Now that I've had a chance to settle in for two months, it's time to leave a review for this beautiful, exceptionally well managed community and its wonderful staff. For reference, I also own a condo here in Mountain View and I've lived at other Prometheus properties in Silicon Valley (from most recent to oldest: 100 Moffett, Cupertino City Center, and the Biltmore), as well as non-Prometheus properties (The Turing, City Gate, Arioso, and The Hamptons). I've been fortunate to have a lot of generally good experience over the years, but Park Place stands out above all the rest for so many reasons. I want to start with the staff (in the order that I met them): Athena, Michelle, Rudy, Bryan, Cynthia, Andrea, and Yen. Amazing staff, super friendly, helpful, and professional. From the first experience through moving in, I feel like I've made friends. These are people I genuinely like, who have treated me, my wife, and my dog so cheerfully and courteously. Your experience at any property starts with the staff, and these wonderful people foster a genuine feeling of welcome and inclusion in the community that we really love and appreciate. I'd give more than five stars just because of the staff, if I could. While talking about staff, I also have to mention the maintenance team. They are super friendly and super responsive when you need something. 5 star for maintenance. For the property, I have to say this was the whole appeal for moving here initially. The location is amazing. It's downtown Mountain View next to all the venues Castro Street has to offer, but it's situated in an absolutely lovely spot across the street from pretty Pioneer Memory park with the library, city hall, and performing arts center on its north side, and adjacent to Eagle park on its west side, with a Starbucks on its east side. This is such a terrifically walkable area and it's gorgeous. Pictures don't do it justice; you need to visit and walk around for yourself. This, along with the aesthetics and attractiveness of the grounds here on the property, is 100% the reason why we chose to rent out our condo and move here. Same as with the staff, I'd give more than five stars if I could. Within the property, the amenities are truly outstanding. We have two great gyms (one with a yoga / exercise studio), a lovely clubhouse, a nice salt water pool, and the best pet spa of any property I've ever lived at -- perfect for washing our 80 pound lab! 5 stars! And speaking of our lab, I have lived at other pet-friendly communities before, but this one is the best hands down. After two months of living here, I'm impressed at how well-behaved the other dogs are and how responsible the other pet owners are. As far as the apartment itself, we love the calming color scheme and the layout. The home is very pleasant and comfortable. If the unit is ever offered for sale, we're definitely going to buy it, that's how happy we are with it. 5 stars! I don't understand the negative reviews I'm seeing on this Yelp page! I used to live in this apartment complex, and can't wait to come back! I'm ready for the pandemic to be over so I can live at Park Place again. :) It's in a great location, friendly staff, and I have fond memories there! It's also an easy walk to shops and restaurants, it feels safe, they are pet friendly (I have a cat), and I always saw friendly faces! I'm sure the pandemic just has everyone on edge. After years of living on the east coast, my partner and I moved to the Bay area a year ago and decided to stay at Park Place due to its proximity to the Cal Train station. Twelve months later, I feel fortunate that we found Park Place as our new home which not only made this transition as smooth as it could have been but also helped us adapt to Mountain View. Our time here has been wonderful and I personally couldn't have expected a better community to be a part of. Pros Location Park place is located at a walking distance of 5 minutes from all of the following : brilliant places to eat and drink in Downtown Mountain View, two of the best parks in Mountain View [Eagle Park and Pioneer Park], Mountain View Cal Train Station, a bunch of local attractions such as Mountain View Center for Performing Arts and Mountain View Library. The location of this community primarily negates the high cost of living [especially if you're a transplant] and I can't emphasize on how much this has helped us maintain a healthy and happy lifestyle over the year. Management I've personally had the chance to interact directly with folks here as a part of leasing, queries, pricing , package and maintenance issues and it's been absolutely smooth sailing so far. I can't speak more highly about the level of professionalism these folks bring in everyday and every single question/ query on my side has been addressed with respect and urgency. A huge shout out to Trinidad, Arman, Karem and Michelle whom I've worked with directly. Facilities and Cleanliness The community is dog-friendly, kid-friendly, has a wonderful swimming pool that is maintained by the team through the year, club-house, gyms and lots of walking space. Maintenance queries are attended to within the day and security issues are taken very seriously. Besides all of the above, the team also works exceptionally hard at organizing events for the larger community to get together. One of the usual concerns that I've often heard is the cost of living here but in my opinion, that cost is totally worth it for all the above factors that have been stated in the review. read more

