Parking is very limited and very expensive. We asked our server if the parking validation had a time limit and he said that no, we had plenty of time. What he meant was that there was a a four hour limit from the time we came in. We spent $65 on parking. Lunch was mediocre, it definitely wasn't worth the price we paid. The outdoor seating on the sand is a nice touch, but it's gimmicky and I could not see myself going again without family visiting from out of town. All in all, there's much nicer beaches and restaurants in the area where you won't be charged an arm and a leg.

Paradise Cove Beach is absolutely beautiful. It is a spot that if you don't know about it you'll miss it. It's exclusive. It's expensive. I mean it's $65 to park there to have beach access. That a lot of money. And that's just to park, but it is a slice of heaven that I highly recommend. If you can find street parking and walk down go for it... and if you can't, it is worth a $65. If you get breakfast at the café. They will give you a $15 validation. And that is good for four hours so that's my advice. Get some breakfast. Get a bloody maria chill out and you got four hours 15 bucks great food. We had the number three omelette and it was fantastic.

Paradise Cove, My Little Gem in Malibu! This place is my go-to spot for a perfect beach day. I absolutely love their day beds with umbrellas -- such a relaxing way to soak in the sun and ocean breeze. The staff is always friendly and attentive, but I have to give a special shoutout to Juan. His service is outstanding and truly keeps me coming back. He goes above and beyond every single time ...not just saying this, they really do work hard and deserve all the positive feedback! Yes, weekend rates can be a bit pricey (around $150), but for the experience, it's worth it. As a local, I can honestly say that everything about the café and beach setup feels like pure California dreaming!

Pretty, yet ridiculously expensive! Easily one of the most expensive beaches outside of private country club situations that I've been to! Parking is $45 on weekdays and $65 on weekends and that price is purely in order to access the beach! The price drops a bit if you eat at the restaurant- but really it equals out to more because you have a $30 minimum and most items on the menu Cost much more than that. Plus even if you spend over the minimum at the restaurant, you still have to be done and off the property within 4 hours otherwise you pay $65. Other downside Is to access the beach, it's pretty difficult and not very ada accessible. You have an option to rent a space for $150 or sit in the chairs getting splashed on for free. Either way, if you come, eat at the restaurant, rent a beach space and chill you're gonna pay a hefty fee ((to me possibly not to you)) and still have to let them hold $65 for parking directly in the sand.. I don't know, once the prices were broken down for me, I knew I didn't belong there figuratively and literally and needed to get off them people's beach expeditiously!! I left and drove down the street to Zuma Beach where the parking was $15 and I could chill as long as I wanted!

We came here for Friday lunch and had a fantastic experience! We were seated right away and lucked out with an outdoor table facing the beach--absolutely beautiful setting. We started with the calamari, which was perfectly cooked--tender and full of flavor. I ordered the Kobe beef ribs, which were a bit too sweet for my taste, but the saffron rice that came with it was delicious and made up for it. We ended our meal with a Haagen-Dazs milkshake--such a treat! Parking was a breeze compared to weekends. It was $10 with validation (otherwise $45 if you're not dining--yikes!). Friday noon turned out to be the perfect time to visit. Great food, easy parking, and a relaxing beach view made for an awesome beach day!

Terrible experience! This place is a complete rip-off. We paid $150 just to rent a cabana for the day, spent over $350 on food, and on top of that had to pay $65 for parking. Absolutely outrageous! A bunch of opportunists clearly taking advantage of customers. I will never come back and do not recommend this place to anyone.

    The quesadilla!

I have eaten at the cafe for years and always get the bbq shrimp quesadilla. Today, there were pieces of something else inside- I was told "probably cross contamination meat". Disgusting! And the guacamole was so old- look at the pics! I wish I'd seen it before I ate what I did!

We come here often with our family and we do really enjoy sitting in the covered patio. We also sit outside near the water but the seagals always try and take your food. It get annoying especially when your with kids. What we love about this restaurant is the setting and that the outside tables and chairs sit on the sand. The kids get to play with the sand while you enjoy your meal and drinks with a beautiful view. The food isn't great but it's good when you have this view. We always get the kids cheese burger for our kids. They have large portions so the order is good for two toddlers. I tried the trio taco plate this time and I wasn't happy with the rice nor the steak. I normally get fish and I honestly think that's the better choice unless you want a burger. We also got the burger with bacon and that was good. All in all, totally worth going especially during the day. You get to enjoy the water views and eat at the same time.

I like that you can bring your own alcohol here! I brought a half bottle of wine and charcuterie board snacks to have my own picnic and had a great time watching the sunset. Originally I wanted to have the picnic on the beach but by Saturday afternoon the tide was too high and the beach itself was littered in trash and seagulls. I highly suggest backing into one of the spots by the pier and having the picnic in your trunk. Public bathrooms available and they were much better than using the cafe's because there's never lines for the public ones outside the cafe but once it's dark out, there aren't any lights inside! Parking prices are horrendous but you can get some drinks at the cafe to meet the minimum for cheaper validation easily. The specialty drinks are quite expensive so choose wisely and inquire about pricing.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, and I fell in love with the view from my first time here, so I had to come back. I love that you can sit on the sand while enjoying the beautiful scenery. The portion sizes are generous, so be mindful of how much you order. It's a great spot to come with family and share dishes. While much of the food is fried, the flavors are great, and the sauces are incredibly tasty. The service was attentive; our server checked in regularly and made sure we had everything we ordered. I highly recommend making a reservation, as this place gets quite busy. Before I forget! The cocktails are amazing !

You pay for the ambience. There are very few places you can put your feet in the sand, have an ocean front table and enjoy for good food. It's pricey but you are paying for the view and experience. Clam chowder was good but tiny for the price. Mexican street corn was delicious. Fish and chips were large and worth the price as well as the coconut shrimp. Service was slow, took a while to get waters, everyone seemed flustered and rushed. Overall the experience was nice and worth the price for the experience.

