I have always been charmed with the owners here. Always…read moreready with a smile and with their cute kids running around the shop, this is a very enjoyable place to eat. This sweet little store offers a very comprehensive malay menu (77 items!) and some of the best value meals I have encountered in west end. I usually get the crisp and fresh vegetarian spring rolls, and the yummy chef's special of kaffir lime fried chicken. But be sure to also stick around for dessert! (sticky black rice pudding with coconut milk = amazing) And with under $15 a meal what's not to love about Little Malaysia?

Until now. Was on a nice drive when BAM - hunger struck. What better time than now to try? Got a park close (free on weekends - score) and decided against the specials board. We couldn't resist the temptation of our old friends Singapore noodles and char kuey teow. The place had a few people around, but was easy to grab a seat and sip on our iced teas. Oh, they also have bubble tea too. My partner's Singapore noodles came out within 5 minutes and my char kuey teow wasn't long after. Oh yeah, that hit the spot. Nice smokey flavour, enough spice to taste it but not to be overwhelming, good ratio of noodle to bean sprouts. Just how I like it. The seafood is what usually makes or breaks it for me, and this was not broken. Tasty and well cooked for the meal. My partner says that the Singapore noodles tasted good but weren't the best. I like mine with a lot of lemon and none was provided but that's just my thoughts. So, small, cheap, tasty, fast, friendly service. I'd come back, but wouldn't go out of my way to come here.

Good Malaysian hawker food We visited Dapur Dahlia at their…read morenow not so new premises opposite the Buranda shopping centre for lunch on Sunday - which are a huge step up from their old premises at Mount Gravatt. Unfortunately no roti was available so we tried the dry curry mee with chicken, seafood laksa lemak, fried chicken and a taro pudding for dessert. The dry curry mee was very good but we weren't that impressed with the laksa - it had a more buttery rather than coconut milk flavour and they used short fat rice noodles ("mouse tail" noodles) which are not our favourite. The food here is Malay style rather than Chinese Malaysian style so I don't think that this is the place to eat noodles. We're going to come back and try the nasi lemak (which looked amazing) and some roti! They have a good coffee machine and use Wolff Coffee which was excellent.

You won't always have to, but it's a really small shop often with only two people there. The lace-like roti is nice and I haven't seen it anywhere else in Brisbane before. They have two types of chicken wings that are both good (one spicy version and one not so much). We always get takeaway because the shop has only two tables out the front but the dishes travel well. I would definitely rate the food as some of the best Malaysian/Indonesian food in Brisbane.