I have lived at Park Place in Mountain View for 7 years. Today I got a renewal offer which is $700 (!) above the market price for the same apartment plan (without counting in the "2 month free" promotion for new tenants). Our apartment hasn't been remodel for at least 10 years and doesn't have AC (currently approaching 90F inside). This is how Prometheus treats their tenants. No wonder Park Place is approaching 100 available apartments. read more

Multiple issues with broken doors that won't close, and non residents come and go as please, taking packages and stealing bikes. The management has been "trying to " fix the doors for years twos, some how, they never manage to find a resolution. Garbage is not picked up daily so if you leave close by the garbage shoot, you are out of luck, the bags piles up and we had rats coming to our ground floor unit. The price is suppose to include perks, but because of Covid, we can't use the perks so it's a bad situation since covid started. We can't wait to move out of this place, high prices, no perks, and too many issues with contractions noises, desapperaing packages and bikes, and on top of that, the owner of the condo is a shady figure, that pay top money against fair housing, overall this place is just a bad deal, we can't wait to move out. read more

We moved from overseas to the Bay Area about a year ago for work, where Park Place became the first place we called home and we settled in at once. With so many things new for us, the staff at Park Place really went the extra mile with great service, quick responses and friendliness! A big shoutout to Kerem and Michelle for always making us feel so welcome and helping out with any matter, large or small :) They are an awesome team at Park Place who makes things work smoothly for their tenants, especially compared to other experiences we've had elsewhere! The two of us lived there for almost a year in a 1Bed1Bath. Very happy with all the amenities (the pool and spa, the gym and bbq, the lush green everywhere) which are in excellent shape and it all makes up for the somewhat high rent in our opinion. Personally, I just loved the surroundings with green parks (especially the water fountain in the middle) and the walking distance to downtown with restaurants (the area in Downtown MV is cute and the walkability around unique houses and gardens nearby is also worth a visit in itself). Coming from a northern European city, these were all things that made us want to move to Park Place - and we actually miss it since we've moved on to another apartment. There are many pros of living here and while the con of a high rent might be tricky in Covid times, we highly recommend Park Place! One day we hope to move back! read more

The good things about the Parkplace Apartment is the lease renew time, the rent increase based on city of Mountain View rent control guidelines and offering you monthly rent options. the move out procedure is simple and some charges like painting based on how long you stay with depreciation and fair.The management team are good and helpful. I'm disappointed to have to write this review, but my partner & I moved in right before the COVID-19 pandemic at a pretty high rental rate for their 1 bedroom unit. Within weeks, the price dropped hundreds, and now the price has dropped by over 30% ($1000+ less / month). Management is extremely nice and pleasant, but they're not willing to work with us on adjustment to match the market price or account for the closed amenities that we're still paying for (one of the main reasons we chose this complex). There are over 100 empty units available and luxury buildings that are newer construction nearby are going for far less than our current rate, so we'd hoped for compromise when we spoke to management. We'd even offered to extend our lease and resign at the current market rate. It's at the point where it may be more cost-effective to just break our lease and leave. While we had originally planned to stay here long term, this is making our impending move an easy choice. read more

Been living here for about 1.25 years now - great location! Wanted to highlight the great service in particular from Jennifer Shin and John, the lead maintenance tech. Had an issue recently in which routine maintenance was being done on the plumbing pipes in the covered garage and the pipe over my car was leaking rusty fluid. Called it in on a Friday evening after-hours, got a call Saturday morning, and issue was fixed by Sunday. Jennifer was also super helpful when I first moved here, making sure the move-in process went smoothly! Overall would recommend this location for several reasons: -perfect location - walking distance to Castro street, 15-20min drive to Stanford and Kaiser Santa Clara, close to a lot of main highways but still in a quiet neighborhood with parks -responsive maintenance staff -plenty of covered garage parking -I feel safe in our apartment -pet friendly -my opinion about overall cost of rent: par for the area, fluctuates based on market values/time of the year, worth it for the peace of mind and quality of amenities/services read more

