My father, who was a patient, experienced extremely poor treatment during his stay at Interfaith Medical Center. He was repeatedly neglected by staff by not giving him the pain medication in a timely manner, left in a hot, poorly ventilated room with no working air conditioning on that 3rd floor, and denied basic requests like ice water to relieve himself from the heat for hours. Staff also left unused medical equipment (syringes and needles) on his eating table, creating a serious health hazard. At one point, he was locked in a room with an irate dementia patient after the nurse walked out, held the door closed and refused to open the door -- even as my father yelled and banged on the wall for help. Visitors, including his wheelchair bound family member, had to beg staff to take action. Overall, his care was marked by neglect, unsafe conditions, and a lack of respect or urgency from hospital staff. No patient -- especially a vulnerable one -- should be treated this way. read more

It was the worse experience I have ever had at a hospital. I came in with the ambulance on excrutioning pain and yes there was a big disruption with cops n some man. But at the same time I wanted hours to be seen by the Resident. I was crying historically because of the pain level I seen the Resident and he said he will give me pain medicine since I'm allergic to Morphine. No one came to give me medication at all. I went upstairs to get an Ultrasound then after that still nothing . They just dealing with other people from homeless to crazy people. Honestly, Inrather die that come to this hospital. Finally was seen in the last hour or so to then give me Tynelol which they could've given me toredol for my pain because again I'm allergic to morphine. And also a I was given Protonix injection through the IV. As far as Nurse Johnson giving me medication it was ok. But the needle when drawing blood was hurting based on the angle in wrist. I was asked to pee in a cup and when I went the bathroom disgusting it looks like it wasn't cleaned in weeks and honestly I didn't want to do it but had to choice to. There was paper in the machine not soap to wash my hands which was fucking ridiculous. Then for them not to use it . I was then given discharge papers n waited an 45 mins to have IV taken out . When I got in the uber on my way home i had blood dripping down my arm because it wasn't fully stopped. THIS HOSPITAL NEED TO GET SHUT DOWN !!!! OR REEVALUATED!!! read more

