Attempts to address potential misconduct or lack of transparency are met with suppression, fueling my determination to expose any injustices. Recent events underscore the need for transparency, especially within influential institutions. Red flags emerged with new leadership, but attempts to address them were dismissed. Similar patterns occurred at the leader's previous church in Moscow, Idaho, where NDAs silenced victims. Now he claims ignorance about his behavior, but that does not seem congruent with his past behavior and dismissal from prior church. This seems to be a pattern he most definitely is aware of. An executive pastor, upon confronting the leader about his behavior, was coerced into signing an NDA or face termination. Transparency was further compromised when information was blacked out during a congregation address, claiming ignorance of inappropriate behavior. It's our duty to hold institutions and leaders accountable. Using Matthew 18 as a shield is unacceptable, given the pattern of NDAs to conceal misconduct. Claims of firing for cause raise questions about addressing other misconduct transparently. Biblical standards for pastors emphasize qualities like self-control and accountability, urging transparency in cases of misconduct. I've witnessed dedicated individuals ousted under new leadership, replaced by the pastor's acquaintances, despite their integrity and commitment. They have teen nights, teen groups, young adult groups just about any group you could think of. The Christmas services here are just amazing and joyful. They always give me a spiritual connection. It can get very, very busy at Christmas time and at their Christmas services. They have food box days every other Thursday I believe I don't really know the whole deal with that. You have to check online on their website. They do lots of outreach trips as well. They have rented out of space in their lobby for a shaved ice company as well so even if you want to just come in and check out the shaved ice company I think that's cool. You don't have to be spiritual, religious , or a member of the church to buy shaved ice. I'd recommend checking this place out.

What was once a meaningful, grounded community now feels overly focus on image and presentation. Tom's sermons feel more like motivation talks than spiritual guidance. He talks a lot about himself and all his athletic achievements, often in ways that feel self-promoting rather than uplifting. At times, it's really hard to relate to him. One moment that really stood out was when he shared a story about his son's PS5 getting scammed, only to have multiple people offer up their brand-new PS5 console. While that may come from a place of generosity, it felt tone-deaf considering not everyone has access to that kind of support system. He's also made an offhand comment implying that food allergies are caused by being "coddled" as a child... something that couldn't be further from the truth and felt insensitive. His loud, youth-style clothing he wears on stage sometimes feels like we're watching someone work through a mid-life crisis rather than leading a congregation. I was recently asked to recommend a church, and for many years my answer would've been EHills. But not anymore. The atmosphere feels more snobby and stuck up the community I once cherished has lost its heart. I truly miss Pastor Shawn and his genuine, humble approach he brought. I miss Pastor Phil and his uplifting Bible sermons. Watching this shift has been disheartening.

I have to say, this one was one of the most welcoming and organized churches around. That is very important to me, specifically regarding the safety of my children. I felt they had a great process for child check in, pick up, and they even had parking assistants to help you find a spot in the parking lot! The music was great, very practiced and the Sermon was delivered is a very understandable way. It was easy to relate what was being said, to my personal life and situation. This is exactly what I want. I don't like being lectured to, or spoken down to as if "they've made it to the top, and I'm still struggling on my path." I enjoy sermons where the Pastor relates our day to day problems and struggles with the scriptures. It feels real, it feels authentic. It doesn't feel "judgmental" so you look forward to coming back and hearing more!

During that time, I went through a deeply painful period in my life--my ex-husband was cheating on me, but continually gaslit me, telling me I was crazy and needed medication. We went to counseling with Russ, who sided with him. Russ insisted my ex probably wasn't cheating and that I should seek therapy and get on meds. Eventually, the truth came out--he was cheating--and the church offered zero support. No accountability, no care, nothing. My mom, Debra Finnegan, also worked for the church for a while. In 2022, she lost both of her parents--and again, no flowers, no cards, no calls. No acknowledgment at all. And this week--on Thursday morning--my 28-year-old sister passed away unexpectedly. I reached out to Scotty, Russ, and Cory. Scotty read my message and didn't respond. My mom emailed Travis, who replied saying someone would reach out. It's now been nearly a week, and still no response from anyone. We lost a sister, a mom, and a daughter. I'm deeply hurt, disappointed, and disgusted by the coldness and indifference shown by this church. It's clear that care, compassion, and support are not values they live out--not unless you're a favorite or fit their mold.
