Paradigm Partners manages a ~50 unit condo building that I own a unit in and the building is always clean, has nice landscaping, is well maintained, and the management is always communicating what is going on inside and around the building to all the units and tenants. They've also been absolutely professional and understanding about issues. In particular, Adam has always been communicative and gotten back to me on every single email that I've sent them, and every request that I've asked for. Nothing has never been forgotten or lost track of, ever. I can't say that about any of the 10+ other management companies I've ever dealt with in my life as a board member or unit owner.. most of them have in fact been completely the polar opposite. Since Paradigm Partners began managing Seawinds, a 150 unit condo complex in North Quincy, they have been dealing with issues in an efficient and cost effective way. Our building suffered from winter storm damage right after they began managing the property. The owners spent several weeks working full time on site to begin to address the water damage. In the past seven months, they have reviewed contracts with our vendors and brought costs down a little. Paradigm managed the building we were living in in Canton and we always had a great experience with them! Adam was always great to deal with, even under urgent requests. He and his team were very responsive and handled maintenance requests as quickly as possible. Having lived in several different apartments in Boston, I've seen firsthand that you never know what you're going to get as far as management companies go - especially given that the nature of their business usually puts them between a rock and hard place with the decision-makers who own the building and the contractors who eventually do the work. I always felt that Adam was working to improve the situation for us even when they were difficult to resolve. Paradigm Partners of Westwood, Ma managed our small 13 unit building - the Trevor House, Squantum, Quincy, Ma. I owned a unit there from 2006 to 2013. I feel the peaceful enjoyment of my home was in-part, ruined by Paradigm Partners. I had to repeatedly retain legal counsel for home issues involving Paradigm, financial expenditures rose at an alarming rate while under Paradigm Management and Paradigm management was just plain bad. For instance: After three years of enduring little to no heat (my condo fee was to include this), Dick Williams told me to buy a house if I did not enjoy condo living. I am told we paid $1,200 the last time we painted our stairways, yet this year they spent $4,800 instead. My neighbor who painted it for $1,200 in the past, said he would have repeated this same job for $1,200. I am told we paid $16,000 towards a "window project" of having our windows replaced, which ended up being called a "report" and nothing more than words on paper (which I never even got to see). I am told we paid $850 for a clothes dryer. It worked poorly and was repeatedly broken. I am told a $700 assessment I paid from last year was partly for furnace repairs, and then my roommates told me they had no heat within a couple of weeks of these so called repairs. Earlier this year, I mailed a large check to prepay condo fees. Paradigm used this for a building assessment instead (without my knowledge or consent). I did not even know there was a building assessment at the time. Then after using/misappropriating my large prepaid condo fee payment in this unintended manner, Paradigm started to bill me a late charge for condo fees that I thought were prepaid. We were able to get our MLC certificate, title exam and insurance, mortgage pay off, discharges, fire inspection, money wires, attorney and broker work all done in time for a quick closing when I sold. The ONLY item late for closing was the 3D Certificate from Paradigm. This was a case where public city and state employees worked faster than our own paid management company, Paradigm Partners. When I requested my 6D Certificate to sell my unit, Dick Williams from Paradigm wrote on June 5th that my June 2013 condo fee was not paid, yet on May 6th Paradigm had cashed my check for this June 2013 condo fee. When I called Paradigm after receiving Dick's email, a Paradigm representative stated that Paradigm's own computer system showed my balance as 0 (zero) in spite of Dick's conflicting email. Tensions in our small building began to run at an all-time high. A fellow unit owner/trustee screamed at me in our parking lot to "pay your fees" while Paradigm used my large prepaid fees for an unknown assessment and stated my fees were unpaid when in fact they were. (I have Dick's June 5th email stating I was not paid and copies of the May 6th cashed check clearly showing that I was). Within the past year or so, I paid TWO assessments AND my condo fee was increased AND the increase was raised RETROACTIVELY and $16,000 was split amongst 13 owners and spent on one-single item that I whole-heartedly disagree with, did not consent to and wasn't even asked about for such a large decision on my own property behalf and home. Some of the last words a neighbor said to me as I moved out was "they are spending us into ruins". I felt Paradigm's ability to bill me for whatever they agreed with the trustees became an exploitation of me and my home. read more

This company management displays a repeated and consistent condescending and disrespectful attitude toward owners. I have never in my life been treated and spoken to with so much lack of respect. The office staff has made multiple mistakes on their end that impact owner fees or repairs, and then the staff and management make owners go through hoops and hours of work to prove that the mistake was on the office end. The office staff knows almost nothing about the property they support, so questions cannot be answered by staff; "I don't know" is the common answer. Property manager is never on site for repairs, inspections or when their other contracted vendors perform work, and Paradigm doesn't do regular walk throughs of the property to check vendor performance. read more
