    Cappucino
    Regina M.

We came here for breakfast this morning as a recommendation from a tour guide. We waited a couple minutes to be seated. I tried their salmon avocado toast, croissant, and cappuccino, all of them were delicious. The croissant was the best I've ever had. It was perfectly crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. If I could, I'd want to eat all their pastries. My boyfriend tried their quiche Lorraine with a salad, it was delicious too. The food was amazing. The service was ok, it couldn't been more attentive but I understand because they were so busy. I highly recommend you come here for breakfast or lunch when in Vienna. You can buy their pastries, quiches, and bread to go as well.

Wow. Just wow. Not only was the service amazing, Restaurant beautiful, food delicious, I had the best croissant of my life here at this restaurant. It was recommended by a friend and I wish I went back for another experience! I was glad one of the waitresses spoke English since the menu wasnʻt. And she helped me order. It was even better than the Croissants in France! So buttery, flakey, soft, warm. My god, do NOT hesitate to come to this restaurant/cafe. The line can be long but worth the wait!

Some of the best value pastries in town. Delicious and fresh, well prepared at a reasonable price. Nice strong coffee too. Brilliant breads(especially baguette!!) ..must try it at least once.

A bit expensive but it worth it. We have tried the jasmine tea and pistachiopastryy and both were really good.

We waited in the takeout line for about 15 minutes and ate the best Kaiserschmarrn ever! Something I didn't even know existed until visiting Vienna. Highly recommend checking out this spot!

I visited Demel Vienna on August 19 during breakfast. I have always loved Demel from my previous…read morevisits, and I know it is a world-renowned and historic establishment, which is why this experience was especially disappointing. I ordered my usual Kaiserschmarrn and a drink. I had noticed that the table next to me had a drink that looked good, so when the waitress took my order, I specifically told her that I wanted the same drink the table next to me was having. When my order arrived, it was brought by a different waitress. The drink looked completely different from what I had pointed to, so I asked her what it was. She told me it was a double espresso. I explained that I had not ordered a double espresso and again pointed to the drink at the table next to me, which was clearly a hot chocolate. The waitress then called over the waitress who had originally taken my order. Instead of simply acknowledging that there had been a misunderstanding, she insisted, "That's what you ordered." When I explained again that it wasn't, she told me, "It's the same thing." A **double espresso and a hot chocolate are obviously not the same thing.** What bothered me even more than the incorrect order was the way both waitresses spoke to me. Their attitudes and tone were extremely rude, dismissive, and demeaning--as though I was stupid for pointing out the obvious mistake. The interaction became uncomfortable enough that people sitting at other tables were looking over at us. To make matters worse, my Kaiserschmarrn was **cold**. It tasted as though it had already been sitting out for some time before it was brought to my table. I understand that mistakes happen. Had they simply apologized for the misunderstanding and corrected the drink, I would not have had an issue. Instead, I was argued with and spoken down to over something that could have been resolved in seconds. This was genuinely one of the worst customer-service experiences I have ever had at a restaurant, and certainly not what I expected from an establishment with Demel's reputation. After several previous visits that I enjoyed, it is extremely disappointing to say that I will not return and will no longer recommend Demel to my friends.

There was a spread that included with an assortment of an egg, cheese, bread, spreads, meats and fruit. As a typical Viennese breakfast, nothing was lacking! The fruit was seasonably ripe and fresh. The bread...the bread was a great with not too light, not too heavy texture. The cold Chai latte was to die for...so GOOD. I was shaking my head the whole time at how good everything was. It is a bit pricy, but worth the experience.

Everything looks gorgeous and breathtakingly beautiful, BUT the taste is not there. It is overall too sweet. The pistacchio dacquoise has benzaldehyde flavoring which I detest. The cream was real pistachio but was pretty heavy and sweet - didn't sit well with me. The Ribisel-Cremeschnitte was good, tart and sweet, but still, the cream too heavy. The vanilla cake was heavy and sweet. I mean heavy regarding double fat cream, the mouthfeel is light but you feel the fat content afterwards. Breakfast was ok - a slice of bread and brioche with jam (a little off tasting) and spread. Breakfast with coffee and pastry was 20€ which in my mind is too expensive for what it is. I wouldn't complain if the taste is as amazing as the looks. I really had high hopes for this place.

The pasta however lacked flavor and needed more salt. For dessert I got their House Tort and my daughter got a strawberry tart. My daughter's tart was probably the best strawberry tart I've ever eaten. The strawberries were perfectly ripe and the vanilla cream inside and the crust all balanced perfectly. My chocolate tort was pretty good but not amazing like my daughter's. The room we sat is was lovely with ornate ceilings and beautiful chandeliers. We didn't have a reservation so we had to wait about 15 minutes for a table, and this was at 2:15 in the afternoon. Our server was very attentive. I'd return and get the strawberry tart!
