I agreed to do so because he stated that he would help me find an attorney that would take my case. He said he would get back with me but thus far I still haven't heard back from him or his office For the first time I was dubbed, that is to say coerced and hustled over a "star rating". Stay away from Stone & Sallus. I cannot express how disappointed I was with my experience with Jason Stone. Despite being his client, he yelled at me and belittled me multiple times. He could not keep the details of my case straight and would constantly forget important details. He would frequently not show up for scheduled calls that he requested in the first place. His team sent a zoom invite with no phone number, only a digital meeting link which nobody attended. I then got multiple emails from him claiming I did not join the call and was man-splained that I need to call the phone number that was never provided to me in the first place. He constantly could not keep his word to commitments he said he would do and overpromised and underdelivered. I would ask for an emailed summary and would get a "yeah yeah" that he would send and would never actually get any emails. He almost never sent any actual email communication and would pass it off to his team members who also did not know the full details of the case or context of the phone calls we would have. I ultimately switched to a different lawyer who was a much better fit who communicated regularly, clearly and professionally. read more

I very briefly described the type of issue- we're talking a one word description, and the receptionist informed me what type of attorney I would likely need to speak with and that she couldn't get my phone consultation scheduled with him until the end of the week (I called in on a Monday). She also advised that it would be over $600/hour for an initial consultation. That is quite pricey to just get a feel for their firm and if they are a good fit. Our experience with Stone & Sallus was frustrating and disappointing. A few years ago, my father hired them to handle his estate planning. After an initial meeting with a senior partner, the case was handed off to an assistant. When that assistant went on leave, my father passed away, and the case was returned to the senior partner. From that point on, communication became increasingly worrisome.The senior partner did not seem to understand key details of the case, and we found ourselves having to repeat the same information over and over again on multiple calls. Not only was this frustrating, but we were also billed for the time spent re-explaining details that should have already been documented. When the assistant returned, she discovered that a property transfer we had been assured was straightforward could not actually proceed as we had been told. Once again, we had to go through everything from the beginning, repeating ourselves to the assistant just as we had with the partner. And once again, we were billed for the time it took to catch them up...on a case that should have already been properly documented and managed. Resolving the issue ended up costing far more than anticipated...ultimately, we spent more on legal fees than the property was even worth. We reached out to the senior partner to share our concerns, but instead of taking responsibility, he immediately tried to shift the blame onto the assistant. We made it clear that we were upset with him. His response was dismissive. We asked for nothing...only to be heard. Years later, familiarity prompted me to give the firm another chance. I reached out to see if the partner could assist with a new case...perhaps even make amends for our previous experience. Sadly, after leaving a message with their receptionist, the partner didn't even have the decency to return the call. My 13 month lease was ending and I had decided to move out. 2 weeks before the move out, the landlord says I cannot move out unless I give a 30-day move out notice. He claimed that it is the law in California. Stone & Sallus was quick to respond to my yelp query and provided a brief consultation over the phone without any charge. They asked me questions about my lease-agreement, explained how courts usually handle these cases.