Came here to see my father. It was nice it seems like he was nicely taken care of. The flow of the 4th floor overall seems seamless. The nurses however with the patients are very direct. I'm not in the profession but i definitely do sense some sternness rather than nurturing. I mean it's a bitter sweet I really don't see my old man give in that easy. I get it though. I say it's not easy to work in the profession. I want to commode-rate them for their hard work. At walk in the guards are nice and the building is welcoming and comfortable. You can trust it. He did a CT scan on my shin to see if I broke it and he confirmed that it's not broken. I was admitted here when I got Covid this year. I would not recommend this hospital to visit and or be admitted and it's a shame too because it's right in the hood if God forbid I would ever need emergency services again this would not be the place I'd come. I was in an emergency room bed trapped for more than 24 hours and the sounds and the things I saw I do not want to experience again! Dr. Peter Berg performed an outstanding cataract surgery to my right eye at Interfaith MC. I was surrounded by the Best of the Best! The procedure might have been routine to Dr. Berg & his team, but it was a miracle to me. The greatest blessing of all was all of the talented, kind, attentive staff who provided care to me that day. There were so many nice people in different capacities, I cannot remember all of their names. Prudence, Yvonne, Anna, Ms. Miller & other very kind human beings. I also would like to give a 5 Star rating to the Attending Resident, Oph Priya Sorab, MD. She is the super-glue that keeps/kept everything connected. I must also add that the MyOneBrooklyn Network & the affiliated medical centers, clinics & related hospitals are the best thing that has ever happened to me, regarding my physical health & well being. DO NOT EVER GO HERE. IT IS A POTENTIAL DEATH TRAP!! From start to finish, multiple horrors occurred at this hospital which kept me for 3 days and 3 nights most of which could have been avoided, if they had treated me properly from the start. I ended up being my own nurse, doctor, and advocate. 1) I arrived via ambulance for severe abdominal pain that was displaying as an appendicitis. Yet I was left forced to sit in a chair, screaming in pain in the ER for 4 hours when I could've been given a painkiller right away. 2) When I was finally laid on a stretcher, that I found myself, I was placed outside the bathroom with no screen and left unmonitored where crazy drug addicts and homeless people came back and forth 3) While the x-ray found that I had a blockage of the small intestine that needed to be flushed out, I was left untreated for 36 hrs - which prolonged the illness, the pain, and the stay. 4) I was left in the ER for 2 days instead of being given a room and the procedures started that would've healed my pain and condition quicker. 5) Despite food allergies and my illness, I was given the wrong foods for all meals. 6) I was lied to by a doctor who claimed I would be moved to a room and given treatments to alleviate my small intestine blockage. 8 hours later I was then told to do the treatment myself in the middle of the ER and use the public bathroom, which was not feasible. A poop-covered screen was then placed in front of me (see pic) 7) I was finally moved to a curtained area but no procedure was done. The following morning, the procedure had still not been done and I was still in pain in the ER. So I was forced to find a room, barricade myself in it with some medical machinery, and perform the procedure on myself! This private room was in the ER all along and should have been used by a nurse or a doctor to perform this necessary procedure when I was first examined!! Leaving the poison in my body for 36 hours extended both the stay and the organ damage leaving me with weeks of pain that I am still dealing with. 8) Instead of treating patients with the urgency that the ER room requires, ER nurses and doctors were whooping it up and even online shopping - ( see pic) 9) ER Nurses, doctors, and security allowed patients to be loudly talking and disturbing other patients, which meant patients got sicker because we got no rest. In addition, the place is like lying in a freezer, which if anyone has a fever or chills will make them very sick. 10) The nurse lied to me about my EKG which was abnormal so it was fortunate that I checked what it said. 11) My IV infiltrated twice. The first time it was taken out only after blood and fluid started dripping out in the ER. When I was finally moved to a room 48 hours after I arrived, the nurse incorrectly put the IV back IN THE SAME BLOWN VEIN! When I told her it hurt like crazy and was not normal, she checked it and claimed it was fine. I went to sleep for 2 to 3 hours and woke up with my arm full of IV fluid. There were no buttons to get a nurse's attention, so I walked out into the hall and showed the new nurse. I told her it had to come out urgently but she ignored me and didn't do anything. So I had to go to the front desk and yell at all the assembled doctors! If I had not woken up, the entire IV bag would have gone into my arm instead of my vein, which could've caused nerve damage, a blood clot, amputation, and/or killed me! The resident, who took it out, then had the sheer gall to say that it was fortunate that I had been vigilant. What happens to patients, who are too incapacitated or do not know, to be vigilant?! 12) I was a witness to the elder abuse of Ms. Black, the Alzheimer's patient, that they put me in the room with. She was curled up, naked, in her bed and left for the entire day I was in with her. She kept asking for water and was ignored. 3 meal cycles passed and no one straightened her up and fed her or gave her water. It was also freezing in the room and she was naked and uncovered for the entire time. I am very concerned about this situation and this needs to be rectified immediately. I have called to check on her and she is still there 3 weeks later despite them lying and saying they were moving her to a nursing home. 13) When lunch came again and it was milk and other inappropriate foods again, I insisted they discharge me. When the discharge papers came, they were inaccurate and I had to re-write them and wait 3 more hours to get them changed!! So from start to finish, I had to be my own nurse, doctor, and advocate at this horrible hospital. The pain and intestinal infection has caused long-term damage due to it not being properly handled from the get-go. My left arm where the IV infiltration occurred was still not better 2 weeks later, so I will have had to go to urgent care twice. In addition, I now have a bacteria infection and rash from where they injected me without first using alcohol wipes, so that is being treated. read more

Went to the Cardiologist on Bergen St and had to wait 3 hours to see a doctor. This is the third time I have seen this doctor 3 times and he is always late. The poor staff is overwhelmed and lying to the patients about what's going on. My appointment was for 1pm, I arrived at 12:15 and I didn't see the doctor until after 3 pm. Totally wrong, then the doctor comes in rushing and not spending the proper amount of time each patient. The patients seem all senior citizens and they shouldn't be treated like this. Then they don't have enough seats for the people and the underpaid security comes and tries to tell people where they can and cannot stand. This place is the worst... A new standard in care: none. Bring someone with you to the ER to help you campaign for treatment, because God knows, they will do everything but try to get out of the bare minimum. This is my fourth visit after being turned away when I asked for testing for massive infection- the last time I went in, I put both feet on the ground and stated I would not leave the premises without a full panel of blood tests, by the time the results came back I had to be admitted into a quarantine section of the hospital as my infection had spread beyond what could be treated as an outpatient. The doctor/s straight up refused to test me, even though I had visible symptoms, and told me that I "worried too much" and that I "googled too much", and would not be bothered to treat me until I caused a small scene, and then after my diagnosis was confirmed, there was no apology, or change in manner. 7hrs.......7hrs sitting for bull. We got this hospital at 12:30pm and they told us right when we got there they were planning to do a CT of the patient were there for. We sit and wait. I work in a clinic that does CTs so I know it's not gonna take more than an hr to do it and maybe another hour for someone to read the images and write out a report. Nope... 3:30 comes around and they said the patient is now just getting rolled into CT. So we wait again now it's around 5:30 and they come out AGAIN to tell us the patient is on their way to CT....how far is y'all's CT department?! In another borough?!!! 6:15 comes around FINALLY RESULTS. We asked further questions and they kept saying they can't tell us anything because of HIPPA but they will ask the patient. I'm assuming they never asked because this is our family they will let us know. 6:30 comes around and they tell us they have to be transported because of so and so reason and we all dipped out of there. 7hrs almost sitting there waiting for them to tell us one thing literally anything. AND WHY WERE THEY TAKING THEM TO CT FROM 12:30-6:15 like wtf man?! It took y'all about 6 hours to wheel a patient to CT?! Get more organized, if ur Radiology department requires u to go into a tunnel and walk 6 miles then I'll understand but no way y'all say 6 hrs consistently that they are getting a scan or whatever. read more

