Strangely enough there wasn't salami, but more like a smoked ham, prosciutto like meat. It tasted great, so what's in a name. Delicious heirloom tomatoes, capers, salami impersonator, cream cheese, capers, pickles and your choice of bread. I had chosen crumpets and regretted that . Not because they weren't delicious, because they were so yummy, but they were also so buttery that I couldn't get the cream cheese to stick and everything I tried to put on the crumpet just slid right off them. I got the bottomless cup of coffee and I must say, this is really good coffee and the refills kept coming also. I love the atmosphere in here and there are so many great choices on the menu. If I ever come back tot Auckland, I will definitely stop by this place again.

We eat out a lot at great restaurants, but at the moment there's nowhere else with the quality and value anywhere near that at Giusto. There are plenty of vegan, gluten free and vegetarian options while also providing a fabulous 300gm scotch fillet for a mere $30. Most mains are in the $22-$28 range. The menu has options for everyone, and changes a little each time you go so there's always old favourites and interesting new creations. The wine list is not large, but it's perfectly formed and very good value. Try the vegetarian platter as a starter for 4. It's fabulous, even for carnivores. We have tried the vegetarian, chicken, steak and fresh fish mains, and can recommend them all. The waitress we had on both visits was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in that making decisions can be tough with so many good choices. Go there and enjoy.

This can mean though there is often a cover charge, although often starting a little later in the evening so if you arrive early you can avoid this. The cocktails served in tea pots are a must. Makes for a fun way to have a drink or two or three. The decoy is great, keeps a homely touch with a quirky edge. This place certainly holds a lot of character.
