done to our satisfaction thanks to the installer, the lack of "Customer Service" and response by Shane regarding the lates complains. For several years I was procrastinating having work done on my condo because of horror stories I've heard from friends and co-workers on shoddy worksmanship. I was terrified I'd have a bunch of work done, only to need it redone again 6 months in the future. When my ceiling started caving in downstairs due to leaks upstairs, it was time to get serious and start looking. My girlfriend blasted her department at work and picked up some contacts who had had remodeling done on their homes. I had 5 contractors come and take a look at the work to be done. Shane from Panter's wasn't the cheapest price of the bunch, but he was the only one who gave me a professional estimated quote and statement of work, as well as followed up with me the week after while I had other contractors coming to take a look to see how it was going. Not only that, but when he came over to check out the flooring, he also took my suggestions for work in the kitchen, bathrooms, ceiling, plumbing, the works! He offered to project coordinate it and subcontract it out to some reliable guys he works with. Dream. Come. True, as long as they're all top notch quality. Well now that all my work is completed I CAN say with 100% certainty the quality was top notch. They walked me through step by step on how it's supposed to be done right, how other contractors do it wrong to assure me I wouldn't have to redo it year's down the road. Here's a list of the work performed on my condo: Panter's Flooring: - Project managed all work from beginning to end, great job! - Demolition of old tile and carpeting - Beige tile in kitchen and all bathrooms - Kronos distressed Appalachian Hickory laminate everywhere else, including stairs - New fancy 4" super white baseboards throughout Subcontracted to Franco @F A B Construction (these guys were incredible to work with): - Leaking pipes from toilet and bathtub fixed with new parts - Ceiling holes re-insulated, patched, and retextured, checks for structural damage (thankfully none!) - New LED recessed lighting in the kitchen with crown molding, retextured ceiling - New espresso color kitchen cabinets, w/ lazy susan & stainless steel sink - Beautiful river white granite countertops - Glass/stone/metal modern backsplash - New Stove & Over the range microwave installed - New toilets in all bathrooms installed - New faucets in all sinks installed - Demolition of old primary master bathtub and enclosure - New Kohler Villager bathtub installed - Fire wall in bathroom replaced (illegally damaged from bank prior to sale) - New tiled enclosure for bathtub with nook & accent tiles - Adjusted shower head up about 4", new mixer, shower head, handle installed - All old plastic waterstops & hoses in the condo were replaced with new half turning ones Total time for work performed was about 4 weeks. As you can see I was have a LOT of work done. Shane organized it so that it would impact me living at my house during at that time as little as possible. Pros: - Fair Prices (came in middle of the pack) - Zero price creep, except for work I requested to be added - Quality work - Trustworthy - I asked about their worksmanship warranty, it's lifetime guarantee! - Shane & Franco some great choices on colors and ideas for the remodel - Customer focused, I could always get ahold of Shane & Franco and they both went out of their way to see I was satisfied - Shane did a great job with project coordination, keeping me informed of schedules and upcoming work every couple days Lesson's learned (Cons): - Lost a couple days waiting for some parts to come in. Don't start the work/demo unless everything has arrived, shipping can be late at times! - You may need to repaint after that amount of work, there were many marks on the walls. - If you order Granite, make sure it's sealed, first thing! Mine was not and unfortunately there was some very slight discoloration in a noticeable spot before they came back to seal it a couple weeks later. Usually pre-fab slabs are already sealed, they're trying to figure out why this was not. I wouldn't say this was their fault, but they handled it professionally. Overall: I'd be happy to work with Panter's Flooring and F A B Construction again. They did an excellent job with my remodel and I'm a very happy customer. We were looking for a flooring contractor to repair a damaged hardwood floor in our rental. After being outright snubbed by the contractor who originally installed them, we went to Angie's List and found Panter's Home Design. We liked the excellent reviews and their subsequent estimate, so we hired them. They did such a good job with the repair, you couldn't even tell the floor had been damaged in the first place. When we decided to re-floor our own home, we went back to Panter's. The quote was more than affordable and Shane worked with us on financing. His crew was very skilled, professional, and hard-working. They removed our existing glued-down hardwood floor and tile and installed the new hardwood in the entire house. After meeting with several flooring companies I found Panters Flooring on Angie's List. I spoke with Shane briefly and was blown away by his knowledge and professionalism. We set an appointment and he arrived on time and with several of the samples we spoke about. He spoke open and honestly about the samples and what he thought would be a good fit for our home based on the white oak concept. Never did I feel like he was trying to sell me something. Ordering, payment, and setting up installation was a breeze and the crew arrived on time at the agreed upon start date. The crew helped move all of our furniture and covered it properly. They even covered entryways and all of the kitchen cabinets in plastic to help keep dust to a minimum. In addition to being flooring experts, the crew was accommodating if we wanted certain boards placed or not in a specific area. The end result is amazing. I was torn between giving them a 1 star or 2 star review. I settled on the 2 star only because the work they did was good, as was our first few visits to the store to schedule. But everything else was terrible. First off, they were late the first day of installation. They got most of the work done pretty quickly, but failed to finish a few things (correcting the paint on the stairs, missing transition). They also stained several parts of our wall - looks like from dirty hands. It took a few times to schedule their return and once they did come back, they still didn't finish the paint. I emailed the owner numerous times asking if they would be coming back and never heard anything. I sent one last email telling him I was very disappointed in the lack of communication and what appeared to be a refusal to finish their work. I received an email from him after that saying my emails were going into his junk folder. He said he'd come back and finish. I told him we weren't interested, and he said he'd refund us $300.00 - which he finally did. My suggestion is find another place to purchase your flooring - somewhere they'll do the job completely. read more

We recently had the flooring in our kitchen, entry and breakfast nook replaced due to water damage. Initially, we hired another local flooring company, but after the tile they installed began to lift (hours upon completion), we sought out help from Panter's. Not only did they do all of the prep work correctly (which was one of the primary problems with the first flooring company) despite it requiring a lot of prep, but they cleaned up the mistakes the first flooring company made and installed flooring and molding beautifully. What started as a nightmare experience with the first flooring company turned out to be a wonderful one with Panter's. Scott and Shane were a pleasure to work with, were completely up front about what was needed and the associated costs and did phenomenal, detailed work!
