This is a tiny tea and scone house on the edge of the Shambles Market. It has a great assortment of scones, teas, and coffees. You can choose to purchase some scones on the go or eat in. The tiny shop and kitchen are on the ground floor. To get to the seating area you have to go up some tiny steep steps. We were seated at a table for two on the second floor. Our table was overlooking the Shambles Market. It was great for sitting and people watching while enjoying some tea and scones.
The hubby and I both chose to "Go Traditional." He chose the plain scone and I chose the fruit scone (just like the plain but with raisins.) It was served with local homemade strawberry jam and clotted cream. We opted for the pot of Yorkshire tea. It was all delicious.
The staff was lovely. The price was very reasonable (all the above plus two sparkling waters was 19 pounds.) If you can do the stairs I would definitely eat in. Although it is tiny, it is right in the middle of all the action. It gives you a chance to rest and enjoy some delicious scones and a spot of tea in a charming, unique setting. read more
