This company is not trustworthy. I signed my wife up for instruction and she is not able to pass the physical. The initial cost was to include a first flight which did not occur. However, they will not even do a partial refund for a return of the unused materials and for the flight that did not happen. read more

My son recently inquired about flight training at Paragon. He was told that before he could begin anything that he had to give them a $500 "deposit". After just a couple of days and a little research, he decided not to take flight lessons. Mind you, he never did anything at the flight school, no discovery flight, no paperwork, nothing... the "deposit" suddenly became a "fee" for their time and they will not issue him a refund! For my first time flying a plane, I had a Professional Flight Instructor (Rhett De Pol) . I was very nervous at first but he show me the ropes and details about the plane and how the plane works. First and foremost I'd like to say I used to be a student pilot with paragon. I only left due to the cost of the flight school was too expensive for me to continue with them and I left to go to a more inexpensive flight school. With that said: i scheduled a discovery flight for my girlfriend for an 8 am flight on 8/19. We received a call a few days later asking us to reschedule due to the instructors time conflicting with our scheduled appointment. We rescheduled for the same day at 10 am. We received another call asking us to reschedule again. We rescheduled for 8/20 at 8 am. We received another call asking us to reschedule. We rescheduled for 10 am for 8/20. We received yet another call to reschedule for 2 pm on 8/20 and by this time I was so aggravated and insulted that I asked why they keep calling to reschedule. The lady stated that the time conflicted with the flight instructors and that the weather was supposed to be bad for that day. I told them if they were going to continue to reschedule us to just cancel the flight. We'll go elsewhere to schedule a flight. Then we received phone calls asking us to vote for paragon flight for best flight school. No way would I vote for them when they won't even give us the time of day. The weather for both days, mind you was beautiful. Paragon lost a potential customer simply because they can't be true to their word and hold the schedules they make. It makes me wonder if they do this for all their students. I certainly hope not. Would not recommend. There are cheaper flight schools. Look elsewhere. read more

So much FUN! If you decide one day that you want to learn to fly, the flight instructors at Paragon are the BEST!! Super professional, highly trained, and above all, very safe. I am not the one getting my license but I did fly with a friend who is getting his and it was just the most amazing experience. We did a night flight and day flight. During both,the flight instructor demonstrated his total awareness of his surroundings and complete knowledge of proper flight protocol. Although I have only flown with one of the instructors at Paragon, I know that all of the other instructors currently working there are each extremely equipped and trained to fly and teach. If you've got any questions, stop by the school! Everyone is so nice and very willing to answer any and all questions. Flying with these guys has been one of the highlights of my life. Great experience at Paragon Flight Training. I bought a Groupon for an Intro Flight Lesson for my boyfriend. I live in Denver so I scheduled the appointment on the phone and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Everyone was super friendly at the office when we came in for our appointment, too. Our instructor was very professional, extremely knowledgeable and highly engaging. He answered all questions we had and explained the process thoroughly. He demonstrated all the safety features and always reassured us that any mistake we made, he could 'unfix.' We always knew we were safe. I bought my son a series of flights from Paragon Flight Training, for Christmas. He tells me that it was the best Christmas present he ever had! He had a wonderful time. His flight instructor was Cameron: a really great guy, who was just prefect for him and allowed him to learn at his own pace, giving him a wonderful experience and sending him back to London with some nice pictures. But then, all the staff at Paragon were professional, knowledgeable, efficient and helpful. They made the whole flying experience fun as well as exciting and safe. Paragon is a perfect example of what is wrong with the flight training industry. Their instructor turn over rate is awfully high. After 2 years, only Kelsey and Jeff remained as flight instructors, and they only do commercial training. The rest simply use flight instruction as a way to advance their own careers. If you are a brand new pilot or are working on your IFR, you will be assigned to a flight instructor who just got his/her certifications. You pay high prices for low quality. There are flight instructors all around Page Field who have thousands of hours of experience, enjoy the process of teaching, and will do it at a fraction of the price. The attitude at Paragon is that of a high class country club. They're definitely elitist, and they are sensitive about what they know (or rather don't know). Flight instructors are human beings first and foremost, and people make mistakes. It takes a real flight instructor to continuously learn with his or her students. A Paragon flight instructor will be offended if his or her knowledge is put in to question. They are for the most part young kids who come from privileged homes. I love general aviation, and I know there are some at Paragon who love it too. But the structure of this organization clearly puts money first. At the end of the day it is up to the pilot to be in charge of his or her own flight instruction. I write this review as someone who has gone through the process and have flown with over 30 instructors in both part 141 and part 61 programs. read more

Paragon, meaning ideal, or a standard of excellence defines this flight school. They have it all. I progressed through my Private Pilot with them, and am now working on Instrument, and I have no complaints to be heard. The training there is unparalleled. All of the staff is professional and friendly at the same time. Each instructor is picked from an elite group of professionals because they are right for the job. The training is, as I said, unparalleled. It is affordable, when compared with the training at other schools across the country, and was rated in the top 50 flight schools in the nation by Flight Training Magazine. It's hard to quite put into words and describe what makes Paragon special, in comparison to the others in the tri-county area, or even in other states. I've been to at least 9 smaller-scale flight schools like Paragon in Florida and Indiana, and there has just been something about the atmosphere that feels different. Paragon runs all newer planes and a simulator, with glass-cockpit displays, which let's face it, is the way that aviation is going folks. The planes are maintained beautifully, even to the point that their rental and training scheduling is based down to the single hour a plane is allowed to be in service before needing a mandatory inspection or overhaul. That, right there alone, should instill in you confidence in their aircraft fleet. The interior of the building is also inviting. It is kind of an open area, with seating available, to give you a feeling of a homely atmosphere, instead of feeling like you're walking into a car dealership with a wall of cubicles or office doors like I've seen with other schools. The people involved, from the Chief Flight Instructor, to the other instructors, to the receptionists, and even some of the family members of those individuals that you may bump into from time to time, are a great bunch of people who compliment each other well as a whole. Personally speaking, for myself, who's had to endure multiple surgeries for a birth defect, and deal with health ailments that have come with the territory of the aforementioned. It's pretty safe to say I've never really had friends or in-person interaction, for that matter, that you would normally expect, that didn't result in one way or another shattering my dignity/self-confidence over said issues. Paragon is one of the few places where I can say I have been treated like a person, health issues, and appearance issues, etc aside. Which, judging by history of other instances, is no easy task, folks. That aside, Paragon does actually exert an effort into making each person who comes through that door feel like a member of the Paragon family, whether it is just in how they interact with you, the random events they hold once in a while, or even that nudge you'll get once in a while about when you're gonna finish some course work you still need to do, haha. These are a great bunch of people, I highly encourage you to stop looking at the sign out front inviting you to "Learn to Fly" here as you pass by in your car, and just go inside.
