I am truly very disappointed in the renovation of the new Park Central Mall, especially the tacky overhead white strips, what the h@ll! it looks so unfinished, & tragic to me. And, the lack of shade, esp, upfront where First Watch is, there used to at least be an overhead roof for shade when The Good Egg used to be there, but they took that away. I love the vibe at this place. I has this busy downtown vibe, but with tons of open parking. Went here for a week long training at Interface, and I was very pleased with all the options for lunch within walking distance. Thai Basil, Fired Pie, The Good Egg, Starbucks, Jamba Juice, a Deli place that I don't remember the name, etc. It was nice to walk around during our breaks. The only thing I absolutely hated is how many people smoke so close to the buildings and in the walkways... : ( not nice. Oh well. I am not in this neighborhood often, but when I am around I will definitely stop here for lunch, as I said, tons of parking. read more

If Park Central Mall could speak, it would scream, "Stop looking at me! Stop it! I know, I know. I've let myself go. How can I compete with Kierland or Biltmore? I'm just ugly. I'm Jan and Kierland is Marcia. It's always Kierland, Kierland, Kierland." Staryucks, (yes, I said Staryucks, catchy, huh?) is the flagship store here. Gag me. Central Ave. deli, a great gift shop and Kobalt (is it still open?), Jamba Juice...yawn yawn yawn... My only hope for this once famous mall, is the light rail. Yes, I'm bankin on the light rail people. And no, Kristin, I haven't been drinking. I have this vision in my head, and the need to open up that space. Throw in the obligatory Banana Republic, Restoration Hardware and Orange Julius. OK, the Orange Julius is for me. Used to love those babies. I just may "borrow" one of these demolition tractors I see all over Central and ram a big hole into it. Then we plant some trees and flowers. Hire whimsical musicians, actors and unicorns for the grand opening. I give a speech in my chains and shackles (for the grand theft and destruction of property) and we all rejoice! Usually I find reviews on Yelp to be pretty good, but every once in a while I find some reviews that make me scratch my head. Why do people rate Park Central as if it is still a mall? On my recent lunch trip to Park Central I didn't see any signage indicting a mall, in fact the landmark sign on Central from the 1950s has been gone for 15 years. I checked out their website before writing this review, and found no mention of it being a mall there either. The management company advertises it as a corporate park, and in fact when I was there I actually found it to be filled with many corporate offices. Park Central doesn't appear to be trying to compete with Kierland or the Biltmore as another reviewer put it, in fact they don't even appear to be competing with poor old Christown Mall. Why? Because Park Central isn't a mall! Writing a review complaining about a lack of stores at Park Central is like writing a bad review about Maryvale mall because it doesn't have any stores and the food tastes like it came from a school cafeteria. Maryvale Mall is now an elementary / middle school, not a mall, and neither is Park Central. I gave Park Central 4 out of 5 stars because in the 15 years that it has not been a mall, it seems to has done a good at keeping itself filled with corporate tenants who are conveniently surrounded by many restaurants that don't even require you to get into your car to eat at. read more

If you've ever watched something fade then get to experience it blossom back to Life you may understand how I feel about Park Central Mall. It was an actual midtown mall on Central Ave when I first moved to Phoenix in the early 1970's. But as this beautiful City spread out Park Central became an afterthought. So many once vibrant malls now stand silent (and perfect for something new in my opinion) I have watched Park Central Mall come back to life and here's what I can tell you: for dining? Thai Basil, First Watch, Jimmy John's and Fired Pie. Bars? Kobalt and the nice sports bar Zipps. There is a Jamba Juice and a Starbucks. There are businesses within, School of Medical Imaging, a Boutique Dress Shop. Art Link has an office there. There is The Four Elements Art Gallery currently featuring the sculptures of my friend Pete Deise and run by Alexandra. There is a stage set up there in the northern mall- I'm rather interested in that. But what's really important is the amount of office and retail space available! Time to rethink malls! read more

Park Central Mall is a disgrace to our downtown, it's the epitome of our problem here--TOO MUCH SPACE BETWEEN PLACES! I think the grounds are beautiful it's just the marketing mix needs to change! Why can't they just put a Macy's in there, with cute store clerks--I bet I could run that shit and turn it around. Oh and a Target is needed downtown again so badly since the one on 7th Ave and Camelback moved! That Kobalt bar is nice but just another disapointment for a gay bar! Even some of the office space at PARK CENTRAL lays vacant, and that healthcare group occupying that old Dillards has just got to go. Park Central used to have an office depot there and that didn't work--don't they know offices order bulk and don't buy from places like that? Nothing works, what can we do?? Arggghhh read more

