My issue is not with how he presents himself. My issue is with the actual value and results I received. I hired this firm to help me through an extremely high-conflict divorce and custody case. Instead of receiving the kind of assertive, effective advocacy I believed I was paying for, I watched the case worsen while the bills escalated. During that representation, I lost all custody and parental rights to my children. When things became more serious, I was told that expanding the representation to include Nazanine Ghazi would strengthen the case and improve the outcome. Instead, it expanded the cost. I kept having to provide new credit cards as each one got maxed out. After the third card, I could no longer afford representation, and I was left to keep fighting on my own. Between Hayat Family Law and related counsel, I paid well over $100,000 in legal fees. In return, I was left in a worse legal position, buried in debt, and carrying the lasting damage of a case that, in my view, was not handled with the level of strategy, force, or effectiveness that was promised. This case involved numerous serious allegations against me. Important allegations were investigated and found unsubstantiated, yet I was still left to defend myself largely alone after spending an extraordinary amount on attorneys who did not, in my experience, deliver meaningful results. Things are going much better now, thank God, but I believe that says everything. I got better results after the money was gone and I had to represent myself than I did while paying this firm and associated counsel over $100,000. This is my personal experience. Based on that experience, I would never hire this firm again, and I would strongly caution anyone considering them to look past the polish, ask hard questions, and think very carefully before trusting them with a high-conflict family law case.

As for the people who left bad reviews because they didn't get a response from back from him when they inquired: I don't think that's very fair. They should have checked his website for important, current information on his availability first before judging him. When I first looked for lawyers on Yelp, I saw the good reviews on him, and I went to his website. I appreciated that at that time on his website it stated clearly that he was full with current cases, and not accepting new ones. This means he's busy because he is excellent, not that he's too snobby to take your case or looking to make as much money as he can. If I had just looked up his phone number texted/called him at that time, I might not have been called back either. Instead I checked back every few weeks until I saw that his availability was open (the "not accepting new clients" notice was gone) and I promptly contacted him and became a happy client.
