The hotel was nice and neat with friendly staff when we checked in. We were here for a hockey tournament so there were a lot of us and they were patient and got us checked in without a long wait. The room was clean and nicely sized.... Considering I had to have a hockey bag in there I didn't feel squished like I was expecting. There was still plenty of room for the suitcase and us to move around. I loved the fact the restaurant (a Chinese / Cdn food place) and a Tim's is attached to the hotel - so despite the fact it was -30 with the windchill we could still enjoy food and drink without having to step outside. Perfect! There's a pool with waterslide (the hot tub was closed for repairs when we were there) but the kids all loved this feature. They kept the towels well stocked and it was nice because there was a little sofa for those of us not going in the water to be able to sit and watch the kids and not just stand around. They thought of it all.... Except the wifi. While the wifi is free (which is nice) it didn't work well. It was cutting in and out all night long and if I really wanted to get something done, I needed to be on my 3G. Which essentially meant, the work I thought I would be able to get done, didn't get done so that was not so good but maybe that means you get a break from work??? Not such a bad thing on occasion. And, maybe the wifi was just bad because there was just SO many kids on it.... I'd be willing to give it another try the next time I'm passing through. Whenever that might be! read more

Paradise Inn & Suites - Hotels Near Me - Valleyview, Alberta

Recently stayed at this hotel during a work trip to the Valleyview area. The Inn looks decent from the outside-in, the daytime staffs were a gem. However, I had an issue reaching out to the night time front desk staff. When I finally did, she came off cold and distant, answering rudely when I inquired about the hotel's wifi password. I was made to feel like I was doing something wrong or being bothersome by asking about the wifi info to work on reports. The room I stayed in was very clean and spacious, well organized as well if I might add. They offer continental breakfast to guests from 5-10am and there's a lovely new local restaurant attached to the hotel called The Boss. As well as a Tim Horton's, if you fancy good'ol Tim's. Had an amazing stay, had a soothing, sound nights rest; a much appreciated plus if you have to be up for 6am for work. Wouldn't mind staying in the location again, provided they offer more protein for breakfast read more

I stayed at this Paradise Inn location early May 2017, this is my review I wrote on Google at the time: I'm staying at Paradise for 5 nights due to work. I had a single king sized bed to myself. The room is clean, the bed is comfortable, I would say that the pillows a way too soft for my liking, so if you like more support like I do - bring your own or you're out of luck. My biggest gripe and the reason I've taken off a star is because of the horrendous WiFi. I know I shouldn't expect much for hotel Internet in a small town but you should expect roughly 50kb/s with static web pages taking ages to load. A continental breakfast is included, with a timmies and Chinese restaurant accessible from the inside of the hotel. The work out room consists of a couple dumbbells and handful few machines (treadmill included). Pool has a hot tub and slide. read more

I usually use Yelp to help me find a decent place to stay when I am going somewhere I have never been before. I am guessing because Valleyview is so small, not many Yelpers get up here. Very modern, very clean. Comfortable beds. Pets welcome. Huge parking lot. They have a pool and an exercise room available. They didn't have the type of room that I had reserved, so I was given a free upgrade to a room with a kitchenette. Nice touch! I have back issues, so I really can't comment to whether or not the bed was super comfortable. I had a good sleep. The website advertises some fancy kind of mattress on the beds. It was a nice quiet night. The Cons: The snack machines were not working. The "Deluxe Continental Breakfast" was not what I was expecting. Cereal, instant oatmeal, coffee, milk, juice, pieces of fruit, etc. No non-dairy alternatives. (I usually bring my own!) All in all a great stay and some very friendly, helpful staff! read more

Rooms were clean, but lobby is a bit messy due to construction. My biggest complaint is that they are severely understaffed, front desk has to respond to housekeeping & maintenance requests. Front desk person in the morning doubles as breakfast buffet attendant. Breakfast is adequate but minimal. Our room key didn't work & it took 3 trips to front desk to get one that actually opened the door. Cable TV is minimal. Wifi was slow. They have a pool and water slide but I didn't use it. The room is clean ish (there were other people's personal belongings in the drawers). The front desk person I dealt with was friendly and helpful, but the second one was very crabby. And the night shift guy was AWFUL. He took forever to answer the phone and once he did his TV was so loud, he couldn't hear me and he refused to tell the other guests to be more respectful. There was a very loud party at 3 am in the room across from mine, they were yelling down the hall, slamming doors, knocking on doors, needless to say I had a terrible sleep. If you are expecting a good place to sleep, don't come here. The price is also very high. But I was in a situation where I couldn't be picky on price. The wifi is horrible, the TV was fuzzy. read more
