We have been going here for years and were generally happy until this year…read more We dropped off an envelope with our tax info and told the man to give it to our guy who does them every year. We set our appointment and left. We had our appointment, with our normal guy, taxes were filed and thought everything was fine. Upon checking "where's my refund" it kept giving us a code. We called the IRS and found out our income was recorded wrong. Looking into it we found out 1. Our regular guy did not do our taxes. Someone else did. 2. Our income did not include fmla or unemployment. Non taxable in CA, very taxable per federal tax. 3. The man who did our taxes consulted with 6 others , my guess is, because of the fmla and unemployment. Potentially giving our info to 6 people I don't know. 4. This was an EZ form. We had no other deductions other than the kids. All the info they needed was on clearly printed out forms. 5. We were charged over $500 for their fee and should have been $150. 6. They did amend the return and did not charge us for the amended return however, now our return is delayed until July. 7. They did not offer us a refund per their own rules. It states, we would be given up to $5000 if it is their mistake. 8. Now are giving us the run around for our refund of their services. Not at all happy this year.

Plus, I found their fee to be reasonable and much less than what I was paying for my former tax preparer (it pays to shop around). We dealt with an assistant this time. Response time via email, text, and phone was VERY slow. a few days before filing date, we still didn't hear back from them so we called, email, and texted (again). On the FILING DATE, We were told it would be DONE that day and we should get something to sign. NO WE DID NOT. No one returned our calls, emails, texts and it's almost 1 week later since filing date and still, no responses. so now I'm scrambling to do it myself and I will HAVE TO PAY PENALTIES. I hope everything is okay with David but we will not be going back.
