If you book a flat through Paris London Apartments, be prepared for your vacation to be ruined. The flat we booked was on Shaftesbury Ave in Covent Garden, London. Ten minutes after the check-in host left we noticed that both sets of keys she had given us wouldn't open the front door of the building. This was a problem because we couldn't leave the flat without knowing whether we could reenter. This was unacceptable from a standpoint of not only convenience but safety. And it was dinner time and we couldn't even leave to get food or explore London! We immediately called and texted the check-in host as well as the customer service number on the welcome materials and in our confirmation messages, but we received no reply whatsoever for two hours. I emailed the company owner and he told me to call a number through WhatsApp. I did so and he declined EVERY ONE OF MY CALLS. Finally he texted me and said he'd send someone to help us. When he did, this person had no replacement keys and struggled himself to open the door. He said that he'd heard this complaint a lot, and both he and his boss (whom we also spoke with) suggested that we try to get a refund. Otherwise they couldn't do anything more for us. There were other problems as well: 1) A non-functioning stove (the igniters for the gas burners were not working). 2) A television set that was unable to receive any channels. 3) Dirty carpeting throughout the apartment. 4) A large hole (about 10 inches across) in the hall ceiling. 5) A mattress in one of the bedrooms that seemed to have lost all padding over the springs. 6) The Wifi password in the welcoming materials was inaccurate. We left the apartment a few hours after checking in and found a hotel. The owner was not understanding and is refusing to do anything for us to compensate for his failure to provide a service we could reasonably expect. There's one more detail worth noting. After the deadline for cancelling and getting a refund passed, this company asked us for scanned photos of the passports of each guest staying at the flat. We thought this was odd but we complied. In retrospect, we've never had to do with this Airbnb or hotels in Europe or anywhere else. We're wondering why they needed this information. All in all, this was the worst customer service and lodging experience I've ever had in my life. I'll add to the chorus: I'm posting here because I did not have a chance to post the review under Expedia where I booked of which there were just two reviews which were decent. The location and the "Inside of the unit" was clean. The price per night was very reasonable for the location. I paid $339/night for my family of four for four nights. In comparison, I stayed at a regular traditional hotel the night before which was much,much nicer, great location but I paid $518/night. (You get what you pay for). What I didn't like: 1) run like a airbnb - You have to meet someone at a specific time to get into the apartment, 2) a charge of 30 british pounds was assessed to me. I checked in between 7-8pm. I paid since this was written in the agreement. I should have read closely of any charges. 3) you have to carry a set of 3 bulky keys to get in/out. 4) although pre-written (I did not read this closely) - they will charge a 400 british pounds damage deposit when you check in. This will be charged against the credit card originally used. In my case $503 usd went onto my credit card, my refund came back as $484 credit. So I lost $19 on the exchange. The worst thing is after 2.5 weeks I had to formally request this refund to get this deposit back. To my knowledge, this charge process is unusual even for a Airbnb! 5) I had to reboot their router 2-3 times because it would quit working. 6) Their TV hardly worked and was pixelated due to antennae. 7) The stairways were filthy, mouse traps, with old mail and dirt and just not vacuumed. I have pictures but I don't see how I can attach here. 8) The location is central and very noisy with wake ups at 3-5am for the trash guys to haul away all the beer bottle glass from the pubs (yeah really noisy). The unit had no AC and no fan - so you need to keep the window open with all the street noise. This experience hammers home I need to do more diligence when selecting a place. DO NOT RENT FROM THEM!!!!!! This property is very unprofessional. Very hard to get hold of. I reserved through VRBO (property number 1820214) and my stay was supposed to be at the end of March, 2020 at Paris during the Covid-19 world wide pandemic. I have tried to contact the property owner Paul unsuccessfully as have VRBO customer service reps. Finally able to get some communication through private email provided to me through WhatsApp and they are not abiding with VRBO's Covid-19 Emergency Policies which recommend owners to provide a) rebooking or b) 100% refund during these times. I am only getting messages from them that they are abiding to their original cancellation policies and no refund or re booking will be accommodated. Our flights are cancelled and France is currently in partial lock down, all public places including restaurants, museums and monuments are closed and you will be fined 135 EUR if found walking outside other than going to work, grocery store etc. What a greedy bastards!!!! read more

I would give 0 stars if possible. 5 years after our experience I am still steamed about our disgusting rental in Paris near Rue Vaugirard and Montparnasse in October 2017. Totally misleading - I would love to use another word! 1. The address was NOT the apartment; address given was a modern building across the street. When the agent arrived she pointed us to a raggedy victorian building across from the modern building, with a dumpster outside. 2. Building was dirty and unkempt. Dirty doors, walls stairwell.3 Apartment was dirty. Walls and doors needed not only painting but just cleaning! Dirt smears and fingerprints everywhere! Bathroom had mold all over the bathtub; kitchen ceiling paint was peeling and fall onto the stove. 4. We were given directions to replace fuses if the hot water/heating/electricity went out! 5. Floors were dirty 6. Mattress was thin - maybe 3 inches thick and cheap and looked liked it was wearing out. Linens looked like they hadn't been replace in ages - thin and limp. NO window treatments on the bedroom walls. 7. We discovered they had removed a negative review from a couple (on their HONEYMOON! Ruined I am sure), notating all of the things we said. We declined to stay and they refused to return our money even though we did get our deposit back. I still have the photos date stamped. read more

