Pretty good, but inconsistent as last time steak was tough and baked potato was sent back. For being under done.

I enjoy the food (other than the "chicken" is quite bland. The queso is good, even though the viscosity is inconsistent (I'm not sure why, if they are using a recipe and adhering to it). Other than some items being quite oily, I do find the food to be fairly excellent American-style Mexican cuisine. The servers are efficient. The manager (owner??) lady is now in the drive-thru/kitchen, insomuch as I can tell, which is a definite upside. On the main floor, she's surly and treats customers differently according to how much she believes they're worth financially. She also doesn't appear to like women. I don't care if you do not like me because of my gender... However, I am a paying customer, and as a lady, I frequently make the decision whether or not we eat at your establishment. All the more reason to treat me better, no? ;) Also, it is not recommended to say tables are 'reserved' when it's clear that they are not. I went here for my birthday dinner last night because I've been wanting to try this place! when i was parking, i noticed they had a drive thru! which is great because i will most definitely use it in the future. When my boyfriend and I walked in, we were immediately greeted and showed to a booth. the place was neat & decorated nicely. We were then brought chips and salsa. the first batch of chips were kind of stale in my opinion, then we were greeted by our server. he was nice and prompt. I ordered a margarita and my boyfriend ordered a 32. oz beer in a glass. For food, we both ordered the fajita chicken quesadilla and it was really good. I was really glad i came here. good food in el dorado is hard to come by especially for a good price. read more

I like bland Mexican food but my husband prefers authentic Mexican. I like this place but he doesn't. Food was cheap until COVID, which is understandable. Delivery was only available off and on for a very short time. Since COVID, we don't eat in. However, even if you call ahead and place your order for pick up through the drive thru, you will end up behind someone ordering from the restaurant drive thru and you will be in line waiting on them. Would be nice if they had some kind of service where they could bring the food out to your car or something. read more

Excellent Mexican Food - the stuffed Poblanos are excellent, homemade limeade, excellent service and the white queso is superb.

Went here for take out last night and was very happy. We each ordered a build your own chile relleno, and it was delicious. Service was great. Marcella was very helpful and prompt. The portions were generous and the margarita I had while waiting was yummy. read more

My fiancé and I went approximately a year ago and they brought us chips and salsa and because I didn't eat they charged us for salsa and chips - I get it times are hard - however it wasn't told to us until we checked out- today we came in I ordered a taco ala cart and my fiancé ordered off lunch menu- I maybe ate 6 chips - when we got to check out they charged us for chips and salsa !! I asked for the manager cause I ate my taco we both ordered food and when they bring you chips and salsa before you order and then charge you for it is poor business practices! I have never ever been charged for chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant when I have ordered in. We didn't order the chips and were charged. We will NEVER go back to this restaurant as long as it is being managed by whoever is managing. We always are gracious and this is the first bad review I have ever done! So this was poor business practices and I will not recommend this restaurant to anyone! read more

This was once one of my favorite spots in El Dorado. But the customer service has gone from great to awful. I called about our missing tortillas in our to go order and was asked to "look again". After confirming that I did not have tortillas the person on the phone said "Well. You can come back and get them." Of course I was coming back. 30+ minutes. Round trip. I get back, pick up the tortillas and asked about getting anything for having to waste my time over their mistake. The answer was nothing. Good food, terrible people. Its the closest to Mexican food that you will get here in El Dorado, so enjoy it and don't complain. Just don't even think about ordering enchiladas if you have ever eaten them outside of Arkansas. The service is very good, they fill the chips and drinks often and you usually don't wait to long to get your food. The horchata is excellent. read more

All I can say is WOW! Great food don't let the appearance fool you. We found them on yelp on our way back from vacation. They have delicious fresh guacamole and the salsa doesn't taste like the standard restaurant bottled stuff. I ordered the steak chimichanga supreme. The meat had great flavor, and was very filling. The staff was friendly and it got packed quickly but still had good service. Will make them one of my stops for now on. read more

I ordered my lunch today at 10:30 am for pickup at 11 am, Beef Fajita Salad, no chips and salsa. I arrived promptly at 11 and was given a bag and asked what drink I wanted. When I was given the drink, the lady asked for the bag back. After waiting several minutes, I was given another bag. I was told they had fixed a taco salad and not a fajita salad like I had ordered. I asked if it was beef as I had ordered and she said no it was chicken. I told her I wanted my money back, I had already waited more than 15 minutes for my food and it was not correct. I told her I could not give her back the drink because I had poured it drink into my Sonic cup. She told me she could not give me a full refund without me returning my drink. I gave her my Sonic cup and got my money and left. Terrible customer service!!!!! read more

This was once my family's favorite restaurant but now I can say it is solely my mother's and we all go to appease her, but after tonight I will never order here again. For some time now, Papa Poblanos has had really poor service in the restaurant. We were stuck with the same waitress there last six times we've visited this year. This young woman couldn't even get a drink order with no ice correct until her fourth try. I was so happy we didn't have her tonight. Instead, we were thrown back and forth between two. The one who's been there the longest took my order for their sirloin with mashed potatoes and gravy with a side salad. My dinner came and received what must have been two cold baked potatoes smashed around with a bowl of colder gravy gelatin on the side... Not the mashed potatoes I've gotten in the past with the gravy on them. It was really gross and my waitress did not return for over twenty minutes... Many staff members passed us but none would look our direction to see us signal them. During this time, having eaten my steak and still being hungry, l realized I never got my salad. This meal I'm describing was $15.99 or $16.99. When our waitress finally came back I started trying to tell her about my meal and she walked away from me. She left. I waited for her to come back and my mom went to the bathroom, then trying to be nonconfrontational she paid and decided it was time to go. I asked for the manger and got a man who I think may the owner. I told him I had never received food so bad here and described this to him, and he simply looked at me like I was being stupid because my mother had paid. He asked me what I expected him to do. I told him I don't know. My real thought is that if you have no idea how to satisfy a customer who's dinner was DISGUSTING and a third of it never arrived, you shouldn't be in the business you're in. It's probably the same reason your waiters are not bright and don't know a damn thing about your menu. My only consultation was that my steak was not horrible. My steak was tender and well seasoned but half was well done and the other end was rare. Does that constitute as the medium I ordered? Is that worth $15? Should I tell you about the day they tried to charge me $3 for a tiny cup of gravy? read more

They have a couple of locations in town. Its Mexican in Arkansas... I'm living in TX... it's not bad, but its not great. Food is fast, portions are large and service is good. If your looking to satisfy your chips and salsa craving it will work just fine. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing... so it gets 3 starts! read more

Pretty much the stock Tex-Mex available in most communities now. Screaming hot plate with your dinner choices on it. Better than average refried beans (I'm generally anti-refried beans so when I get some that don't taste like warm bean dip I'm happy). There used to be two Papa Poblanos in El Dorado, the on the southeast side of town is closed, but the one on North West Avenue is open. It is in an building that used to be a Dairy Queen. It is across the street from a Burger King. The food is very good and the prices can't be beat. Great value. Friendly staff. You can even get a beer if you want. As of this writing you can get the lunch specials until 5:00. Unless you are in a huge rush, skip Taco Bell and give Papa Poblanos a try. Nothing fancy, don't go for the ambiance, but DO go for good food in a clean restaurant with good service all at a very good price. read more
