Crookies

Updating my review because I wanted to give this location another try...service is the same -meaning the workers don't know what they are doing. I tried using the $5 off $20 coupon but the workers said it "isn't working." Sadly I had to call the manager to scan my coupon....which worked! Im not trying to be mean but their customer service is frustrating. The manager was nice but the employees need customer service training. The green tea is YUK. I've been to the Scottsdale and locations and they are YUM! I have to say, I was glad to see they had crookies....they are really good and different.

(4.5) I had a really good experience here the other day. I'd recently made an account on their app and received a reward for one free pastry with a purchase. Using the app, I placed my order which was for a salted caramel pretzel latte and salted caramel pretzel croissant. On my way to pick it up, they called me to say they were out of the salted caramel croissant and offered me something else. I decided to choose something when I arrived. It wasn't very busy when I got there around 9am on a weekday. Lots of seating inside and a variety of pastries, cakes and sandwiches. It was also very clean with an area of trays and tongs to pick out what you want. I decided to try one of the "crookies" which was a cross between a croissant and chocolate chip cookie. It was really yummy, I liked the flakiness of the croissant and flavor of the cookie! The latte was also great too, not super sweet. I didn't really get the caramel/pretzel flavor, but still pretty good. Navi was working when I arrived and was very nice and helpful, making sure my latte was made fresh when I arrived. I would definitely come back here!

Got so excited because a new Paris Baguette opened up near where I live! Was surprised to see such a spacious and clean layout with plenty of seating compared to their location in Hmart. They offer a selection of specialty cakes and seasonal pastries. I've been indulging in their seasonal pastries and I will be coming back for more. I've been going here often to bring home treats for my family who don't live as close by. I didn't get the name of the cashier who was working at the time but she was amazing! She was very kind, detailed, and offered newly made pastries as some of what I got were crumbled but I didn't mind at all. She also offered brand new boxed cakes but again, I didn't mind. Thank you for such attention to detail and wonderful customer service! I love that they also have savory options and drinks as well. There is something for every taste bud. Unfortunately they don't have many gluten/dairy free options. I ordered: Signature Roll Cake -- 19.99 Cafe Mocha Roll Cake -- 19.99 - Spongy, addicting, and a subtle sweetness this is a family favorite of mine. Korean BBQ Pizzetta -- 5.99 (seasonal) - Savory in all the right places and a hint of sweet, I'd absolutely eat more than one but I needed to control myself. Dubai Chocolate Mochi Donut -- 4.99 (seasonal) - The perfect combination of the mochi chewiness, crunchy kataifi, and sweet chocolate, I love that it's not overly sweet and there's different textures throughout. What a masterpiece. Not a lot of places get the dubai chocolate right but this donut was great. Their individual pastries on average are pricier, but for a place like Paris Baguette it is well worth it. I will definitely be coming back to sit and try some menu items. Thank you!

Love Paris Baguette. Went to the one in Scottsdale and a location in California. You are just blown away by all the lovely pastries. They have a type of pastry for every person. Whether you want really sweet, salty or in between their pastries are the best. The coffee cronut had a nice creamy coffee inside, with the flaky crust. 10/10

I am so happy this location is open. The pastries are so delicious. Freshly prepared and the best part... everything is healthy, of great quality, and reasonably priced. Staff is very friendly. Service with smiles. There are so many desserts to try. Some consistent and some are different each day. There are sandwiches, cakes, coffee, tea's and so much more. My favorites so far are the red velvet slice of cake and the grilled cheese on sourdough. OMG so good!!!

Great Paris Baguette location, convenient for Phoenix folks. Prices are a smidge higher than the Asiana Market location, but that makes sense as it's a standalone location. Very clean and cute, larger than it seems and plenty of area to sit and enjoy your drink or treats. Tons of options and delicious breads, drinks, sandwiches, and sweet treats! Very nice employees and quick service.

Finally!

