The most notable feature here is a large artificial mound that was made so those who want to get good views, photos, and videos of aircraft will get an unobstructed view. There are also benches and picnic tables. Interestingly enough, there is also a porta potty, which looks really weird sitting in the middle of an industrial warehouse zone. Like a Francophone user indicated, it's probably a good idea to visit a nearby Tim Hortons for a donut and a cup of coffee before or after coming here and "doing your business" there. (Thus, it's sort of implicit that you may not want to use that bathroom at the park.) The park has informational signage and boards describing various aircraft that have come to YUL over the decades. There will indeed be aircraft spotting aficionados here and they will clearly remember seeing the last Boeing 747s or Airbus 380s at YUL, and which they miss. Can you blame them? Jacques de Lesseps Park YUL is sort of hidden, yet not hidden. It's but a few blocks west of and parallel to Cote de Liesse, in a warehouse zone with big streets. Parking should not be a problem on Jenkins Avenue alongside the park. If you really want to be civic minded, you can take STM bus 202 to some desolate stop along Cote de Liesse and walk here, but I don't think many people do that! The reason for the 5 stars is the airport's proactiveness in sponsoring and maintaining this site. Not only that, it brings a lot of enjoyment to those who have this as a hobby or just to everyday people who want to visit a park with a very different but very interesting raison d'etre.

One thing I thought was really cool is that they even offered free paddleboarding when I visited! I don't make it out to this park often, but I was pleasantly surprised by how peaceful and well-kept it is. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the area and want to spend some time outdoors.

We went early in the morning, but can assure you that this place gets busy very fast. The principal attraction is the zipline, which makes this park truly unique. Make your way to the treehouse, going on the suspended bridges, spider webs and ladders. Lots of other features to ensure that kids of all ages will not get bored, and plenty of places to sit or even have a bite to eat. Very well designed and plenty of space. Just be mindful to stay off areas where there are warning signs about poison ivy.

It is an urban park…read morein Montreal, located in the borough of Lachine on a jetty between the Saint Lawrence River and the end of the Lachine Canal. The park is approximately 1,500,000 sq ft in area and it is named after René Lévesque, the prime minister of Quebec from 1976 to 1985. The park is ample and it has a bicycle path, an arboretum and we were able to see several species of birds. Walking along the water is soothing and very nice. If you are driving, the road access to the park is mainly through the Chemin du Canal, an extension of Saint Patrick Street.

Most recently, we were enjoying a lovely and peaceful Sunday morning stroll and picnic breakfast when the stillness was shattered by a woman (purportedly teaching some sort of class) braying like a jackass and screaming at the top of her lungs, disturbing other users and the many wonderful ducks which, ultimately, took flight at all the commotion. I've actually helped to throw a gorgeous wedding here in the heritage buildings a number of years ago, it was challenging but so memorable and I'd highly recommend it if you're willing to do the work and deal with the constraints of the space (when they reopen). But winter here is my favourite. We love to come here cross-country skiing as a family, being on these huge trails and wild edges of the island. It's always breezy here in the summer, even hot days are soothing, the waves are wild and you just feel a release from the heaviness of the city. All the more appreciated during these crazy times.

If you are looking for a small green adventure on the island, sure why not, but I wouldn't hugely highly recommend it. We parked and followed the arrows that suggested we'd see water. We ended up crossing under a highway on our nature walk, getting led in a loop that pointed back to the parking, walked past 2 Germans laughing at us for getting duped by the same path as they had followed... but we had keen eyes and spotted another entrance into the forest, so we crossed a busy suburban street that feeds the highway and did find the water we'd been promised by the many signs, and though the sun was just setting on the islands and the river and it was pretty, the highway was still in sight, the roar never quiet.

There's a lot to see and do here; the promenade is quite long, and is filled with great views of the water and surrounding architecture. One of the main focal points here is La Grande Roue de Montréal - a large Ferris wheel that sits right on the water's edge. Additionally, there are carnival rides, food trucks, ziplining, and a beach that's open seasonally. Since I was there in autumn, most of the attractions and beach areas were closed for the season. It was still a great experience though because there were clear views of the water and foliage in the background. I also found myself sitting, people watching, and soaking in the aesthetics. No matter what time of the year, though, it's definitely worth stopping here during your time in Montreal.

Not a lot of picnic tables or park benches but everyone who shows up here seems to be well stacked with their own stuff, inflatable kayaks, stand-up paddles, outdoor bbq, volleyball nets, etc. Nun's Island has an extensive network of bike paths but there's also a great hiking trail along the waters edge, in the back yards of the exclusive residences of this wealthy bedroom community, which also intersect at this park. Given how crazy "mainland" Verdun has become in the past 3 years especially that dank beach, I'm happy to find a much quieter, cleaner and natural place where I can watch the birds, read books underneath the cool shade of willow trees and possibly venture and wade in the water and not have to see a single obnoxious hipster or man-bun in sight.
