If there ever was someone to talk you through arrangements for the most traumatic and heartbreaking time in your life, it would be Joseph Sr. & Joseph Jr. Papavero. The class, professionalism, and just genuine caring they displayed during every interaction was truly appreciated. My father sadly passed from COVID-19 and by the time I was referred to the Papavero's, I had called and been turned down from at least 9 other homes. I would have called them sooner as they're quite local to me but I thought I would have better luck calling places outside of Queens. Between my initial call and Joseph calling me back, maybe 10 minutes had lapsed and he was understanding, reassuring and comforting. He connected me to Robert at St. John's, who was able to help me pick out a burial site within 24 hours. After all the necessary information had been gathered, my sister and I met Joseph Sr. at the Home (all wearing PPE) and made the arrangements for my father. My father was picked up by the Papaveros from the hospital within 48 hours of his passing (which is a blessing if you're at all aware of the climate of how many deaths there are and how overrun the mortuaries and funeral homes are). The funeral was yesterday morning and despite needing 40+ members of my family and friends Zooming in to "attend", it was a beautiful service that honored my father. Knowing he was a DJ, they added a special DJ emblem image to his name plate on the casket. Joseph made sure we were taken care of every step of the way, arranging our family Priest to be able to be present during the internment as well. The Papavero family run business is by far one of the best family owned businesses in NYC. They helped us after my mother's passing just before coronavirus upended New York and they dedicated their efforts to be as efficient and understanding as possible during our grieving process while they planned the details of the funeral. They are a truly incredible, sympathetic, organized and a very upfront business. They went above and beyond for my family. Words can not express how satisfied we were with the service we received from the Papavero Family. The attention to detail that was provided far exceeded what we ever imagined or expected.
