My baby was born premature this summer and he passed away. There's so many positive things I could…read moresay about this funeral home. First, the stupid nurse at the hospital told me she would watch my baby personally until the funeral home picked him up. She did not. I called the funeral home the evening after leaving the hospital to see if they had picked up my baby yet, but they said they had never gotten a call from the hospital. Even still, they went and got my baby. It was late and they didn't have to do that. I literally cannot explain how much that meant to me that they went and got my baby after hours. I know I wasn't thinking straight, but knowing that my baby was in a funeral home that cared about him instead of the hospital morgue made me feel so much better. Also, the director and assistant director, and literally everyone we came in contact with was so sensitive and supportive of all of our wishes. We even asked if we could see our baby after he had been very warm and decomposing in my arms for a couple days. I could tell it made them slightly uncomfortable, but they let me do it anyway. That meant so much to me. They handled him as if he were a real baby and not just some dead baby doll, like so many others had treated him. Also, when my husband had called them a day after our baby was born, there was some miscommunication that happened, and his death date was wrong on his original grave marker. When I called them and told them that, they came out that same day and fixed it. I had even told them that it was fine if it took a few weeks to do that. But they did it immediately.

Thank heavens we met Richard. He spent a lot of time with me not only discussing the many options at Pine Forest but sharing my grief. His kindness and empathy are exceptional. He really helped me and our family navigate this difficult time with patience and understanding. He was available for my numerous questions and answered them promptly, We set up arrangements for my Dad, Mom and us. We also recommended him to our recently widowed neighbor. We did have a snafu with recent management wanting to charge us $2000 dollars for a weekend cremation service which is free during the week. But Richard handled everything well, Richard designed an amazing marker for my parents. We all loved it. But sadly we couldn't tell him in person. We wish him well with his future endeavors.