Park Place Apartments - Dead mouse on balcony... ongoing issue. - Apartments Near Me - Mountain View, California

These apartments are conveniently located, comfortable, and set on beautiful grounds with excellent service from the leasing office and maintenance team. The only issues were noise from from footsteps in the upstairs apartment and nearly constant work in the area, but these were certainly tolerable, especially for a short-term stay. My mother-in-law came out to stay in the Bay Area for two months earlier this year. Rather than have her stay in a hotel, we found a short term lease at Park Place for close to the same rate as a 12-month lease! We had read many of the negative comments about the property, and, happily, we ran into very few of the problems mentioned by some other residents. The apartment itself was on the second floor facing Franklin Street/Eagle Park. It was spacious and looked newly remodeled. The in-room washer and dryer were super convenient. You can't beat the location for Mountain View: parks on either side, the library a block away, a 2 minute walk to Starbucks, and so close to the rest of downtown. The place is very dog- and child-friendly, so if you're not into kids or dogs, this isn't the place for you. The complex grounds are lovely and very well-maintained. My mother-in-law enjoyed the gym, and she loved the beautiful pool area though she didn't have a chance to use the pool itself. I found the office staff to be incredibly responsive, always answering emails and phone inquiries within hours (usually minutes). There were a couple of snags with giving the furniture rental company permission to enter the apartment for delivery and pick-up (perhaps this process could be improved, as the permissions we issued by email and phone were often lost between one shift and the next). However, besides that, Amy and Hide were especially helpful throughout my initial inquiries, during the leasing process, and during my mother-in-law's stay. Case in point: when she used her oven for the first time, my mother-in-law got an error message on the control panel. She called the office, and someone came within an hour to try to repair it. When it couldn't be fixed, they brought up a new range! She especially appreciated that the maintenance guy called her to tell her when he planned to be in the apartment. The office always asked for permission for maintenance to be allowed in if someone wasn't at home. On moving out, the inspection was easy to schedule and very efficient. My mother-in-law got her entire security deposit back promptly despite some marks on the wall from the furniture delivery people. The only significant issue we all noticed when visiting her apartment was the noise when the residents upstairs walked around or moved furniture. It was incredibly loud, and the dishes in the kitchen cabinets rattled with the footsteps. I spent a lot of time in her apartment and never heard any conversation or music from the upstairs neighbors, just the footsteps and furniture. Also, it seemed that there was always some kind of work going on in the complex: remodeling, landscaping, etc., and this may have been more annoying for my mother-in-law had she been living there for a longer time. Although there was construction going on on the first floor below her apartment, the noise from below wasn't really a problem. In general, though, we were so pleased that we chose Park Place for my mother-in-law's stay. She loved living there, we loved hanging out in her apartment, and we all wished she could have stayed there longer. read more

This is solely related to the search process and the insanely terrible experience I had. I drove up from southern California to apartment hunt and had called ahead to Park Place. I had a lengthy conversation with Stephanie about what I was looking for and booked a 1pm appointment on a Saturday. I was planning to be in another neighborhood at that time and drove back to Mountain View solely for this appointment. When I showed up, the leasing office was locked, no one would answer the phone, and it got picked up by a central leasing office center located out of the country. They too could not get a hold of anyone actually on site. I stayed for 45 minutes in the 95 degree heat in hopes someone would show up with a good explanation but no one came and I never heard from Stephanie or anyone else again. If they could treat someone this poorly with such a blatant disregard for their time at this stage of the leasing process, I can't imagine what it would be like to actually live there. read more