1. This place gave me hospital PTSD, then laughed me out of the place when I later showed up in the ER with what turned out to be anxiety. (Do NOT ever go to this ER with any kind of psychiatric issue.) 2. Podiatry did dressing changes on wounds that, upon leaving and going to a wound specialist, I found out were causing just as much damage as good. The last change they did made me yell with pain and yet the one the wound care nurse did less than a week later -properly- had zero pain during changes and was healed in a month. 3. Because Staff blatantly talks about patients negatively where they can hear (for real) I ended up spiraling into hospital psychosis and thought people were saying things they weren't saying and that the tv was sending me secret messages. Now that I can distinguish between reality and the psychosis I believe some of the staff helped set it off. For example one nursing assistant if I did anything, verbally or not, to indicate pain told me I sounded weak and pathetic. 4. There is apparently no pain management specialist. Before I went in I was on extended release opioids for years and because they were doing IM injections of a different short acting opioid I experienced withdrawal symptoms between doses for a time. One doc told me withdrawal symptoms "don't work that way." Anyone who knows anything about pain management knows they absolutely do. Looking back all they had to do was reduce the IM doses and add a low dose oral ER med but apparently that was too fucking complicated to figure out. I was up all night every night in pain. Now I have nightmares about it every night. read more

DONT GO HERE. Came in with a fever. They didn't give a single fuck about me. One of the nurses was laughing at me asking me why I was there if I only had a fever. I told her I didn't know if it was Covid and that my fever had reached over 104 degrees. They took me and put me in a room for 3 hours where I had the chills. No medicine was administered to me, and I was too weak to call for help. If I would have died (which I know is dramatic, but is to prove a point) They wouldn't have even been there in time to save my life. You are dealing with people here, not animals, and even still I would give animals better treatment than I got. Finally got one nurse who saw that I had a fever and got me down to stable levels. I think I was stuck with that fever at the hospital for more than 6 hours before anyone did anything about it. SHUT THIS HOSPITAL DOWN. I'm scared for people who have life threatening scenarios. First off their website needs to be updated. When you try to access the patient portal it tells you to email some random employee, but guess what the employee no longer works there!! Second, nobody (operator, IT) has a clue who you need to contact regarding the patient webportal. Thirdly now for me to get the medical records I am being told I can either go down to the hospital or submit a fax, he said I can get the number off the website ( but you just told me it needs to be updated) I will make this offer Interfaith all remarks aside. You need an administrator to organize support staff, administrative staff, and to get the ball rolling on upgrading or outsourcing IT. My experience in getting blood work done (though completely unexpected) and with my psychiatrist were both great- very friendly, polite people who explained everything thoroughly. However, one receptionist at the Mental Health Center was absolutely awful. She seems like she hates her existence and looked at me like I had three heads when I said I had an appointment. My review is for the Dental Portion which I've had terrible experiences with. I rarely see the same dentist each visit, which is understandable if this is a training facility--but I don't think records are properly documented for the procedures to be seamless. I've had several appointments canceled, procedures that had to be done over. I've been working on getting partial dentures and implants for over a year. I get a certain amount of funds to cover this through my insurance--claims have to be sent in--During my last visit--when I finally thought I was on my way to get impressions for my dentures--I was told that the claim had been denied. I called my insurance and was told it was because of the timing--and all they needed to do was to resubmit the claim. I called the person responsible for this at Interfaith--she told me she would call my insurance company herself and get back to me--this has been months ago--whenever I go to the dental clinic or call to speak with her she's never there. There was a notice up with a number and person to speak to if you have problems with the service--I was able to leave a message once--no one got back to me--and after that first attempt the phone just rings , no answer and you're not able to leave a message. My overall experience has been awful--the people I see, including the receptionists have been fine--it's just the appointments, and getting procedures done--oh another thing is appointments and availability--most times appointments are not readily available and there are long times in between appointments--which effects services needed and claims submitted also read more