We were already on Baseline, so when we peeped Black Rock, we made a quick turn and made our way inside. The space is nice, and clearly fairly new, as is many other surrounding buildings and businesses. They are set up with a few 4 tops, a large communal table, lounge seating, an outdoor covered patio and of course a drive thru. We decided to hang out in the lounge seating, which was comfy and perfect for our brief visit. The menu is straightforward, has all the classics and a few specialty house items. The drinks are listed as bases essentially, and then you can build and flavor it however you want. That is exactly what we did with the shaken espresso. We added the blondie syrups, which were white chocolate and caramel, both sugar free, and a splash of oat milk...sweet and delicious! Was the perfect pick me up before heading to the game. Service was friendly and helpful. The staff were as efficient as they were friendly. It only took a few minutes to get our drinks. After a quick google, I see that Black Rock is a west coast based chain...which makes me sad, as I would LOVE to have one in Nashville. Maybe one day! Overall, stellar spot!

I was surprised to see that they had a drive-thru, but I ended up walking in to check out the whole establishment. It has a very GQ vibe with industrial decor, dark walls and leather-like seating. I dig it. Today, I wanted to check out their drip coffee to see if they would get the basics right, and they did. I asked for milk too, and they steamed it. It was a bold a nutty cup of delicious coffee that I paid a little over $3 for. I left a happy customer and I'll actually be back tomorrow!

In addition to coffee and tea, they serve pastries from Chacónne Patisserie and Noble Bread, which are both local legends. I stopped by Regroup Coffee on a random Saturday morning. Some of my favorite coffee in the valley, they use high quality coffee beans that really shines through in every drink- I love how their drinks are usually just subtly sweet and don't overpower the drink. I also love that they make some of their syrups in house, which really elevates the drinks they make. highly recommend the almond croissant if you're able to get one before they sell out, it's truly divine. Ive also tried their chai before, which was well spiced and balanced, the strawberry matcha is a great drink as well. I've also tried their protein slayer shake which was good (except i'm not the biggest fan of vegan protein powder). Looking forward to my next visit!

The ambiance, drinks, and service were all great! There is an entrance to Lola Coffee from Roosevelt and another from the back near parking spaces. There is a restroom near the back entrance, and the start to the line to place an order is right near the front entrance. I saw in one of the comfy chairs while I waited for my former student to arrive. At that point, we moved to a regular table and then went and ordered drinks. She ordered a coffee, and I ordered a lemonade. We both enjoyed our drinks which were ready very quickly. There were smaller and larger tables, and there were also countertops along with business cards and marketing items at the back of the room on a thin table. Lola Coffee began with humble beginnings going back to 1992 with a cart, then Lux Coffee, and eventually Lola Coffee downtown. Now, there is even a second Lola Coffee location in Arcadia near 40th Street and Indian School. Today, they serve coffee, pastries, and breakfast. The Downtown Phoenix location hours are weekdays from 6:30 AM to 7 PM and weekends from 7 AM to 7 PM. You can see their menu, history, photos, and more on their website (https://lolacoffeebarphx.com). While I had trouble choosing between a lemonade for a cold beverage or hot chocolate for a warm beverage, it's great they have so many options. Again, try them for drinks, breakfast, or pastries. Their staff is so helpful and the actual restaurant is quite welcoming to everyone.

Thankfully, Where U Bean has decaf espresso, which means I had lots of possible options for drinks. They offer direct trade coffee and organic teas, and homemade treats as well. Their drinks are creative and very tasty. I had the brown butter chocolate chip cookie with my coffee, and it was to die for. You can sit at tables and work, or sink in comfy couches and look around at the eclectic art. And eclectic it is, maybe my only semi-negative feedback is that it was hard to see how the name related to the decoration theme, or whether there was an overall theme at all. That's hardly a criticism though, I like places that go in many directions, it give them character. That wall of vinyls is epic! Parking was easy as the shop is located in a plaza. Plenty of spots available on a Sunday afternoon. Based on other reviews, it sounds like it's not always the case. Also, it's open until later compared to other coffee shops, which is nice if you want to spend an afternoon of teleworking. It was delightful and distinct with the date syrup and rose water. Next time I would choose almond milk because the oatmilk (+1. ) overpowered the delicate rose notes. To my surprise, gluten free food options were available at this non chain business. A chocolate chip almond cookie, peppermint bark cheesecake and an almond cake all tempted me. I went with the almond cake and enjoyed the fresh, moist, sweet treat that was topped with toasted slivered almonds. Winner. Even though I think the tab was a tad high for a morning coffee break ($16.36) I would return. I enjoyed my time here while observing the local patrons interact neighborly with each other. The homey community vibe oozed throughout this cafe which Starbucks doesn't provide. A charming cafe that seats 35 patrons inside and approximately 18 people outside. Stop on by.
