After a lengthy service people usually need to go to the bathroom- especially mourners who have driven from out of town. One bathroom to use for the entire congregation was abysmal. Further, my Uncle's name was misspelled on the video tribute. Finally, the funeral director supplied little or no instruction for the procession and especially for the pallbearers who wandered around with no instruction from the funeral directors. It really just seemed very disorganized.

They made my mom look beautiful and natural. The service went almost as planned. We sent music to the church a week and a half before the service, but when our vocalist got up to sing the music person at the church said they didn't receive the music. So our vocalist sang a cappella to that song. The obituary was not read during the service - even though it was listed on the program. The person went up at the right time, but for some reason, did not read it or ask anyone else to. Additionally, we had pallbearers who were prepared to carry (or push) the casket to the hearse. They were not called or acknowledged. The exit song was not the selection we made and I'm not sure how it was selected. Other than those three hiccups, the service went well.

My very first experience meeting with this business, 2 people kept walking in and out the room and talking because apparently the fax machine was in that room. Ok. Understandable. After we got to the bottom of my issues, I left with my little burgundy folder. And a handful of questions. As of right now it's has been a month and I have called at least 3 times with questions. They say "I'm with a family I'll call you shortly " they never do. I have found myself asking relatives about the process or googling my concerns. At this point I feel like I am bothering them, or not as important for a call back. Hopefully no one asked me about this experience. I would be forced to remain silent . We all know, if you do not have anything nice to say, do not say anything at all.

On July 12, 2026 we held a service at South care for my mom who had unfortunately passed away…read more Kisha, the manager for our service, was jarringly unpleasant and the only thing that she did well was add stress to an incredibly stressful and sad time for our family. She was completely devoid of tact, frequently making rude comments and for some reason always responding with attitude and a lack of care. Interacting with someone so thoughtless and uncaring was truly a miserable experience that will never be forgotten by our family. Kisha was also responsible for playing a slideshow created by our family for my mother's memorial. Unfortunately we observed first hand that Kisha has the computer savy of someone unfamiliar with technology. Because of this , during the memorial, myself and my brother had to leave our seats and assist her as she struggled to play our video. Starting and displaying it before it was supposed to be shown and also ending the video and moving it off the screen before it was finished. Unbelievable. I take particular offense to this ineptitude because I made the slideshow and people in attendance were not able to view the beginning as she fumbled through simply trying to play it. It's shocking that someone with such an incredible lack of technical ability would be in in charge of it. Everyone else at South care was pleasant and helpful however should you incur the misfortune of having to work with Kisha then I pray for your patience and strength.

I attended a memorial…read moreservice there yesterday (Sunday, 6/28/26), and first can easily say that it is the most beautiful funeral home that I have ever seen, and I am closer to 70 than 60 years young. But not only was it beautiful and clean, with spacious, clean, and well attended bathrooms, but the staff (particularly, Mr. Avery ??) and attendants were soooo pleasant and attentive, starting from the parking lot (and a kind and pleasant attendant), guiding us to park, and extending to smiling and pleasant staff upon entering and the entire time we were in the building! It was a pleasant experience in all respects. Murray Brothers Funeral Home will definitely be a business I will recommend, and I would use if, God forbid, I have the need to.