I really do avoid writing poor reviews, but the issues with this building have gone on for far too long! Please beware of many issues before considering living here. 1. My husband and I have lived in 2 different units across Park Place. The building management and staff were very kind and inviting when we first toured, however, the follow up and helpfulness of the staff declined sharply after we started living here and we were "locked in" to our contract. 2. Our dishwasher has been malfunctioning since we moved in and we have submitted various service requests to get it looked at. Moreover, after we run the dishwasher, our dishes constantly have a foul sulfurous smell that makes us think that something is backed up in the piping. However, whenever maintenance has come, they have just taken a look at the dishwasher for 15 mins, and deemed it all ok. Come 6 months later, we returned home to an overflowing nasty sink filled with disgusting water, and our kitchen floor flooded. This happened after hours, during which the emergency technician paid us a visit 1.5 hours after calling. He promised a plumber would get in touch with us in the morning to take care of our flooded kitchen. In the morning, we called multiple times to get an ETA on the plumber. After 2 phone calls without any call back, we were informed that the plumbers wouldn't arrive until 3 PM. My husband and I work from home and we had rescheduled all our meetings to the afternoon so this issue would be taken care of. Moreover, our kitchen is filthy, there is a foul smell permeating our apartment, and no one in management seems to care. We can't even use the kitchen to cook due to how unsanitary everything is from the sink water and overflow. 3. We live on the ground floor in our second unit, and we can constantly hear our neighbors walking around at home. I do not think this is their fault, however, I think the building is old and the walls and floors are VERY thin, so you hear every movement. This has been awful during the pandemic when we are working from home and can hear every noise, and our neighbors walking can disturb us even into the night during "quiet hours" 4. The fire alarms have gone off at least 15 times in the last 6 months, at all hours of the day. 5 of these times were in the middle of the night. From what we could tell, there was a true fire emergency only ONE of these times. Otherwise, the management blamed faulty switches, technicians working and creating dust setting off the alarms, and other nonsensical reasons. read more

We moved to park place a few months ago. Kerem from Prometheus was incredibly helpful - with his advice we picked the best apartment for us and have been super happy since we moved. Being able to walk out our front door and be on such a lively neighborhood as Castro street is amazing - we've had such a great time since we moved. On the other side of the complex is Eagle Park - a gorgeous green area that we've been to several times to work out and relax. The apartment finishings look brand new and the appliances are high end. The layout of the buildings gives a homely sense of community. Overall we've been extremely happy with our experience. read more

Lovely location and staff are usually helpful but as tenants that have been here for 2.5yrs it seems in poor taste that Park Place required us to sign a 12 mth lease at pre-COVID rent amount, or increase rent even more to stay on monthly. They refused to lower rent to match the market/actual prices they were renting other apartments here. Note we still paid high rent, even when we couldn't access closed facilities due to COVID, and many of those facilities still closed or partially reopened. It's such a shame that Prometheus only care about maxing the money they get from long term tenants. Must also mention for sake of others: the floor boards above us are so creaky that with nocturnal neighbours we've not slept well for a LONG time. There was an effort to try fix the floorboards but the fix only lasted a few months. read more

We lived at the Park Place for a year. It was an absolute nightmare. Our AC heating unit was broken since day one and after a year of pleading and misery, it was not fixed. They would bring in a supposedly technician to fix the AC and he couldn't fix it and would tell us it needs a piece that will take months to arrive.... long story short we lived the whole winter with a small portable heater borrowed from the leasing office. The property manager once told us we don't change the unit because it's an expensive solution. And don't believe the good reviews because they basically pay residents in form of gift baskets (they did it to us) to remove reviews containing complaints (it was on Google). And last but not the least, the apartments are not worth the price tag. Our current place (5 min drive from Park Place) is nicer (landscape and interior), is newer, has central AC, is bigger, has elevator, has garbage chute, is gated, has better management/maintenance and still is cheaper! read more

This is a very nice community with very good amenities and newly renovated rooms. However, I've noticed that sound can transmit pretty easily from the upper floors. We've been at Park Place for two years now and we signed a new lease in May of this year. We found out that new units which are the same as ours are being offered at $700 less than what we pay. This does not include the 2 month rent free offer being offered to new residents. Any resolution with the management has fallen flat. We currently pay more than 4200 for a 2B2B in these times and are locked in till May of next year :( I think a good way to judge leasing companies is to see how co-operative they are when you want to leave. Park Place rather have you leave than try and mediate even though they have about 100 vacant units. Needless to say that most facilities they advertise on their website are no longer functioning. Overall I'd skip Prometheus as clearly being part of their family doesn't mean much. read more

