Joey Scandizzo Salon (Award Winning) across the road were apparently mates with the Suit Shop owner and asked him if he was willing for them to take over the lease. They took over the place and pumped a heap of money into the shop front. It really looks great but is also pricey. $50 for a cut and $50 for a shave or $90 for both.... Good Things: They wash and massage your hair / head They offer coffee / whiskey / beer The setup looks great and staff fairly friendly and personable They accepted my first time discount voucher from the website with no hesitation Bad Things: I asked for shave and after my hairdresser asked everyone in the shop, he offered me a shave at 1pm. My hair was being cut at 9.30am. Coffee is Nespresso My hairdresser asked me what I wanted, listened to me + agreed and then cut my hair differently... Being offered bourbon or beer at 9.30am by a 16 year old Claiming to be able to do a fade and the not being able to do it.... Overall, I had a pretty bad experience but it could have just been my hairdresser. They are getting rave reviews on Facebook and have supported many big events such as Movember (probably through Joey Scandizzo's contacts). After an arduous research and more research process of finding a good barber in the city, I finally booked an appointment with a promising one in the far end of the city. Whilst shopping in Emporium however I stumbled across Fleet St - and saw how nice it looked and the barbers looked like they knew what they were doing. Suffice to say I cancelled my other appointment and did a walk in (thank godness for walk ins!) here instead. My barber was friendly, straight to the point and informative. He was telling me about their in house products and took care of me well. (free coffee! Or beer if you wish) That was pretty much one of the best haircut I've had in a LONG time, because you know that your barber is doing a good job and you trust him. He listened to what I was looking for and didn't hesitate to do it or offer suggestions. The price was $49 for a cut which I found a bit pricy, but for a quality cut you get what you paid for. Lastly don't miss out on their fantastic in house products, each one is priced at $28 and they work really well. I will definitely come back on my next Melbourne trip.

I waited until Thursday night for my cut only to have my request ignored by the "hairdresser" not a barber. You know that moment when you feel the pit of your stomach fall. I experienced that while receiving a "pixie" cut, numerous times i expressed what I was looking for from my haircut and never did I ask for anything close to a pixie cut. I simply wanted a trim. To rub salt into my wounds at the end of this experience I was charged $80 simply because I was female. The next morning I went back to my usual barber "Brother Wolf" so they could fix what had been done. Best part the boys didn't charge me to fix what had been done, and as always offered me a beer.

You won't want to leave, but I've warned ya! The prices are definitely higher (for a men's cut) than any other salon I've been to, but worth it for the BEST haircut of your life. I have thick hair, so when it grows, it looks more like a Boofro than anything else (That's a Boof Afro.) Yep, it gets all boofy and I look goofy and silly, so the only way is to shave it off. Each barber I've had has always been great; David only hires the best, and only hires reliable people with experience. There's not much of the playing first and second chair fiddle here, mostly it is a shared enterprise, done evenly. There are some stand out favorite barbers though that do get popular. For me, It doesn't matter so much. I've only ever really gotten a crew cut form here, so that's all I can speak for but I've never been disappointed. Great results.
