Nurse online shops while patients scream for help
    Courtney H.

DO NOT EVER GO HERE. IT IS A POTENTIAL DEATH TRAP!! From start to finish, multiple horrors occurred at this hospital which kept me for 3 days and 3 nights most of which could have been avoided, if they had treated me properly from the start. I ended up being my own nurse, doctor, and advocate. 1) I arrived via ambulance for severe abdominal pain that was displaying as an appendicitis. Yet I was left forced to sit in a chair, screaming in pain in the ER for 4 hours when I could've been given a painkiller right away. 2) When I was finally laid on a stretcher, that I found myself, I was placed outside the bathroom with no screen and left unmonitored where crazy drug addicts and homeless people came back and forth 3) While the x-ray found that I had a blockage of the small intestine that needed to be flushed out, I was left untreated for 36 hrs - which prolonged the illness, the pain, and the stay. 4) I was left in the ER for 2 days instead of being given a room and the procedures started that would've healed my pain and condition quicker. 5) Despite food allergies and my illness, I was given the wrong foods for all meals. 6) I was lied to by a doctor who claimed I would be moved to a room and given treatments to alleviate my small intestine blockage. 8 hours later I was then told to do the treatment myself in the middle of the ER and use the public bathroom, which was not feasible. A poop-covered screen was then placed in front of me (see pic) 7) I was finally moved to a curtained area but no procedure was done. The following morning, the procedure had still not been done and I was still in pain in the ER. So I was forced to find a room, barricade myself in it with some medical machinery, and perform the procedure on myself! This private room was in the ER all along and should have been used by a nurse or a doctor to perform this necessary procedure when I was first examined!! Leaving the poison in my body for 36 hours extended both the stay and the organ damage leaving me with weeks of pain that I am still dealing with. 8) Instead of treating patients with the urgency that the ER room requires, ER nurses and doctors were whooping it up and even online shopping - ( see pic) 9) ER Nurses, doctors, and security allowed patients to be loudly talking and disturbing other patients, which meant patients got sicker because we got no rest. In addition, the place is like lying in a freezer, which if anyone has a fever or chills will make them very sick. 10) The nurse lied to me about my EKG which was abnormal so it was fortunate that I checked what it said. 11) My IV infiltrated twice. The first time it was taken out only after blood and fluid started dripping out in the ER. When I was finally moved to a room 48 hours after I arrived, the nurse incorrectly put the IV back IN THE SAME BLOWN VEIN! When I told her it hurt like crazy and was not normal, she checked it and claimed it was fine. I went to sleep for 2 to 3 hours and woke up with my arm full of IV fluid. There were no buttons to get a nurse's attention, so I walked out into the hall and showed the new nurse. I told her it had to come out urgently but she ignored me and didn't do anything. So I had to go to the front desk and yell at all the assembled doctors! If I had not woken up, the entire IV bag would have gone into my arm instead of my vein, which could've caused nerve damage, a blood clot, amputation, and/or killed me! The resident, who took it out, then had the sheer gall to say that it was fortunate that I had been vigilant. What happens to patients, who are too incapacitated or do not know, to be vigilant?! 12) I was a witness to the elder abuse of Ms. Black, the Alzheimer's patient, that they put me in the room with. She was curled up, naked, in her bed and left for the entire day I was in with her. She kept asking for water and was ignored. 3 meal cycles passed and no one straightened her up and fed her or gave her water. It was also freezing in the room and she was naked and uncovered for the entire time. I am very concerned about this situation and this needs to be rectified immediately. I have called to check on her and she is still there 3 weeks later despite them lying and saying they were moving her to a nursing home. 13) When lunch came again and it was milk and other inappropriate foods again, I insisted they discharge me. When the discharge papers came, they were inaccurate and I had to re-write them and wait 3 more hours to get them changed!! So from start to finish, I had to be my own nurse, doctor, and advocate at this horrible hospital. The pain and intestinal infection has caused long-term damage due to it not being properly handled from the get-go. My left arm where the IV infiltration occurred was still not better 2 weeks later, so I will have had to go to urgent care twice. In addition, I now have a bacteria infection and rash from where they injected me without first using alcohol wipes, so that is being treated.

A couple of years ago, I was lent a monitoring device. When I returned it and asked for a receipt…read morethe receptionist said they don't give a receipt. A couple of weeks later they billed me a few hundred dollars for the device. Eventually it was cleared up but I saw dishonesty. On 7/15/2025 I went there for a routine checkup with Dr. Kabalkin and they first conducted the 5 minute EKG. He handed me the printout and said I could tape it to my refrigerator. When I asked about the previous diagnostic report. he told me he didn't write the report because he was on vacation and a different doctor wrote it and it's all manufactured lies. For this routine checkup with Dr. Kabalkin on July 15,2025 my insurance was billed $1,337. Why put a person through paying co-pays, billing his insurance at very high rates, making him patiently cooperate with monitoring devices and all kinds of testing if the diagnostic report is all "manufactured lies"? This is the highest form of dishonesty and corruption.