Six hours in the ER waiting to see a doctor. Seven and a half hours total. At one point I was one of three patients, all trying to make eye contact with someone walking by, and we were all ignored. When the hospital chaplain came by to inform me pain is caused by a rotting/broken relationship with God, that didn't help. Maybe for the doctor to finally spend a minute and a half on me and then an hour and a half to write a prescription (after being reminded twice) is normal. There were flies in the waiting room. The woman in the bed next to mine was still calling out "is someone going to give me something for this pain? I've been in pain for hours!" with an empty IV in her hand when I left. It's Felicia Webb again, I truly thought I was DONE with this hospital but I received a phone call from a friend of mine Of 40 years, she informed me that from the previous yelp complaints against this hospital that her friend Miss Sherroni Perry told her that if I did remove my complaints and she lost her job her son and his friend would not be happy and something will be done against me. I brought my mother in yesterday for her second covid vaccine dose. My mom has dementia. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful to us and to all of those waiting on line. They made a stressful situation seem comforting. I had a major abdominal surgery Friday the 13th at 8 AM 2023 here at this hospital interfaith Medical Center St. John's I have never been treated worse in a facility in my entire life I've been neglected for over three hours and no pain med after a ovarian cyst removal along with my right ovary removed. They ordered to discharge me two days after my surgery with no suitable pain medications for the abdominal pain other than Motrin and stool softeners. They told me it's against our policy is to give me any pain medication in my IV because they have no heart monitor to monitor my heart in the surgical floor room for recovery so every time that I needed to have any pain medication they had to come in and stick a needle in my thighs for some type of pain relief with a morphine dosage. That was after the Percocet pill that they was giving me wasn't working for my pain pool surgery. The nurse that was assigned to me Friday the 13th 2023 night she was very rude and disrespectful and condescending when she asked me what my pain level was and I told her she didn't believe me and as I told her that I was going to sue she asked me how would I win. The day of my surgery as I was moved from OR to recovery to the surgical floor they neglected me for three hours with no pain medicine or any fluids. If I can give this hospital a zero star rating I would but it wouldn't let me and I would not recommend anybody or any of their love ones to come to this hospital if you love yourself or your loved ones do not come here for any surgery any check up or anything. And I will be suing this hospital. They haven't even monitored any bowel movements I haven't had any bowel movements and I can't even walk on my own. read more

I had anxiety attack on the train on my way to work. 911 was called. I was coherent just scared Because i didn't like the feeling i was having like i was going to faint. But no signs of danger to myself or others. Actually was getting comfort from others the whole time I waited in the station for ambulance and even from the emt workers whenthey arrived. Still very normal and coherent. Just wanted to go to hospital to make sure everything was ok. Well emt workers took me to interfaith and OMGGGGGGGGG. The experience was actually more frightening then the actual attack which fyi was really scary. I got to the hospital. My husband arrived as well. Nurse came took my vitals all was well and then return to tell me come with her and that my husband couldn't go. I was confused so of course I asked why he couldn't go. She Said it's a secure area. So I'm like but what I'm going there for. She respond you just have to see the doctor. Me trusting the hospital i went with her. She takes me threw d doors to an area where i realized i was locked in a psych ward. OMGGGGGGG wtf was going on. They strip search me took my phone and belongings no outside contact. I'm trying to tell them let me leave. I don't belong in here and they refuse. I'm explaning to them I just had anxiety attack and i voluntary came to the hospital to make sure I'm good. They all started to surround me like they wanted to give me a shot of the psych meds. I was scared to death. I asked then to get my husband plz. They actually did. But when he got back there and realize where they had me he freaked out. Trying to explain to the doctor i have no reason to be back there. But they kicked him out. Omg. Then i see a psychiatrist who asks me a bunch of psych questions that didn't even pertain to me. And prescribed me depression meds. And let me go. OMGGGGGG THE SCARIEST EVER.