I have been living in this property since 2018. Armaan and her team are very responsive and try to help as much as they can. Prometheus processes can be old and stodgy, but the management team in the building is always helpful and doing their best to help neighbors. The service people are always responsive and solve most problem- if they can't solve something, they always try to find the next best alternative. Earlier, we had issues with the flooring in another unit, there were a few issues with the way the team handled it, but when Armaan got involved, she really helped us worked through. No management teams are perfect, but I appreciate the way the team is always open to suggestions and act where Prometheus allows. The neighbors are also very friendly. My 6 year old was able to play with kids from the neighborhood during covid and keep sane (outside with masks). The overall premises are kept tidy and the pool is awesome to use! read more

Park Place is a great (although expensive) place to rent. The pool is fantastic, I never had an issue getting repairs done (always within the day) + the community is very respectful. Also, there are fun extras like a club house that you can book for events at no additional cost. This combined with being on castro street made this a good choice for me and my roommate. There are a few too many picky rules (no house plants on porches), but on the upside when you need assistance there is always someone there to help. A special shout out Trinidad who has fielded many questions and always been very helpful. If you want somewhere secure, with well kept premises + fantastic amenities, this is the place. read more

This review is long overdue. We lived in Park Place for 3-4 years and absolutely loved it! This apartment complex is very close to Mountain View downtown, yet far enough from all the noise. It's also surrounded by beautiful parks and has a great library nearby (with trees and cute squirrels everywhere!) If you have a dog, your dog will thank you for choosing this place :-) We lived in a corner top-floor unit which was very private and never had any noise issues from neighbors. We moved here a week ago, and so far it has been a very positive experience. We really like our apartment and love the friendly and helpful staff. (Shout-out to Jennifer!) (This paragraph has been updated.) Our one bedroom is advertised on the website as 700 sqft, but to clarify, it includes the patio, which is about 90 sqft. However, the layout is well designed and space efficiency is so good that all our stuff from our previous 750sqft apartment fits in nicely. Pros: - Environment: Park Place lives up to its name, it is surely like living in a park, very green, tucked away from the traffic or city noise, very clean and well kept. Most of the time it's so quiet that birds chirping is the loudest thing. (Except for the times listed in potential cons.) - Location: perfect as mentioned in many other reviews. - Rooms: Our apartment is only carpeted in the bedroom, and the carpet was well-cleaned before we moved in. (There seem to be fully carpeted apartments in another building in the same community, and much cheaper too. We just don't like carpeting as much.) - The interior is very thoughtful and the floor plan uses space efficiently as mentioned above. Multiple outlets on every wall. - Our apartment was renovated in 2017, appliances are quite new and clean. (There is some problem with the air conditioner, but the maintenance team quickly responded and has arranged for a vendor to come to fix it next week. She is always very responsive to our questions and goes above and beyond to help us with our requests. Potential Cons: - From time to time, planes and helicopters fly by and you can hear them if the window is open. But our previous apartment had a train station nearby. We got used to the train in no time, so probably will tune out the planes soon enough. - It is also very lively like a park: if everybody leaves their windows open, occasionally you can hear kids laughing, and different sounds of people living their lives. There seemed to be a house party going on across the courtyard the other night, it definitely sounded like a lot of fun. But it seems the community, in general, is very considerate in terms of keeping it quiet when it's late at night. - We do hear the sound of neighbors' bathroom fan when it's on, patio sliding doors, sometimes washers or dryers, occasionally footsteps, but not too bad. Just to be fair, neighbors' footsteps and washers could be heard in our previous apartment, a nice new apartment building built in 2019, so I guess that's just how things are. A few flies got in earlier today and I was frantically opening and closing the patio sliding door to let them out...I felt very bad for our downstairs neighbors... It's not the cheapest community for rent in the area. But I do see why it's more expensive. Will update more if anything changes.:) read more

We have been living at Park Place for 6 years, and we have loved it. The location is awesome - surrounded by two beautiful parks, the Mountain View Public Library and Castro Street. It's a wonderful lifestyle being walking distance from downtown and the Caltrain - there's always something fun going on, and we feel very connected to the community around us. The Park Place grounds are so lovely and well-maintained, the established trees and water fountain make our apartment feel tranquil and private. We spend a lot of time at the pool and hot tub, and have hosted so many fun gatherings with friends and family there. There are two grills and great outdoor furniture, so it's really convenient for hosting group events. Our apartment is very comfortable and fitted with all of the necessary amenities. It's great to have a washer, dryer and dishwasher in the unit. You can make any maintenance requests via the online portal, and the maintenance team are extremely responsive and efficient. The leasing office team are wonderful - always friendly, professional and accommodating. We have been very happy at Park Place! read more

