The teachers often come across as rude and seem more focused on enforcing dress code policies than providing quality education and meaningful lessons. Everything seems centered around money, and some wealthy families appear to receive special recognition not because of their children's achievements, but because of their financial donations to the school. But yet again, this is the job they signed up for, and they must have proper work etiquette. There is also a problem in eighth grade with pressuring into vaping and teen s*x which is not managed as much as it should. A lot of the kids there are a very bad influence. I am a former student attending this school from kindergarten through 6th grade. I can recommend…read morethis school up to third grade. Fourth grade and up is when things got questionable for me. The instruction was mostly good, with interesting lessons and projects, but the way discipline was delt with was enough for me to rate it 1-star Fourth grade was when the teachers started heavily restricting students from simply being kids, and expecting us to be as mature as someone twice our age. In fourth grade alone we probably spent more than two weeks having "silent lunches". Fith grade improved, but only after 3 teachers got fired and re-hired. Part of this is because almost none of the teachers at this school have their certificate (because it's a charter school). Sixth grade only brought more issues with teachers, instructing students like it's high school or even college-level classes. I think I had 3 teachers in sixth grade that formally worked in high schools or middle schools, that got fired, and joined benchmark as almost a "last resort" for both parties. Teachers were constantly being fired or moved around. My younger brother now goes to Benchmark. He cries basically every day before and after school. He was threatened twice with suspension for messing around in the bathroom. This is why I am writing this. I don't think that this is fair or ethical. You shouldn't scare 5th graders like that for just being themselves. There just kids. Please stop. At least deal with this in a way where the student can learn from their mistakes. The students have also been lectured on using "inappropriate internet culture". I talked to my brother about this and he says that a majority of his class doesn't know what sort of material they are referencing when they use "internet culture", and the school isn't teaching them to learn, they are just, yet again, threatening suspension to any student who uses anymore "adult content" in their language. Overall, this school doesn't let kids be kids, doesn't seem to know how to hire good teachers, and can't seem to let kids learn from their mistakes. 1/10 would not recommend.

Overall, I had a pleasant experience being at NPX and graduating in 2025. However, there are a few…read morethings you should know about. For one, there are certain challenged children in the school that make it quite difficult to safely learn. I remember back in my wee ol days of freshman year, one of my fellow students threw a rock at my teacher. Another separate incident with a different student involved said student shoving another kid's hydroflask as far as he could down the toilet pipes, effectively disintegrating our school pipes. The same kid that threw the rock as mentioned previously, performed a parkour routine in the bathroom that led to 4 critically injured and one still in a coma to this day. I was one of the unfortunate souls affected by this great tragedy, otherwise known as "The Great Bathroom Reckoning". I think the teachers are great, save for one in specific that had a thing for kids, along with another teacher who steals baby photos and keeps them in their personal collection. The food they offer at lunch is decent at best. I once contracted Aids from one of their sandwiches, which ended up making sure I will never bear a child. They have since patched this glitch, and have been supplying better food since that incident. However, the vending machines are very expensive, and are likely linked to human trafficking. This has yet to be proven, but is actively being investigated upon by local authorities. Finally, the school dances. I simply requested that they play a certain jack black song, only for them to instead play Benson Boon and California Women. The events are often lackluster, aside from the occasional moment where the aforementioned mentally unstable children will partake in fights to the near death on top of the roof, whilest streaming it live on instagram for their fanbase to witness. I used to be one of these, the common riff raff, but have since changed my ways after I got hit on the head with a 15 pound rock so hard, I developed memory loss and forgot that I was kind of special. One last thing. There was an incident where I was happily eating my Thursday pizza slices (which sadly the school had cheaped out on that specific day), where a teacher came up to me and started calling me a big back and told me I reeked of calories. I still talk to my therapist about that to this day. Overall, I think NPX is a good place to send your kids, but be weary at the cost of good education.

The teachers were caring, the kids learned so much and the structure was age appropriate that allowed children to thrive. Some of our favorite memories were: the poetry Bard competition, literature day (dress up like your favorite book character for Halloween), Greek style Olympics (all day field day). The afterschool clubs are robust. Some of my kids favorite were: volleyball, basketball, football, dodgeball, soccer, sign language, art club, and drawing club.

They also used to have the best school musicals year after year because Mrs. Dukeshier weren't to be missed. Her choral offerings are something to see.
