I wouldn't recommend this institution because I don't know exactly what the financial aid covers, but it definitely doesn't include books. Every book I needed, I had to purchase with my own funds. Online classes are one month at a time, and my professor waits until the last minute to input grades. The Brightspace platform is difficult to access (they don't use Canvas), and there are no online books for the classes either. Additionally, Amazon takes about 2-3 weeks to deliver the books. After this semester, I plan on transferring. Update: After talking to Amber from Student Affairs, grades from previous classes are now available to view. Ms. Ragsdale is much better than my last professor. She communicates well, and there have been several occasions where I emailed her, and she responded the same day or the next day. She also inputs grades on time. read more

I seriously had to laugh at the review about Parker being for "straight" chiropractic because when I was there, it was all about "mixing" and "medipractic" and playing the insurance game. I do agree about Irving though as that was where I did my internship. IMHO, Dr. Parker would be rolling over in his grave if he knew what is going on at the school he founded. I had a great experience because of some pretty amazing instructors and passed all my boards the first time. I also made lifelong friends. Unfortunately, Parker got rid of most of the instructors that I had so cannot provide any feedback on current instructors. I usually recommend Sherman though if you want to become a DC. And, make sure that you love the business side or have a strong business background or can hire good staff because that's what burnt me out. I retired my license last year because even though I loved adjusting, I hated the business aspect. If I had it to do all over, would I? No. If I could time travel and talk to myself before starting at Parker in 2006, I would say, "Self, don't do it... " And, sell the house in Galveston while you can before 2008! read more

I am currently enrolled here and I have 2 complaints. First, everything is fast paced. They cram 12 to 16 weeks worth of info into 4 weeks which leaves little room to really learn in my opinion. 2nd, it's so unorganized! I feel like the people who are supposed to be there to help you end up gaslighting you and dismissing you and then try to avoid you when you ask questions later. I wish there was a way to do a Google review as well. Ask 1 stop and financial aid are very disappointing. read more

Love the University and their program, I have been to plenty of the seminars and find great value. A few of my friends have attended the program and the curriculum is wonderful. When it comes to customer service and purchasing something it could be better. Just recently I purchased an activator from their library to gift to our doctor here at the clinic, you would think something of that value ($1400) they would ship over night and with signature requirement. Long story short , it never made it to us because someone broke into the shopping center mail box. With that said we reached out to let them know and all they offered was to give me 20% off a second purchase. When once again I know for a fact as a business owner that if I made that kind of mistake with one of my clients purchases as much a I would hate it, I would eat the cost to make it right. Who sends something of that value through USPS. Like I said nothing bad about the school but if your going to order something make sure they overnight, require signature and get a tracking number! read more

This is NOT a real chiropractic school. They don't teach nor live the true chiropractic art and philosophy. All they care about is making their money, and getting you to pass exams. My clinical experience there was ALL non sense! Felt like I was being intentionally put under constant stress with the clinic doctors. They're all under the medical umbrella. I recommend you looking into Sherman or Life university instead of going to this school. I've been at the school for 2 years, the program is tough but do-able. The professors are good people and most really want to help the students. Watch out for tri 1 & 2, those are the make you or break you tri's. Again in tri 4, you'll hit some very unforgiving professors!!! The program's class schedule has recently changed and makes it more difficult on the students. Once the classes started at 7am and ended at noon. Allowing the student to miss traffic. Now the same schedule might require the student to start at 8 and end at 5pm. Hitting traffic coming and going. Some days you'll get 2 hours for lunch and other days you won't get a lunch at all. Some students have giant holes in their schedule requiring them to sit around for 2-4 hours for one lab to start. (The students came together and petitioned to stop the schedule change but we were ignored) The school is "exam happy"! One trimester we were given 17 exams in a 17 day period. The program is easy for the first 5 weeks of your trimester but then the exams and practicals will all be piled on for the following 10 weeks, it can be extremely overwhelming!!! You get little time to practice adjusting. I've taken diversified 1 & 2, gonstead, thompson, upper cervical and was never allowed to adjust in those classes. You are graded on the ability to setup on a patient, not on how well you can adjust. You'll get 3 trimesters in an adjusting only lab but the downside is its 70 students with 10 doctors. So you'll get very little time to studying under the guidance of one of the doctors. Unfortunately, the lab only meets once a week for 2 hours and you have to be a patient. Many of us wish it meet 2 or 3 times a week. Many classes could be online classes but you are forced to sit through hours of boring lectures!!! Many students just sit in the back and watch Netflix. If you are a student who doesn't do well in hours and hours of lecture and needs hands on training, this may not be the school for you. Many students seek outside seminars to teach to how to adjust or mentors. No adjusting on campus is allowed. Many students leave the school in 200-250k in debt. Sum up: Unforgiving program, little time to master adjusting skills, expensive, many wasted hours sitting and waiting for your next class, amount of exams is rough but you'll have nightmares about the practicals! UPDATE:::::: Tri 8-10 are the clinic trimesters, these are the worst! I lowered my rating of Parker based off my clinic experience. The clinic requires you to see 250 external patients, however, the staff docs have total control over pulling your credits or giving you patients. The clinic takes a 3 hour lunch break everyday, it's a pain if you are trying to see a patient during their lunch hour. Avoid Dr Hernedez as a staff doc, all of her interns act like abused children after 4 months with her! Dr Paterno will take away credit faster than anyone and is considered the "jerk" doc of the clinic. Dr Tam is passive aggressive watch out for his mood swings. Dr Pilson only gives external patients to her fav intern. Dr Walters won't give you any external patients if you upset him. Dr Beard will eat up all your time to make sure you do the paperwork to her liking. Dr Marth and Dr Raper are good men! I hear if you must pick a clinic pick the Irving clinic, the doctors are more friendly towards interns and willing to teach and help the intern reach their graduation requirements. The billing department will pull credits too. They expect you to know how and what they are doing in the billing side but never communicate with the interns. No other chiro school requires the students to get 250 external (paying) adjustments. They simply require you to treat 250 people. It's a money game at Parker and it ultimately hurts the students. If a student doesn't reach the goals Parker has set, then the student is not allowed to do their internship outside of the Parker clinic. It's all up to the intern to go out into the community and recruit their own patients. If the intern is still not able to reach their 250 external adjustments by tri 10, then the intern is at risk of staying another trimester or being kicked out of the program. It's a horrible system. I regret attending this university with my entire soul! If you are looking to attend this university, I challenge you to ask 5 interns what they think of the Parker before you attend (ask them off campus)! Also, if you aren't a "straight" chiro be ready to be an outcast!!! If you don't know what a "straight" chiro is, look it up before you sign up! If you don't have a "straight" chiro philosophy then consider a DO program. read more