I've been a resident at Park Place for many years now (double digit...), and just renewed one more time! (Thanks Arman and Breanne! You're the best) Maybe I should start my review with "Once upon a time in Park Place...", but then I'm afraid that would put somne of you to sleep... Times are difficult these days, and I can understand some of the comments made in the reviews. However, one thing that comes in my mind right away is the responsible way Park Place's management and staff has been handling the situation: I really appreciate the level of communication and their common sense approach for dealing with the situation. As a matter of fact, all the years I've lived here, the level of professionalism and courtesy of the staff has always been very good. I've always felt respected, and that's an important aspect that I believe people should factor in. Like everybody else, I have had my worries about cost, but every time, when weighing the different aspects, I've always come to the same conclusion so far: very hard to find a similar place that combines the best possible location, amenities, great service/maintenance, competent staff, (mostly) decent neighbors, place well maintained. I know that sounds generic, but that's how it really is. For me, that's what gives me peace of mind. This is not saying it's all perfect, you can imagine I've seen a few ups and downs here and there throughout the years, but at the end of the day, this is simple: Pros outweigh Cons so far. This works for me. I hope it stays that way. I'll finish my short review with that comment: if you can afford it, and if you don't come here with an inflated sense of entitlement (which is one of my pet peeves...), I believe you'll agree with me that this is a great place. We are currently living here and after almost 5 years very happy with our stay at Park Place. There are a few things about this apartment complex that are nearly impossible to match. 1) location to Castro Street / Downtown Mountain View, 40+ restaurants, bars, coffee shops and plenty of retail like CVS, organic grocery (Ava's on Castro and Rose's on El Camino) 2) high quality buildings with very responsive staff 3) two gyms, saltwater lap pool & hot tub; one of the biggest differentiators Amenities - Saltwater heated pool is long enough to do laps and it is kept very clean 12 months out of the year. The hot tub is also a larger one than is typical. Both gyms are well stocked with one having a auxiliary room that can be used for yoga or other individual workouts. The pool area also has two large gas grills. Staff - always responsive to our needs and maintenance requests are fulfilled almost always within 24 hours of submitting it online. The team at Park Place has been consistently supportive of various needs that have arisen over the years. Unit - high quality, appliances are new, they have cleaned our carpets when we asked as we have lived here for consecutive years now Noise - very quiet overall; we are in a building made of steel/plaster so it is a bit different than the units that seem to be more focused on wooden construction so it may be different in the other buildings Location - I don't think there is a better location; great for running in the neighborhood as well; there are newer apartments on Castro Street & Alma - but they are literally next to the train station which is very noisy 30-60 times a day every day of the year and at Park Place you are 0.5 miles away from the train tracks so you will not hear the trains read more

Our family resided at Park Place for two years and absolutely loved the amenities, central location and staff. Eagle Park is only a few steps away and Castro st. is easily accessible if you want restaurants. The fountain at the center of the apartment complex is great for meeting other families and provides a nice contained area for the kids to ride their scooters/bikes around. Unfortunately, we had to relocate back to the East Coast. We'll miss the summertime bbq's at the pool house. read more

I wish you could give a place ZERO stars! The final slap in the face from Park Place South: Well, we've moved out into a much larger, cheaper and all-around better apartment. (really, SO much happier) Anyhow... Park Place is withholding half of our deposit!!! I assure you, my fellow yelpers, the apartment was left in great condition. We got the carpets cleaned and spent hours cleaning everything on their "move-out checklist" including inside cabinets, behind the fridge, the baseboards, window sills, etc. and still they screw us over! You suck Park Place!! read more

