This was the second night of the Minecraft movie, a nearly sold out showing of mostly kids and teens and nobody was there to monitor at all right before the movie started. This same lady proceeded to try to steal several other guest's seats so it wasn't just me having my experience soured. When I wrote the theater a detailed account of my experience after they said the manager would get in touch with me they just sent a generic apology letter essentially ignoring me and the entire situation. I don't recommend this place whatsoever and I certainly won't be returning.

These seats had adjustable head rests, wider arm rests, and seat warmers. There were dividers to the sides of the seat for added privacy, a coat hanger, and a little spot for storing bags. I thoroughly enjoyed these seats and would happily get the upgrades again in the future. I had no complaints about the picture or sound quality of the movie and the theater was at a good temperature.

Not on one visit, but every visit. It is shameful, embarrassing, a rip-off, a punch in the face to all that pay to go there, and a crime against the movie industry. If there was any other theatre in the Comox Valley I would not visit here at all, sadly there is not. I urge people to write to guestservices@cineplex.com and ask them to come to the Comox Valley and build a decent theatre. Service: What? The 12 year old kids that work here don't know the about the offers, don't know how to be polite, serve efficiently, look you in the eye, assert any kind of customer service, or generally look presentable. They don't know what showings are 3D or not, and don't always tell you, or hand out glasses even. Price: If this cinema was $2 a ticket, it would be a rip off. So when they charge so much for tickets, and snacks, it's a real slap in the face. Screen: A bed sheet and a projector from Best Buy would look better. The main screen has a hole in it that has not been patched or replaced! C'mon. Sound: Has it's ups and downs, literally. It's as though they gave the volume control to senior couple with different hearing aid settings. Seats: Take a boulder with you - it would be more comfy than whatever you sit on in there. Cleanliness: Kids aren't that clean, so makes sense the cinema isn't. Experience: There isn't one. Every time we go here we vow not to again. But it's the only place in town! Argh. That's why people go there, not because they enjoy the experience of Landmark Cinemas. If other businesses were this bad, in all aspects of their service, they would be out of business. Unfortunetly these clowns are the only business in a large area, and they know it, and just don't care. Going to the movies should be an experience. It should be a joyous night out. It should be a fun event, a great date, a great kids day out, an event, something to talk about for days after. Landmark Cinema is incapable of providing what people deserve for their money, how Hollywood artists deserve their work to be seen, and what can help prevent piracy and ensure that the medium continues for generations. It was hot but luckily we brought a hat. Very relaxing garden. Came here on vacation and took the ferry from Vancouver. Ate snacks on the boat as well as at the gardens. Pro Tip-make a reservation and buy tickets for the ferry and gardens at the same time. We made the mistake of showing up to the ferry and it being sold out. So we had to pivot our trip. We booked tickets for the ferry and Gardens for the following day and it worked perfectly.

Further walk to the right outside of the sunken garden is the rose and dahlia garden. The dahlia is something else! I've never seen so many in quantity and so many variety in one place! Just gorgeous and they're huge! I tried to take photos with my hands for comparison. A little walk further is the Japanese garden and this is what I call serenity, peace, tranquility. It was so quiet except for the trickle of water and the pond. I can imagine meditating in the Japanese garden. At the end we walked through the English garden and stop at the eatery for their huge bowl of chili and a hot dog and refreshment. They do offer complimentary water fyi so bring your water decanter if you have it. I bought a Coke Zero instead Near the exit I stopped by their window garden which is like a greenhouse packed full of flowers. My only disappointment was that I was expecting to see a greenhouse of exotic, tropical flowers and plants. They have an abundance of flowers and plants but they were all common variety. Roses, dahlia, vinca, marigold etc... I was hoping to see tropical orchids, hibiscus, tropical bird of paradise, torch ginger, monstera deliciosa, passion fruit flowers etc... I was also hoping they have a fruit orchard but the only fruit tree I saw was apple tree.

From the rugged coastline up to the…read moremountains, we passed by breathtaking visuals of the Pacific Ocean, alpine lakes, coastal mountain ranges, and temperate rainforests.  For those who are more adventurous or looking for better views, venture off the highway to fully immerse yourself in nature! There's tons of stops along the way to explore - in fact, so many that this road trip can easily span across 3+ days! I was shocked by the immaculate stretches of roads. I mean well maintained, smooth, and clean - A complete 180° of the usual freeway conditions in California. Our day trip consisted of: 1. Whytecliff Park: A remote beach with a rocky path towards an island. Has pristine water & views of Howe Sound. 2. Porteau Cove Provincial Park: Has a gorgeous backdrop of the Howe Sound and lush mountains. Great for scuba divers thanks to the ship wreck, sunken statues, artificial reefs, and diverse marine life. 3. Murrin Provincial Park: A rock climber's paradise. 4. Shannon Falls: 0.7 mile loop trail with the third tallest fall in British Columbia. 5. Squamish: Halfway point. Snacked at A&W. 6. Brandywine Falls: Has an easy-to-reach cascading waterfall. Volcanic rock formations along the trail. 7. Whistler: A popular ski resort town surrounded by snow capped mountains. The Sea to Sky Highway road trip was my favorite activity when I visited British Columbia - Highly recommend making at least a day trip! The experience is 1000% worthwhile :)

Federico took us to several beautiful spots around the bay, including one where we spotted seals lounging and even a bald eagle perched nearby. Later, we were lucky enough to see a sea lion surface right beside us - such a cool moment! We happened to be the only two on the tour, which made the experience feel even more special. Federico was a fantastic guide - knowledgeable, attentive, and easygoing, with a great sense of humor. He kept a comfortable pace throughout and made sure we felt warm, safe, and supported the entire time. Peaceful water (well, we were lucky for that!), incredible wildlife, and a guide who really cares - what more could you ask for? The boats we were in were high quality and the shop is top tier. The people who work at this organization are extremely skilled kayakers who are dedicated to helping the kayak community. The shop has kayak skills courses as well and is dedicated to promoting excellent kayaking. If you're considering a kayak tour in the area or upping your kayak skills, I can't recommend Ocean River Sports enough.

We ended up doing a two hour rental with a tandem kayak from Ocean River Adventures. Getting there was a short ten minute walk from our hotel. The entire rental process was very quick and easy and their rental equipment is very good. It was a good value for the equipment and time we got to use the kayak. The kayak tracked beautifully in the water and we had a wonderful time cruising around the harbor for a couple hours. We even had a seal that popped its head out of the water about 20 feet in front of us! Lee (I believe he is the owner) and Wesley were a delight to deal with. I would highly recommend this company.

I wasn't able to enter as you need a guided tour, although there was enough to do by wandering the grounds. If you're lucky, you might see some peafowl foraging in the grass for delicious food. They're quite skittish. Don't feed them though! Be sure to explore the nearby gardens. There's an Italian garden, Japanese garden, and a rose garden. The Japanese garden in particular is a great place to sit and enjoy the stillness of the area - the pond reflects the sky and the surrounding vegetation and you can really take it all in. It really is an oasis. Of note, the carpark is a pay-to-park lot. There's not a lot of publicly accessible washrooms either.

Perhaps that has soured my experience with said behemoth, though only slightly, as I can now gaze upon it and smile at what could have been if only the artist were more boobily inclined. But really, it's intended to showcase the diversity of Vancouver with all its different letters and number making up a person. It's also fun to walk around in it.