We rented a 3 bedroom/2 1/2 bath flat in Paris for 7nights and when we arrived the 1/2bath was broken and they said someone would be there to fix it that night. They came and said they needed a part and left...., 5 days later and texting/emailing them everyday toilet is still broken. The second full bath has no toilet so we paid a lot of money for 6adults to share one toilet. I really believe they knew it was broken, had no plans to fix it and will rent the flat again with a broken toilet. Beware! read more

STAY AWAY!!! Rented 1 week prepaid through homeaway, no hot water, boiler was broken. Rental began on a Monday, by Tuesday evening the "gas engineer" said it needed a part not available for a couple of days. I went to a hotel so I could TAKE A HOT SHOWER, was finally fixed on Friday. The would not refund because they, eventually, fixed the problem. RIP OFF!!!! read more

I was very lucky in that as I tried to book my bank blocked the payment. the vrbo/air bnb site did not mention paris london apts but then I got an email from them saying my payment did not go thru and to please try again. It seemed fishy and then I searched them on line and found all these horror stories. vrbo had already charge me their fee for the booking and I called them to complain and they refunded it. so I never went thru with the booking thank goodness. One clue I should have been warned by was al 47 reviews were perfect....all fake reviews I am sure. as you know there are always so-so reviews even on the best places which is normal! read more

I wish we had looked at Yelp before we rented from this company. We just got back from a trip to Paris and had a horrible experience with these people. I agree with the other reviewers to stay away! We have stayed in many rentals all over the world and this was by far the worst experience we've ever had. Here's a list of all the issues we had: 1. NO HOT WATER until halfway through our stay. 2. No working second toilet until halfway through our stay. 3. The flat had dirty floors, mirrors, and filthy windows. 4. Half the lightbulbs were out all over the flat. 5. The master bed rose in the middle so my husband and I were constantly fighting to stay on it. (I lasted one night before I kicked my son out of his twin and made him sleep on the couch.) 6. They provided exactly two handtowels for 3 sinks. 7. Wobbly dining room table that felt like it was about to collapse. There was no attention to detail in this flat and I honestly got the feeling that the owners were outfitting it as cheaply as possible with no regard to the comfort of the guests. From the beginning, things did not go well. Just after checking in, we had a man who spoke no English WALK INTO THE FLAT UNANNOUNCED (to fix the second toilet so they were obviously aware of the problem). He did not fix the toilet. Then we find out we have no hot water after traveling for 14 hours. We all had to take ice cold showers for 3 days until it was finally fixed. To come back to this subpar flat that was nothing like advertised at the end of the day was very disappointing especially after all the other lovely flats we have rented in the past. I emailed the company asking for some sort of compensation for the lack of basic plumbing and was denied. I was offered a discount on my next stay--I don't think so! read more

I wish there was a negative 5-star rating because this company is definitely a rip-off. I wish I'd read these other Yelp review before we booked our 5-night stay in the Paris apartment on Rue Lauriston. To begin with, the apartment was not at all like the photos. It was scarcely furnished. There was one towel per person for the week and the kitchen supplies were nonexistent. One shower was not operational so that meant four people sharing one bath. But worst of all, there was a constant banging noise coming from the ventilation system. They sent someone to repair it. It stopped temporarily and then resumed at 1 AM and persisted for the duration of our stay. We were charged 442 Euros a night so obviously, we had higher expectations! It was a dismal situation, which they did not care to resolve but instead denied the problems. I can only hope the word gets out about this company, that they really are misleading visitors to Paris and basically running a scam. read more

Stay away at all costs, a total rip off. Apartment is not as advertised, bug infested and moldy, Customer service is awful. We booked a property in Paris via Homeaway. The property is listed as "Washington - Paris 8th" and :"28 rue Washington". When my wife arrived the apartment was not even close to what is advertised and shown in photo's on the site. There was active mold in several areas, insects, broken and ripped furniture and overall a state of disrepair and uncleanliness that made the apartment ubhabitable. The greeter refused to acknowledge the issues and left before anything was resolved, There was an offer of 'cleaning' that was not even close to being able to solve the problem. Multiple emails and phone calls the company took three days to return and no help was offered - their view was essentially that it was too bad and have not offered any remediation after multiple attempts. Homeaway has been useless, refusing to help or really investigate, and now will not open up a link to all us to share photo's and a review. Avoid this company at all costs, and my advice would be to avoid Homeaway - they do not seem to care about the properties on their site. read more

