The restaurant was very quiet - we were the only people there (it was 8.45pm) although there were a few people in the bar attached. No one else had appeared when we left an hour and a half later. We had a salad to start and paella as our main meal. The salad was OK but appeared to be all the ingredients left in the kitchen thrown together with a rather anonymous dressing. The paella was very good, not too salty but packed full of flavour. The top had been grilled to give the shell fish a really good taste. There was plenty for all of us and we really enjoyed the experience. I wouldn't give any more stars because the atmosphere was so flat and the salad was not brilliant. We probably would only go again if we knew when the restaurant was busy as the whole eating out experience depends on the right atmosphere. But don't let me put you off - try it yourself when you are passing and see what you think!

The sangria (our only sangria in our whole trip to Spain because 'I'm no tourist") was great. But honestly it was the service and hospitality we received that made the biggest impression. I'm glad to have gotten it out of the way because I don't see myself eating it again for a very long time. It's not that the food was bad, but it's a lot. We shared the seafood paella and the traditional paella. I mostly had the seafood paella but I did try a few bites of the traditional one with rabbit and escargot. The seafood was fresh, and there was a healthy amount of prawns and squid. If you're not really into seafood or can't stand too much of the aroma or essence of seafood, do NOT get it because it is strong. After a while I got sick of the seafood flavor, which isn't a knock on the food, but a lesson that paella simply needs to be complemented with other foods. The traditional paella was quite good as well, and neither had rice that was too burnt (which I liked). I also didn't think the escargot and rabbit were particularly special. Again, portions were tremendous and I think we all left very, very full. Keep in mind that you need at least two people ordering paella in order to get it. It runs at about 18€ per person for any paella, which isn't on the low end, but you do get filled up since it's all rice.

They are served family style which I do particularly enjoy. It is a little expensive but the food is good and it is in a convenient location. Longer if you are in the heart of Valencia, but it is worth it for the award winning paella and seafood. You are surrounded by rice paddies and you know it is a great local spot when there are other spanish folks and the servers speak a little english. Luckily the menu is in spanish and english. Service is great, nice and laid back, enjoy your food, don't rush through it style. The white wine sangria was delicious and refreshing. We had langostine and prawns and the special paella with iberico ham. Every grain of rice was very flavorfull! If you plan to take a taxi back, they staff are kind enough to call a taxi for you, keep in mind it will take 30-40min for the taxi to get to the restaurant. Your alternative option is to take the #24 bus at the center of town back to Valencia which leaves once per hour, check apple or google maps for the time.