This place is the worst. Construction goes on all night (they could give a fuck about the neighbors who live here) and it takes them forever to do the easiest work. Any place else outside of phoenix and the so-called construction would be finished. Ah, no love for Park Central mall on a lot of these reviews?! The real problem is calling it a "Mall." It used to be a real mall about 30 years ago! 13 years ago Park Central was virtually empty, almost no restaurants, no flagship stores (all I really remember was a Radio Shack, Green Woodpecker, and Miracle Mile). It was DYING. Some developer came along and revamped it. Now guess what, I have Multiple eating options ! woo! No, you can't go to the Gap or Macy's or whatever it is that mallrats like, but you can get a jamba juice, some good egg, italian eats at fusillis, or *gulp* a cup of Joe-bucks. read more

I have been to the Starbucks at this location several times and it is usually busy but has an easy, laid-back vibe. I went to the deli a couple of days before it closed in November 2017 and regretted not going there more often as the sandwich was really good. The Jamba Juice was quick - I ordered online for a Saturday pick-up which was great since there were a lot of customers there on a hot summer morning. One of the main reasons that I won't give it 4 or 5 stars is because of the construction and the horrible condition of the parking lots. I live nearby and run through the parking lot to avoid the traffic/smog on Central and the parking lots are full of cracks and holes and I end up having to look down to avoid tripping and injuring myself. Other than, the renovations to Park Central are great and I hope they get more tenants in the next year - would be nice to have a convenience store and other restaurant options. read more

where were you all when Park Central was desperate for customers? They died as a mall in the late 80's early 90's. The anchor stores were Diamonds/Dillards, Goldwaters/Robinson's and JC Penny's. In the 70's there was even an El Rancho Market in there. Great jewelry and book stores, shoe stores, restaurants etc. But people didn't want to shop there - no - Metro Center was the place to go and now fickle shoppers are killing Metro they way they killed Park Central and Christown (the first air conditioned mall in the country). read more

i was at park central mall, phoenix, yesterday september 22 - for the first time in years. how just plain awful it is now ..... since my last many visits. it used to be so vibrant, everywhere. i beautiful florist. a wonderful barber. a fabulous shoe repair shop and on and on ...... half of "the back area" seems now empty. i saw one person walking there - and there used to be thousands. what on earth has happened to that central phoenix place ?????? oh my goodness me ....... the busiest place there it seems now - is the starbucks which was jumping. i wanted to have a decent breakfast at 8.00 am before going to see my banker at wells fargo on central - but the first watch restaurant not open until 10.00 am. i was disgusted - disappointed - disgusted - and ashamed - as i used to love going there - jc penney and alike and alike ........... never again for me there - ian b. tippet - uk / usa / and soon back to uk (retiring ........) 85 years of age, 64 years with my job in usa. read more

Park Central Mall? hmmm, I worked there doing security for the mall by contract for 4 months before being hired by an law enforcement agency and I'll just highlight some good points in my opinion and some things I just hated about it. I've read some of the reviews and I gotta admit there are some review who just have nailed it right in the head. some of the nicer points about the place: Starbucks of course!! I wasn't a big fan of Starbucks then I went and tried stuff of theirs and now appreciate them being there. The Green Woodpecker is a really decent place to shop, they got a bit of everything and the prices are pretty decent. Qdoba Mexican Grill on the other hand now I got to admit they were great considering the prices but I always go back to Park Central Mall just because Miracle Mile Deli is there, and my god I love that place! Now on to some points of needing improvement: Fuzilli's Pizza, my god their damn pizza was just gross and greasy and had diarrhea for days to come (That has to go), I've heard rumors from the Park Central Staff that CinnaBear was making cinnamon rolls shaped like a human penis (of course this just a rumor) but It was enough to make me sick. to answer the question of Kobalt about it still being open? the answer to that is yes! it still is (amazingly) but I give kudos to Club Central for putting up with Park Central Management for several issues which I'm glad to say is still there (Nice Club by the way). to the person who wrote the review about the healthcare place needing to go, Catholic Healthcare Services (CHS) isn't going any place anytime soon, due to the contract that they and Park Central Management made a while back not to mention the fact that CHS is the founding agency for St. Josephs Hospital and Medical Center anyways, Park Central has definitely had it's share of problems safety and security wise which just really disgusted me. anyways I'm sure i can write more when I have a mind that is totally waken up, but I think I'll leave it here! read more