We had a reservation for 9:15 am on the Sunday before Memorial Day. We came early and were promptly seated! We had a indoor seat with a window view which was nice since the weather was on the cooler side. Our server was quick to take our orders and our food arrived at a great time. We ordered: + damn good eggs - and they were "damn good". Plenty of sausage and thick bacon mixed with veggies and a side of potatoes. + the chilaquiles - awesome, not too soggy since the chips were tossed in the sauce The servings are huge!! They validate parking but it's not free- it's discounted This restaurant is a good place to people watch. Lots of fun car enthusiasts come to hang out and other people coming to relax and hang out by the beach.

    Virgin Mojito

Nothing beats the view at this place. The proximity to the beach, and the sound of the ocean all add to the amazing experience. But the food leaves a little to be desired. Unless we ordered poorly. I had a virgin mojito- well made, perfect balance and very refreshing. My guest ordered a virgin pina colada - it tasted like vanilla ice cream with a hint of pineapple and absolutely no coconut flavor. I ordered the sashimi grade ahi tuna which was sesame crusted and seared. Well (not over) cooked. But that's where it ends - the wedge of tuna didn't look like it belonged on a sandwich. I don't eat bread so it didn't matter much to me, and in hind sight I should have just ordered it on a bed of lettuce. My friend ordered a BBQ tuna melt. It came out with no BBQ sauce on it. The coleslaw was soupy. There was so much dressing that it felt more like the dressing was the star and the cabbage the condiment. It had a one dimensional flavor to it. The fries were absolutely delicious. Right amount of crunch, well seasoned and were the star of the meal. $100 for 2 virgin drinks and 2 sandwiches. And what the heck is a 5% environmental fee? That's a new one for me.

How do we reserve lounge chairs?

If you mean those beach chairs, I was told they are first come first served. I was told people come early in the morning and take them. I don't believe there is a time limit on them. I think once you get them, you can stay all day but I might be… Read more

How dose this work for a beach chair rental?

There's a kiosk when you walk in, just follow the path to the ocean. You can rent chairs there! They already have them set up in ones and twos. I remember it was an affordable price for the day. But go early so you have your pick!

Do they still charge $60 for parking or is it the reg $8?

If you eat at the restaurant you can park for $8 for up to 4-5 hours with validation.

We've all heard of PTSD…read more... You know, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. But have you heard of PDSB?? (I'll break this one down in a bit) Well, if you've read any of my other reviews of the picturesque beaches in Southern California, your PTSD of "here we go again, another review about white sandy beaches, moderate temp. waters and picture perfect sunsets" by Lance L. just might kick in. But bear with me, because this review, you're definitely not gonna want to skip. So what is PDSB you ask? Well Point Dume State Beach of course! Yes, one of Malibu's finest & for good reason too! Sure, when everyone thinks about beaches in Malibu... For those with families, It's usually Zuma Beach, but that's where EVERYBODY goes and because of this, it's ALWAYS packed! And of course, there's where all the surfers go.... Surfrider Beach, hence the name! But Surfrider is for hangin' 10 and you just might get a big stare down by the locals. But Point Dume State Beach or PDSB as I know you will now refer to it is about to be your new favorite. Here's why: A pay lot which sounds like it sucks to have to pay just to go to the beach, but the minimal cost ($6-$15 depending the season) is worth it. The lot is literally parallel to the beach and once you park, you are right on the sand! In addition, Point Dume State Beach, although smaller than Zuma is pretty decent because it's not as well known about so you will definitely find a place to plant that umbrella and set up your beach towel to watch the kids play, throw a football around or work on your tan lines. As far as Safety, Not only is lifeguard towers right on the sand, but a lifeguard headquarters office is also onsite, so if something goes south, help is very nearby. Point Dume State Beach does have fairly maintained, public restrooms that's are serviced regularly by the beaches and harbors maintenance team as well as a few porta-potties onsite for use. The beaches themselves are clean and do not have a lot of trash, debris or tar like some of the beaches that I've been to up North on the Ventura County Side (Oxnard & Ventura beaches). And the best part, some of the best sunsets you can catch on this part of the coastline. Besides the actual beach, you can actually hike from the beach side itself up the Point Dume hiking trail to get an even better view or jump off the cliff if you dare. But.... Please, Please, Just make sure you are a solid swimmer if you are a real swimmer thrill seeker as the water near the cliff is rocky and the currents are very unforgiving. There are always calls for service where Lifeguards, Firefighters and the Sheriff's department are on scene performing rescues, but unfortunately, sometimes are unsuccessful and people have tragically drowned. So maybe leave the Olympic style diving into the Big Blue to the pros. And now that you probably have actual PTSD from me telling you how you could actually die if you aren't careful.... Maybe just shake it off and get some PDSB instead and enjoy the Best of Malibu from the safety of your seat right on the sand! "Life's a Beach, Enjoy it!"

Parking wise, there's street parking along PCH, paid parking lot on PCH, street along the beach as well as another paid lot on the beach. We arrived around 11:30 and luckily found street parking along the beach. It was nice out, sunny and a good amount of people along close to the water. We found a spot and made ourself comfortable. There was a good half dozen or so school buses parked where the volleyball courts are. Either a summer camp or school is back in session and it was a beach day. The odd thing, after an hour we arrived, the clouds started to roll in. Within minutes, it went from sunshine to overcast and gloomy. Stayed like that for a good hour and half. Even looking out to the hillside, it was so gloomy that you couldn't see down the beach. When the clouds burned off, it was back to beautiful beach weather. Lifeguard towers were in full force.
