Positioned outside a church, these markets are made up of lots of little stalls (200+) of goodies made by local designers. It's rumoured that most of Australians top designers did a stint at these markets before making it BIG. This is a great place to find a unique item for yourself or a loved one and if anything isn't it nice to not be in a shopping mall.... On a sunny day its fun just to browse around, grab a snack from one of the vendors and soak in the atmosphere. There are lots of families and young people perusing the different collections. This is a great place to visit and has become a Paddington institute - so if you want to feel like a local - make sure you pop by.

Not a typical junk shop or garage store concept. Quality items (including plants from what I can recall) at really great prices. No wonder why the Paddington Bazaar attracts the crowds from all over Sydney; not to mention visitors to Sydney. Once your dash at the markets is over, there are great restaurants to eat at across the road. Sign on every isle will guide you find items that you need. The have their own bakery section, and hot food items, as you can choose and maybe try items on promotion, ( this lady is offering me tasting of roast chicken while I'm writing on this review ). This instance is located in the Broadway Sydney shopping mall, and provides all the necessary produce and food items. It's always fun to wander around and look at items that might not exist in the states, but also admit that there are international items that you would not find in a standard US grocery store, but here would exist because of the large Far East Asian population. Some examples were Buldak hot chicken flavor ramen, salmanco frozen desserts. Also found frozen pelmeni (Russian dumplings), Went to the pet supply area, and saw a variety of dog treats, including one probably found only in Australia: Kangaroo tail disks. Supposedly, they are sourced from wild kangaroos that are culled to maintain their population.

This store is also being featured on Channel 7's My Kitchen Rules a few times. I usually shop at this Coles during late hours since it closes at midnight. The disadvantage of shopping late is that many staffs are replenishing shelves. Which means it could be a bit difficult to get around. And some items might be sold out. Shop assistants are generally very helpful.

Sophie and Peter have the duty of selling me my bi-weekly travel 10 pass and I must say, they do so with style. Peter never fails to call me "Darling" and Sophie will always secretly pass me a Chinese chocolate or mystery lolly. It may not be the best stocked little market or have the hippest variety of rice cake, but because of the sweet nature of the owners, I won't go anywhere else for my bus ticket or gum purchasing needs. If you're ever feeling homesick, or need some oriental snack mix, hit up Foodworks. I don't suspect you'll be disappointed.

I don't think I've seen anything like it - not as big or well stocked as a supermarket, not as exxy and poorly stocked as a convenience store, it's perfect for busy workers rushing to or from work and in need of a grab-and-go meal. There's even a cafe onsite selling the cheapest coffee and cakes in Surry - $3 brownies, say whaaaaat? I'm yet to try the coffee here yet but boy has it been handy when I've been running to/from Central and needed to pick up a bag of washed spinach, a tub of yoghurt, a pack of bikkies or a bit of fresh fruit. It opens til late, heck it may even be open 24/7* - say whaaaaat? *don't quote me on that #wishfulthinking, but I'll check next time I swing by

There is little waiting when you have a trolley full or just a basket. There is a good range of fresh fruit and vegetables. There are fresh flowers outside the store and yes...a bottle shop! There are always specials being displayed and they have a loyalty card. It is a clean supermarket.
