He was repeatedly neglected by staff by not giving him the pain medication in a timely manner, left in a hot, poorly ventilated room with no working air conditioning on that 3rd floor, and denied basic requests like ice water to relieve himself from the heat for hours. Staff also left unused medical equipment (syringes and needles) on his eating table, creating a serious health hazard. At one point, he was locked in a room with an irate dementia patient after the nurse walked out, held the door closed and refused to open the door -- even as my father yelled and banged on the wall for help. Visitors, including his wheelchair bound family member, had to beg staff to take action. Overall, his care was marked by neglect, unsafe conditions, and a lack of respect or urgency from hospital staff. No patient -- especially a vulnerable one -- should be treated this way.

I made an appointment with her because I was having some skin issues. I also decided to do a mole check. It turned out that I had two moles that I needed to have checked. One had some abnormalities and I was told that I could check it in a few months or have it removed. It was on my back and I'd rather not wait. She also informed me that she could remove it but she gave me other options if I wanted to go somewhere else. I felt completely fine with Dr. Parmar removing it. She has such a great bedside manner; she had calming music playing during the procedure and I felt at ease. The other mole turned out to be normal. As for my skin, it turns out that it was allergy-related. I have since gone to an allergist at Century Medical and Dental (at their Myrtle Avenue location) for an assessment. I will say that even if you make it on time for your appointment, be prepared to wait. I made the mistake of going to Whole Foods before my appointment, let's just say that I'm glad this was in March and not July. I highly recommend Dr. Neha Parmar if you're in need of a dermatologist.

The front desk faculty can be curt and direct and forgo pleasantries especially when there are a lot of people in line, but they aren't mean. Cons: * Wait times are hit or miss- either 20 min to 1.5 hr! * They don't allow cell phones, so bring magazines or e-books. * They are very strict on being a clinic that does NOT administer travel vaccines. So don't mention the word "travel" in the staff's presence or they will correct you immediately. I came back again to try and get a Hepatitis A vaccine shot for an upcoming trip to India, but got turned away because it was only for "high risk adults through age 59." Doesn't going to India make me high risk? I didn't know whether it was worth the effort to argue with the front lady on what is considered "high risk." Left disappointed.. Tips: * Make sure to read everything, I mean everything on, https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/services/immunization-clinics.page They have health/age restrictions for some shots. * Google Map "Fort Greene Health Center," NEVER their address, 295 Flatbush Ave., as it will direct you a residential apartment 30 min walk away. I learned this the hard way! * Closest way to get there is the Q, & B to DeKalb Ave and get out at the North side Willoughby St. entrance * Remember to bring your vaccination record, insurance card, and any other evidence for securing a vaccine.

I signed up for an annual physical, during which I had my blood drawn. I received quite a shock when I received the bill. In addition to charges for the physical and blood draw, I received charges for a second office visit, an after hours visit, and a mental health assessment, none of which I consented to. I called the billing office and asked for an explanation. They said the after hours charge was because my visit was at 5 p.m. The mental health assessment because I filled out a paper mental health form (which was never discussed with me). And the second office visit because I asked the doctor a few questions about my health. I explained that I had never consented to these extra services. They removed the after hours charge "as a courtesy" (like they're doing me a favor or something), but said the other charges stood and that my consent was not necessary. It took three and a half months and six phone calls, but finally the billing office agreed to the drop the charge for the second office visit, again "as a courtesy." One false charge remains, but I'm not contesting it because insurance covered the full cost. In any case, I certainly won't return to this medical office, and I urge everyone else to avoid it as well.

That being said, the doctor here is not my primary care physician but I was sick and wanted to see someone close by so I could get a prescription for an antibiotic if needed. The day started out like this - called at 7:30 am and left a message to have someone call back for an appointment. No call. The office opened at 10 am but their line was continuously busy so I just walked over there at 10:30. Though the doctor's name appeared on my insurance carrier's website as in network, it turns out he was not so I was told I'd have to pay $100 to see him. Fine. As I'm about to go in, the receptionist tells me it's cash only even though that information is not posted ANYWHERE in the office. When I asked why not credit or even a posting re cash only, she said, why would we post that when most of our patients are Medicaid? Um...because not ALL of the residents in the neighborhood are Medicaid if I'm there! Going to a local bodega cash machine is out of the question, so I left without seeing a doctor but went to the pharmacy next door for throat meds and had much better luck there than at that office. The doctor at this facility may be top notch, but I wouldn't know because just getting to see him was not possible under the circumstances. If you must see a doctor here, remember to bring cash and a lot of patience.
