To make a very long story short, I called Hickman Sanitation about an hour before I had to go to work after discovering the sewer vent issue and not knowing where to turn to fix it! Chris Simmler and his crew arrived at the promised time, quickly assessed and diagnosed the problem and fixed it! I was very very relieved!! I was aware of this company as it is a customer where I work and so I immediately called it first. But I had never called upon them before this. I am very glad I did call them! Chris was friendly, reassuring and professional. He also understood my tight budget and offered a suggestion as to how I could pay for Hickman's service over time. I really appreciated that as well! Had a very bad experience with Hickman and would never recommend this company…read more Hickman pumped my septic in Aug and then I had a septic issue (clog) in Oct. They came in October, claimed I needed it pumped again (2 months after just having it pumped and we only have a few household occupants). So, he proceeded to pump it again, snake the line, and claimed to have fixed the problem. They sent me a bill for $375 for about an hour of work. I called them multiple times post that appointment - stating it wasn't fully fixed and the pipes were still gurgling. They refused to come back out to take a look and claimed I needed an entire new drainage field ($10-30k) without doing anything to diagnose the issue. Once again, the septic completely stopped working again 2.5 weeks after Hickman was there. I called them, they refused to come out b/c they wanted me to purchase a drainage field from them and not actually diagnose and solve the problem for me. The lady was rude on the phone and the workers refused to assist. They were not interested in hearing about the history of the septic or previous issues I've had. I called On-Site Management, who had worked here prior - they immediately came out, fixed the issue, and said I absolutely DO NOT need a new drainage field. It is an issue with one pipe I can replace, b/c my pipes are case iron. They will actually diagnose with a camera and solve the problem, not guess like Hickman.
