The food is delicious and very authentic, and they have a huge menu of both food and drinks so there's something for everyone. I've had a few items there, and am yet to be disappointed. The process of ordering is unusual but simple - they give you menus, a notepad and a pencil. You look at the menus and write the codes down on the notepad for the things you would like, then press the buzzer on the table and they come and get it off you. Not long after, your food and drink arrives!

Between three of us, we ordered two meat curries and one vegetarian, rice for three, and two naans and the cost worked out to around $30 a head. Whilst an expensive feed of Indian, the curries were good and delivered to our table quickly. Otherwise, service left a bit to be desired--staff could have been more attentive as they took a long time to retrieve the payment and deliver our change. All in all, nothing special, but if you find yourself at South Bank really craving a curry, Gandhi Curry House will satiate the taste buds. Note: evening closing time depends on amount of business.

The takoyaki was good too and I tasted the chunks of octopus as it should have. Kitchen seems to be always busy. There were a few empty tables but our food took maybe 30 minutes to arrive. Having marked this place on my Wishlist, I didn't think I'd actually make it out this far food…read more But, being located right next to Miette's Boulangerie gave me an excuse to actually travel out to try out these allegedly delicious places in suburbia. I've had several fish 'n' chips places around Brisbane, including The Salt & Battery in St. Lucia, as well as Fish Market in Dutton Park. So far, I think that Riverside does the best job frying up their fish 'n' chips, but Fish Market does make the plate more colorful with a mini salad on the side. Riverside does a lunch special of the cod fish with hot chips and a canned drink for $10, and it's loaded with hot chips to fill you up! I couldn't finish them... The batter for the cod had an amazing mouthfeel, as it wasn't over-fried or soggy, and the fish was definitely fresh. I didn't try any other fishes, so I can't vouch for them, but the calamari seems to be quite popular. The sauces (tartare, etc.) are an extra $1.5-2.0, but totally worth it! My tartare sauce was perfect. They were friendly and pretty attentive, so that's always a plus. This isn't a place to go for ambience, but it is definitely a go-to if you're a fan of seafood! The only downside is that going by public transportation takes quite a while...
