This was after I made a first call the same day to another well-known junk hauler. I have used both companies in the past. Both did a nice job for me. This time around I was in a hurry because I'd gotten some water in my basement after several days of strong thunderstorms. Nothing got damaged or wet in my unfinished basement as I keep everything in my basement either in plastic bins or on shelving units. But, it's a total pain in the [blank] to wet-vac the large floor as I've had two back surgeries in the past 3 years. And, timing was also important! I was having a basement water-proofing company come in Friday (today) to install a French Drain (a BIG job) so getting rid of all the extra basement "STUFF" I could toss before THEY arrived was very tight timing! JDogg gave me a very competitive quote, at least $150 less per volume (1/4 truck, 1/2 truck, etc.) then that of its well-known competitor! I have been there when there are lines and it seems to me it is because the place can get busy. I would imagine that they could not afford to maintain a business at that location with the price of land and property taxes in WC without doing a decent amount of business. This brings me to my next point: Who is surprised that you can find cheaper services out in Honeybrook? It's because the cost of operating a business is cheaper in Honeybrook. That's like saying you didn't like the steak at Del Frisco's in Center City because the steak at some dive in nowheresville Chesco is cheaper. Duh. But what about the 45 minute trip up and 45 minute trip back? Does the price of gas and your time not factor into the equation at all? I don't know if Daniel is a business owner or homeowner, but business owners don't just see using a local spot like this as a merely a convenience. It's just smart business when one factors in time, gas and labor. As far as dealing with the folks there, I have never had a negative experience.
