Very disappointing experience - not the professional diagnostic promised…read more I booked my car in with VolcanMotors for what was clearly advertised and verbally confirmed as a professional and detailed diagnostic. When I made the booking, the owner assured me they would carry out proper due diligence and identify the root cause of the issue. Unfortunately, the experience fell far short of that expectation. After a few hours, I was told the "diagnostic" had been done using a diagnostic machine only, with no meaningful additional investigation. There was no visual inspection, no deeper fault-finding, and no attempt to properly validate the issue. They simply repeated the same fault code information I was already aware of. Based on this very superficial check, they quickly recommended a major and expensive repair -- without demonstrating any thorough analysis to justify it. When I asked reasonable questions to understand their process and reasoning, I was met with a rude and dismissive attitude rather than a professional explanation. What's most disappointing is not just the lack of diagnosis, but the lack of honesty and professionalism. If the garage does not have the expertise, time, or willingness to properly diagnose a vehicle, it would be far more professional to say so upfront rather than provide a costly recommendation based on a basic scan. I trusted them to treat both the job and me as a customer with professionalism and respect. Instead, I received neither. I would not return to this garage and would not trust their diagnostic conclusions.

I then took it back for replacement where it again broke a shortly after. Finally the situation was resolved after the hassle, I had. I even had to tow the vehicle myself! I then decided to take my car there for a MOT as I had done previously and on this occasion I had a very bad experience. They assessed it and failed it on its MOT and they tried to charge me half an hour labour for apparently needing the clean the mechanism on my seat belt, well that's what the sales guy initially told me. Turns out that was a lie and it was just stuck behind my boot which took me 30 secs to resolve (they changed this on the paper work before I got there.). They also tried to charge me £19.00 for a wiper blade I can buy from any factors for £4.00 and £10.00 for a bulb I can also buy for £4.00 myself. However after doing the work myself which also involved replacing a headlight I took it back for a free re test (that I had to negotiate for) and they told me they had to adjust the headlight aiming on both lights and re fit the headlight bulb I replaced. When I said can I just pop the headlight back in properly he angrily told me if you do that I will charge you for a full MOT! Which I found quite ridiculous and an excuse to charge me an additional labour cost. In the end for both popping a headlight in and adjusting the aiming on the headlights which took all of 5 mins (if that) as I watched him do it. They charged me £22.00. Most garages where you often take your car wouldn't normally charge for this at all. Avoid this company like the plague. I have had nothing but hassle with them and my family who also take their cars there won't be doing so anymore!

Found this little gem of a garage after working down the road at RAF Odiham. Taken both my cars…read morehere for various work and MOTs over the past five years. The owner Jim is a top bloke that will always do his best for you at a price you can afford. Straight up honest and truthful and doesn't try and blag you into any work that doesn't need doing (like some garages do). His team work on all types of motors even the more obscure American models such as Dodge, Chrysler etc. My only regret is I'm now posted to a separate base and I'll no doubt struggle to find an equally good garage to get my car fixed!