My son attended Parker Chiropractic University. The school was ok until you enter the clinic phase. If you do not live in Dallas or have a built in pool of patients your chances of getting out of clinic are very slim. You pay over a hundred thousand dollars only to fail clinic and be dismissed. Parker is not a true Chiropractic School. Basically if you graduate you have a doctorate in physical therapy. If you are interested in becoming a true Chiropractor you need to attend Sherman College in South Carolina. Sherman uses the clinic to teach you how to be a Chiropractor. Sherman also charges the public about 1/4th the amount other Chiropractors charge so it is easy to bring patients into the clinic. I am so thankful my son transferred to Sherman and graduated as a true Chiropractor. I would encourage prospective student to look at Sherman and also current students at Parker to consider transferring to Sherman. read more

Your review helps others learn about great local businesses. My experience at parker was wonderful while doing my basics; I meet so many students I can relate too. Working full time with kids and manage to go to school at night. I was so excited to start the sonography class, class hours were 3 days a week half a day. Let's start with the interview process you get to meet the Angela Smith (director) and 2 teachers, right away the director had told me she could tell English was my second language that should have been a red flag. The first class was easy no complains besides Angela always interrupting class, walking in gossiping with teacher. Seriously can't this wait till the end of the day, I know she has plenty of emails and calls for the people interested in applying. Now to the second class, this class was hard I was passing with a C but depending on what I make on the final I could continue or fail. First off this teacher would lecture us and say if I would you highlight this might be on test that was not always true, than her excuse would be well I can't just handle it too you, you guys need to work for it or if you guys are doing this for the money well you guys are NOT going to graduate. At this point half the class was failing; keep in mind I would come here even on the days there was no class seeking for help from teachers. Students would come in, to seek help but the teacher would be busy in her office while we wore in the classroom. This is what really upset me the most they encourage us to buddy up and seek help from students, but then I hear the students that are passing I was told by Angela not to help you cause you might get me behind. The day before the final there were 4 of us not passing, but out of the 4 one was white. Angela came in the room noticed that we were all studying and decided to pull the person out to tell her is not a good idea for us to study she was better off at home. I have never felt more discriminated in my entire life. Whoever is interested in this program I would ask how many people start and how many graduates? Because I don't understand how 10 students start in the program and 2 end up graduating. And if you pass let's see 4 classes but you fail the 5th can you continue or would you start all over? This is what happened too one student she was dismissed and she would have to start all over again which is ridicules they should give a second chance. Meaning: YOU would have to reapply for next semester 2) take the same classes 3) another 1600 to 1800 dollars a class in tuition fees 4) delaying graduation process. But let me informed you I was warned before I even started the program the director is a racist, has favoritism etc. but I ignored everyone because I didn't think this would happen to me. I know most of the students did take other students advice and changed programs like radiology program or OTA. I know I might be the first negative post you see because the other students are either scare, want to come back to the program or are taking a different program and don't want any conflict with the director since we all share the same building. read more

I am a radiology technology student of Parker university, and so far I found out this school is a scamp. The classes are very intensive and you finish one semester course in less than one month. During this time you even doesn't get chance to finish half of the book. We are 20 students in class we just have one old fashioned radiology equipment that doesn't work properly too. This month is my clinical and they even doesn't have enough site to send us finally at last second I find out my site is an icare clinic not a hospitals , also mostly this kinds of clinic sometimes doesn't have one X-ray during a day too. When I complain the director told me try to review your book and ask the employees to be your patient,( it is the most ridiculous answer I ever heard) imagine how you're going to learn and later pass the registry and find job. Student mostly cannot pass registration because they don't have enough time to comprehend subject. Also this school is not a JRSERT accrediated and most hospital not going to hire you after. Basically this school is a scamp and you just waste your money here. read more

They are the only accredited massage therapy school in Texas! They care about your knowledge & how you need to use it in life! I'm going one step further & getting my Associates Degree!
