Their aguas frescas were the highlight for me so fresh and flavorful. I ordered the watermelon with extra ice and it genuinely tasted like it had just been made. Absolutely delicious. For food, we kept it simple and ordered variations of their carne asada tacos. We tried the caramelo (with cheese), a mixed one with tripe and carne asada, and the standard carne asada tacos. They were decent, but the carne asada itself didn't quite have that grilled flavor we were expecting; it tasted more like it was cooked on a pan. Not bad by any means, just different from what we had hoped for. They do have a large menu with plenty of other options such as tortas, hot dogs, and more, so there's definitely something for everyone. We didn't get a chance to try anything beyond the tacos this time, so we may need to come back and explore more.

The carne asada is my favorite but I can guarantee you that any burrito you choose off the menu is delicious. They bring you all the toppings and fixings and it's a large, covered-outdoor restaurant. So if you don't mind the great outdoors and possibly leaving smelling like smoke, definitely check it out. It practically hugs the border crossing into Mexico. Yes, really close. You can't miss The Higos Coffee And Chilorios because the windows are crammed with a list and photos of the food it serves. It's a less than subtle hint saying, please eat here! You should. I was the only person in the restaurant. That's unfortunate because the huevos rancheros, coffee, and chips were all very good and simply satisfying. If they had given me a megaphone, I could have been tempted to stand outside and testify.