I would not recommend this place. The staff are for the most part inept and the management does not care. I've witnessed maintenance staff scrap parked cars on several occasions with rakes sticking out of their golf carts. The property itself is cheaply built and poorly insulated. Noise carries like at a Motel 6. They overwater the grounds, there are huge puddles and the drains are working overtime to clear the water. The worst thing is probably the policies of Prometheus which seem to be Tell a Tenant who is experiencing a major maintenance malfunction to.. "It's Fine." (aka Go Away!) Tactics you will experience if you you complain of a maintenance problem already on record with Promethus (but from previous tenant and neighbor). I did not know this was an unresolved ongoing issue, they ignored, intimidated, would not return phone calls, then told me "it's fine.." Basically never fix it. No matter how simple it is to fix. My two neighbors moved out over it. And then me. It's super loud. The shoddy construction is the first problem. Neighbors were generally aware and courteious of the shared wall situation. However Daily, you will here workers yelling over leaf blowers, maids bickering. it's rarely quiet or relaxing during the day, even on weekends at 8am. The staff at the leasing agency never seem to be able to answer questions directly, they say they don't know.. and everyone you speak with will tell you a different story. I noticed they tried to overcharge me double on the deposit paperwork. When i called them on it, they first challenged me harshy, then just an Ooops. The security telephone number on their only message line is for a company they no longer have a contract with. Stuff regularly disappears from the garage. I saw someone breaking in at 1 AM and called the security company to learn Promethus no longer has an account with them. The hot tub chemical balance is way off about half the time. Ruined my friends bathing suits as well as leaves chem rashes. The resort-like curb appeal and the spacious layout of the units doesn't make up for the negatives. They also jack the rent about a grand when your lease term expires, unless you commit to an additional year. RE: Ms. Alvarado's response, I personally gave you my notice and you avoided asked me why I was moving and instead glared at me and rudely shuffled me to one of your underlings who was busy and I had to wait. Then you returned to your dark office and went online.. perhaps to respond to negative yelp reviews. You had your real life opportunity to discuss this with me, and you chose not to take it. read more

I've been living here for over a year now and I can say my time here has been very pleasing! My roommate and I had an easy time moving in with the layout of the complex; it's a plus for me that parking here is incredibly easy (street parking between the complex and Eagle Park, lots of guest parking in the garage, gated assigned parking for residents) compared to what I've seen at other apartments. The location is placed beautifully along downtown if you're more of an outdoorsy person; there's so much to see along Castro St, and you can get a lot of shopping/errands done within a quick mile walk. Even with the complex being right next to a downtown area, I've never really felt as safe living anywhere else! I literally can take a walk in the late night and feel safer than anywhere else I've lived. The complex is family friendly and especially dog friendly, so it makes sense as to why I feel safe around here. However I may recommend against the area if you're sensitive to sound! The management and leasing staff hasn't given me any problems at all, and maintenance has done nothing but fix our apartment until it looks brand new again. I know they do their best to attend to all concerns from the neighbors here, but I can only assume how much and time it takes to attend to all of us here. Regardless, they respond with nothing but professional attitudes and persist in their efforts to make sure they can accommodate to us. They also hold some events here to get the neighborhood involved and included with each other which is very nice! I would definitely recommend Park Place to anyone who is looking to live alone, or with a family! It's given me nothing but home-y feelings. :) read more

Beware Park Place and their misleading rental rates to get you in the door before pulling a bait and switch to name a higher rate unless you're ok with an immediate move-in date! At the beginning of March, I toured Park Place and liked it a lot. Perks include proximity to Castro Street, multiple neighborhood parks, a tastefully renovated unit, and well-maintained amenities. While rent seemed to be on the high side, I've lived in Mountain View for a few years and am familiar with the rising rental market and the unfortunate reality of rental prices. However, when I asked for a quote I got a rude surprise. Unlike the many other apartments I've looked at in the South Bay, Park Place won't hold the rent they quote you beyond a few days from the date of the quote. If you're a potential tenant that is not looking to move in within days of seeing the apartment you must choose between an immediate move-in date to lease at the quoted rate but pay for a longer overlap between your current living situation and Park Place or a later move-in date with a substantially higher rent. Either way, you will be paying more than you expect. This policy is not standard and is clearly designed to gouge people--what percentage of potential renters touring apartments expect to move into their new apartment within a few days of that tour? Although rents in the area continue to rapidly rise and that is just the reality of the current rental market, renters being nickle and dimed for even more when already paying so much isn't acceptable.