We booked a 5 night stay at their 19 Mercer (or 9 depending on their site) in Covent Garden, London and were truly shocked by the lack of communication by the host (Paul's Apartments or ParisLondonApartments.com). We overbooked our stay (not accounting for losing a day in flight) and attempted the day after making our reservation to change it. They were completely inflexible notwithstanding that they had 2 months to book that day and no reservations were made before our dates. We also had an issue with our credit card. We left 4 messages on the 2 different phone numbers provided in their email and website but none were returned and texts weren't replied to until far after. Emails were replied to only every 72 hours (the max HomeAway allows) and they claim you can only contact them 2 hours (4pm-6pm) during the day. We noted our concerns regarding the lack of communication and our ability to contact them prior to our arrival but those concerns only continued during our stay. We had an issue with a non-working washer machine and, due to their lack of timely response, we left London with 5 days of dirty laundry. To their credit, they showed up to the apartment on time and the deposit was released within a reasonable time period. Please note the other half of the deposit needs to be paid in cash and they don't accept the more commonly use payment methods like PayPal. Please note that this location (as do many of their properties) require a 60 day cancellation period. Make sure you are absolutely going to make your vacation as they will likely do nothing to help you on your refund. As for the apartment, it's a solid 4 star 2 level apartment on the top floor of the building with an elevator and a rooftop deck (which is awesome and helps move the hot air out). The two bedrooms are downstairs and the kitchen, dining room/living room upstairs. The kitchen only has the basics so be careful if you're planning on making full meals. The location is perfect with 2 different tube stations (Covent Garden and Leicester Square) about 5-8 minutes away, a theater next door and others within 8-10 mins and lots of good restaurants nearby. The street cleaners and traffic can be noisy so be wary if you're a light sleeper. Pictures were accurate during our stay. The bathroom could use a new paint job, however. Overall, nice place to stay but be wary of a truly awful host. read more

I do not recommend this company: ParisLondonApartments located online at ParisLondonApartments.com. The biggest mistake I made was not checking the reviews of this company before booking. Pros: The location was good, the general appearance was as advertised, the person who checked us in was kind, they had provided fans if it got too hot. They dropped off additional mugs and a broom. Cons: Poor communication - only one reply to email per 24 hour period, which caused extreme delays. Two of the three bedrooms had layers of dust and broken closet doors, and had obviously not been cleaned or vaccuumed. Although the bed linens were fresh, there was a ton of dust and even old jelly beans under the bed. The instruction book was very rigidly stated that any items missing would be at the cost of the renter, but none of the kitchen items were actually in the labelled locations. There was no broom or dustpan to clean the kitchen floors during the stay. There was no instruction for the stove. There was no instruction about turning down the radiators. I contacted the check-in person and the contact number via WhatsApp, and was told to email. So I notified the company per email including images of the dirt and dissaray. They replied the next day and said they'd get a cleaner in the next day, but did not. I could no longer sleep in a space that unclean, so cleaned it myself and informed the company. They said all I had to do was "wait a few hours". Mind you, this was a full 5 days after we checked in. AND, due to the timing of our check-in, I had been required to pay for a full night's stay the day before we arrived - so there was PLENTY of time for the company to have cleaned the apartment sufficiently before the check-in. Like another reviewer on Yelp, we were also told to check in at an address down the street from the actual location. Creepy, and also annoying as we had been dropped off already and had to lug our bags down the street to the actual address. I would never use this company again. I believe in leaving things better than I found them, so I put all of the kitchen ware in the correctly labelled location, and left the bedrooms cleaner than they were on our arrival. read more

I booked with them for a 5 night stay in Paris. We booked unit in the 1st arrondissement largely due to location and desire for a washer/dryer near the end of our 2 weeks in Europe. When we arrived at unit, it was clearly not as nice as pictures but we would have likely stayed there due to the prepayment of the unit. Unit beautiful in photos, but dumpy in person (nice couch replaced with saggy futon, broken fans, cracked paint etc). However, during the check in process we discovered only toilet in unit didn't work - it was clearly taken a part. Management apparently tried to repair it on Saturday but repairman said it couldn't be repaired and needed to look for parts on Monday. Clearly we could not stay in unit. Management did not make any alternative arrangements for us, offer any financial compensation and did not reply to any of our texts or emails until we filed a formal complaint with vrbo. We were basically in Paris at 98% occupancy with nowhere to stay and left on our own to figure it out. We ended up booking a boutique hotel at last minute rates when was double what we originally expected to pay. Local contact that let us in to apartment stopped answering our texts. We had to send ParisLondonApartments messages daily to ask for a refund and they finally gave us one after a week of very limited responses saying they were seeking management approval. We understand that sometimes unforeseen circumstances arise, but how management responds to them is important and their response was extremely poor. We would never book with them again. We rented an apartment in Paris from ParisLondonApartments through HomeAway. The apartment as advertised looked clean and fresh, although basic. Upon arrival, we found it to be uninhabitable. Dust and grit from exposed stone walls covered the floors, furniture, and bathroom floor and showers; the bathroom shower stall tiles and pipes were covered with mold; plaster was peeling in the shower stall and on the stone walls; the walls were scuffed the air in the basement level was unbreathable. Calls to the owner, texts, and emails went unanswered and we were forced to leave an hour after arrival. Cleaning would not have helped: the apartment needed mold abatement, the stone walls needed treatment, the plaster needed repairing, and ventilation needed to be installed in the basement level. read more
