I was lucky to visit this park on a sunny Sunday after a rainy week…read more Aka "Parque Reina de la Sal" (everything is named at least twice in Spain), the Los Balcones Park offers many things to do - picnic area, table tennis, basketball, bocce courts, dog park, playgrounds for kids and more. The upper part of the park has different varieties of trees and bushes planted, with some info about them on wooden plates. I was there at the end of August, and there is definitely traffic heading there from San Antonio right before sunset. There was also a LOT of people there during sunset. You can definitely still find a nice spot on the cliffside for yourself, but parking was hard to find. Basically, I found a spot about .5 mi from the view point, on the long dirt road leading to this spot. Many people were parked further than that, I got a little lucky. And if you arent used to driving stick-shift, navigating the hilly road can be difficult with a manual car. I ended up missing the actual sunset by 10 min, but the view is still gorgeous after :)

What the people want is the location of the beautiful view point you see in tons of photos . So allow me to share that right now so you too can experience it as I did last week =) The absolute BEST time to go is for sunset . A handful of people gather here to watch it so show up a little early to get a good spot. Stop by a market on the way to grab snacks and drinks to enjoy! Also maybe something to sit on like a blanket so your clothing doesn't get dirty. Maybe go earlier then that to make sure you find it OK. There's no actual address for the view point . As you drive down Cala d'Hort, you'll reach a 4 way uncontrolled intersection confusingly named Cala d' Hort as well -__-. Turn left onto the dirt road with garbage bins along the side of it (there's like 6 large garbage bins ) go down the dirt road . I had a scooter and was fine . It will get bumpy but it's fairly smooth dirt just take your time there's no rush. All cars can make it too. Follow the dirt road. You'll come face to face with a house property with a fence, go slightly right since its blocked off to go left (I think the owners blocked it). Eventually you'll turn slight left once you reach a narrow road in between brush and tress (don't go down there). You'll end up at a somewhat open area to park . *If you don't feel comfortable finding it yourself , you can always wait for a car or scooter to turn in and follow them* . Then walk toward the water / Es Vedra! You'll reach a flat lower area at the cliff of a clear and unobstructed view of Es Vedra (see attached photo ). I witnessed someone propose here that's how magical it is! I watched the sunset here the first night If you are facing Es Vedra and look left up the hill you'll see a slightly higher view point . Walk up the dirt path along the cliff (I did it in flip flops (changlas ) . Here you'll get another beautiful view ! (See attached photos ). I watched the sunset here the second and third night. But wait, there's more! I came a few hours early and walked the dirt trail even higher to the castle at the top top of the hill. It's a workout and you will get sweaty! I did it in my sandals haha not recommended. The view is amazing ! (See attached photos ). A must see when in Ibiza ! I really hope this helped ! Salina de La Mata (green/blue water) is great for walking, running, cycling and birds watching. The information center of the park (aka "Vistor's Centre" or "Centro de interpretación Parque Natural la Mata-Torrevieja" in Spanish) is located here: 38.025134, -0.658438. Salina de Torrevieja (pink water). You can get down to the lake to swim and bathe. Drive to Calle de las Lavandores (37.996916, -0.700556), park there, walk towards the lake (100-150 m). The salinity level is very high, you can float. Mud is in abundance. The best time to visit is from June to September. There's no infrastructure Update June-10-2017. If I had a day to spend Id try and walk the whole thing out to the outskirts of the western parts of the city. It is quite huge. It's interesting that this city planning and beautiful space came out of the tragedy of the city flooding and the new river, which is almost completely barren on the outside of the city is down trodden. Anyways, there is way more to explore than meets the eye, and a bonus is on hot days, it's usually more temperate in the gardens below

This park is one of the best things in Valencia. It is really long, easy to access, full of…read moreplaygrounds, sport fields, places to hangout and picnic, skate parks, ping pong tables, paths for bicycle, running and walking, and more. In some parts of the park (near the sport fields), there are also cafes. The atmosphere is really nice and relaxing. The best time to visit is of course during summer, but it is also nice to visit all year long because it is not that cold in Valencia anyway. However there are many more people during summer, for example it gets more difficult to ride a bike during that time. The distance of the park spreads from the City of Art and Science until Bio Park on the other end. I love riding my bike along the bicycle path. I usually access the park from the side that is near Bio Parc and ride until Alameda. It is also safer to go by this way than through the traffic. Also, there are people who skate and roller blade. The only negative thing about this park is that there are many dog poops on the grass where is suppose dot be for people to chill out. Yo have to be careful where to lay on the grass or to find a place for picnic. During the night, it seems safe enough to pass through the park. I sometimes walk back from my work through the park around 9:30 pm and there were still a number of people. One highlight is the Gulliver Park situated within this park. it's got many slides for children. Very fun to visit! I highly recommend this place!

The rest of the national park and beach is pretty bland. We stayed here for 5 nights and 1 was enough. May have been more interesting if the rice fields were in full swing and not just empty fields of mud. Apparently this is where Paella was born!!
