I went recently, and thoroughly enjoyed myself (even though I fell over and bruised myself a few times!) It would've been great if they'd offered lessons to first timers before we stepped on the ice, but you have to book a class for that. Paradice is a nice change from the usual activities we do with our friends, and for a pretty good price too. Suitable for children aswell, its great for a family day out and some bonding time! I love the cold, so going ice skating is basically heaven for me. I'm not the best ice skater, but its so much fun after you get into the groove of things; although I wish the music here wasn't so dated at times! Younger kids will definitely enjoy this if they aren't too scared of blades and ice, and the night sessions are always a little more upbeat for the older ones and lighting effects are going full blast by then. My best advice would be to make sure you've got the right size of blades on- you'll have a much better time and you won't be stomping around! As I write this review I rub my butt thinking about all the pain I went through during my trips to the ice skating rink. The closest rink was the Avondale one but I of course thought I was too cool so a bunch of friends and I would make the bus trip all the way to Botany only to piss our parents off by asking for a ride back home. The joys of being a teenager really! The rink is a perfect way to spend the day, it is cold so I advise that mini skirts and short shorts aren't appropriate attire at all. It's best to leave those for the beach. If you are stuck babysitting then take the kids to the skating rink. read more