I've been calling them for 3 days to request the results (which SHOULD have been sent to us automatically since we are the referring physician). Yesterday I finally spoke with someone, she told me "I already faxed those results" - clearly, we did not get them - that is why I am calling. She said she would fax them again, never received. I called again today, spoke to the same woman (who would not give her name), this time she tells me that the patient is not in their system then HANGS UP ON ME. Now the patient is on her way here for a procedure that she needs to have pending these blood results. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE customer service.

My experience with BeWell hasn't really been that well lately. But when it comes illness and pain…read moreits hard to find a decent place nearby my residence of Brooklyn. I put up with this PM department just for medication while weening off the oxycodone at 5mg per day. But the muscle relaxer was the most important as it helped with spasms. First things first, I tried PT with an older male that really wasn't appropriate...after the second issue with how I was "handled", I finally made a grievance. Worst decision because the two young women at checkin ended up being a bit unprofessional about it. So, I put up with it for a couple y-e-a-r-s. I eventually said to them to please stop talking about patients and (assuming other coworkers at BW). Left it at that ...even after the woman on the right side eventually said, "Im gonna look you up then..." But in early 2026 a new hire popped up yet again after I'd already seen ppl come & go. Most of the med assistants seemed cool and professional overall. Pearl, one of the supervisors, was always cool with me even if I experienced her behavior over others. Whatever. But this NEW hire in early 2026 would be the most trash "professional" that got me crashed out to be fair. Never met her personally ...never ever interacted with her either. Three months ago, Lisa, as I believe is her first name and is a hispanic middle aged woman, would say something derogatory out of nowhere as she walked by me while sitting in a chair. True, I had a terrible haircut. But tf, right? The way Pearl would EVENTUALLY defend this person was point blank a false statement. When this happened, I had to think about what just happened, I retorted back at this Lisa (medical something). She didn't say squat. She would never ever say anything along the lines of "No I didn't mean that." She never defended herself. So yup. I don't at all care about my reaction. This was so wrong and again out of nowhere. Moreover, Lisa has used the n word around patients while she was talking to the other two at the front desk. After this "Ouch!" 'gorgeous', bubbly woman crashed me out, I'd finally issue a grievance to an office manager by the name of ANNA about it. She said that she would handle it and apologized. I was actually trying not to implicate others -- other than Lisa...but I did emphasize to ANNA that there were others at the front who had not been so professional, including gossip and language. Matter of fact, last year, one of them mentioned briefly that light skin women weren't necessarily attractive. Whatever, right? It's Brooklyn, right? Who wants to cause more drama over trash? Me, myself and I after this would happen to me to my face...along with YESTERDAY, MAY 11, 2026. Because middle aged, pear shaped, obese Lisa was so insecure and filled with guilt that she had brought a larger, younger (light skin, wouldn't you know) woman to "look" at me...before that larger woman chucked and motioned with her very large legs kicking out towards me while both women looked at me. DIDN'T PHASE EITHER OF THEM ONE BIT. So how could I, a patient, not interpret that as some kind of threat? Biggum was basically motioning that I was going to be refused service, I reckon. Ok, but life's too short, right? We don't all have to like each other. Anyway, ANNA, I will be needing some information and in case you have not deleted any videos from this whole ordeal, I will try to get my attorney to subpoena your medical center. As well, I will emailing you and requesting information on company ownership, licensing for all involved as well. I know what I may be up against. I've put with this cult of folks in NYC for years ...but I am way too old for this situation to go unresolved. You and Layla (who I also want full name and credentials as an RN) may or may not realize that I was not the one to put up with this situation by someone that I'd never hired to clean my apartment let alone as a "medical assistant" who already knows my PERSONAL information. Update 05/24: emailed BW for information on ownership, license, and video recovery without any response. As well, I didn't add how Pearl would make up excuses for what this Lisa individual said... when no such things happened. Lisa was not complaining via "ouch" over her feet. Pearl seemed to make it all up after I finally told her what this immature middle aged woman said as she walked by me. On May 11, after I stood up for myself over two grown ass adults who were trying to harangue me in front of me, Pearl would defend them and accuse me of cursing at her to a Layla (who sided with Pearl without any proof...b/c we all know this is a pill mill for profit). This after Pearl asked if I didn't want ppl looking at me. Pretty pathetic gas lighting if you ask me. As well, Layla would ask me how I was doing and if I dared mention arthritis she'd say "ok ok " in seconds. Lame that I had to go through this w this class of ppl every month.
