For example, earlier this week I went in for my regularly scheduled annual exam and Dr. Hansel noticed too much wax in my right ear. I was looking for a physician who would exhibit a true concern for my health and accept the responsibility​ for my overall health by coordinating​​ the work of my specialists. As stated, as time went on, Dr. Matthews became​ less and less helpful to my medical needs and appeared more withdrawn and consequently became unable to meet my needs. Many of my health questions were answered​ with "I don't treat that"s. After my NEXT TO LAST visit​ with her, I made arrangements to be accepted into another doctor's practice; and I did not inform her of such acceptance on our last visit during which she indicated on paper that I was a "complex case" which she could not handle but would see me until I found a new physician. I am very very pleased​ with my new physician's training, interest​ in details​, pleasant attitude, and feel that I am receiving TOP medical attention. I am very aware of the changes in the medical field as it relates to the physicians' practices. I am doing much better on medicines that have been totally eliminated​ or reduced in quantity. When I have a need, I do not have to spend an entire day​ waiting for a response or possibly being seen EVEN during that week, much less the next day, which was the case with two of my serious needs as follow-up from ER. In essence, I can only assume that did not fit into the "classification​" of the majority of her patients.

While Dr James Thompson is a good doctor, his staff leaves a lot to be desired. Scheduling an…read moreappointment with Dr. Thompson is a grueling and frustrating experience. If you get to speak with someone on the first call you generally can not get an appointment day of or even week of. I had a medical issue on a weekend and went to Urgent Care. Urgent Care told me if I was not better in 3 or 4 days to see my Dr. I called because I was not better and was told the earliest appointment would be 19 days out. 19 Days! I explained the urgency of the situation and said that I would like to see another Doctor in his office. Nothing was available and the nurse suggested I contact Urgent Care. Perfect, and I just told her Urgent Care told me to see my Doctor. This is not the first time that I have had a hard time scheduling an appointment with Dr. Thompson, but it is going to have to be the last time. I like Dr. Thompson, but it is just to difficult to get an appointment. If you can schedule your sickness and aches and pains around their schedule then go for it, but I can not do it.

If you go in because you are having several issues going on......there may be a better way of relating to a patient instead of saying "I do not think you are hearing me". Hmmmm, bed side manner be damned. I was told I could make a series of twenty minute appointments to address each issue. It took me over a month to get this appointment. So, which issue do you decide is the most serious...think fast....times a ticking, and Dr. Singer will offer no help. So, is it your high blood pressure, the terrible pain in your sternum....your IBS......sleeplessness. Oops, times up. Thanks for the visit, make another appointment. No thanks, I want a Doctor that remembers the hypocratic oath. And cares just a tad about there patient.
