Part 1 I'm not a person who normally comments or posts on here but I had to make everyone aware of a situation. My husband and I had my daughter's 4TH birthday party at party jungle located on Industrial Loop. I'll start off by saying it's a fun place that is inviting and clean. My daughter was super excited to have her party there and as any child would, looked forward to it for a very long time. Unfortunately, our experience turned out to be terrible. When we arrived, I noticed it was hot but as a mom I was running around paying attention to every detail to make my daughter's party perfect for her. As guests arrived, it was very hot. Almost unbearable. Children were coming out of the tunnels and slides dripping sweat, red in the face, and complaining of the heat. Mind you at the party was our 5 -week old daughter and two very pregnant women. Our party was the first party of the day at 11:00 am. At 11:15 I asked the manager if the AC was on because I was convinced by this time it was broke, he said to me, "oh I didn't realize it's 79 degrees in here, I'll lower the temperature". We were told that it might take time to cool down even though the air condition was on. At this point I was aggravated because the temperature should have already been lowered (knowing our party was large and this was one of the hottest days of the summer) and the air conditioning should have been pumping well before we got there. This should have not been an issue. A business dealing with small children running around should be well aware of this and the health hazards that go along with it. This "oversight" posed a very dangerous situation for all of us. As this conversation with the manager transpired, it was time to sit for pizza and my daughter came up to me telling me she didn't feel good and that she wanted to go home (what child says this at their birthday party?). It's not characteristic of my daughter to complain let alone complain at her birthday party so I knew something was wrong. Her body was like jelly. I brought her to the bathroom and she was pale as a ghost. Her lips turned gray and she was passing out on the floor. As parents you can imagine how scary this was. Immediately I grabbed my friend who was a nurse to evaluate the situation. We got juice, water, and an icepack for my daughter. We put a fan directly on her and brought her into the back room to get her back to normal. I was advised by my friend to bring her into the car and blast the air condition for a little so she could feel better asap because it was too hot for her to remain at the party. My daughter missed a portion of her party because she was sitting in the car and obviously there was a huge damper placed on the duration of it. That being said, thank god our child is okay. At this point I immediately grabbed the manager and made him call the owner. I was livid and I still am. First of all, the way one of the young employees (a male) treated me during this situation was appalling. When talking to the owner on the phone I was told that there is "nothing she can do" because she has a "tin roof" and it gets hot. There's nothing you can do???????? What kind of response is that. Because of your negligence or just not wanting to pay your electric bill, my child became ill. Well I have a solution for you.....How about extra fans, portable air conditioners, pumping the ac early on so this doesn't happen......or quite frankly if you can't handle a party in the summer months because of your situation then don't conduct them! Just as you were quick to write all the extra charges on my contract prior to my party and take my money maybe you should have included that you have a "tin roof" and it may be sweltering throughout your party on that contract as well. In fact, if you know of this pre-existing condition and never remedied the situation then shame on you! This wasn't an unfortunate situation where an air conditioner broke.....this was pure negligence that caused my child and our guests to suffer. My husband and I thought about having everyone go home because the conditions were unsafe, but when the fans were actually turned on and the air condition temperature was lowered, although it was still hot, it was tolerable and the party was able to continue although everyone was dripping sweat. Not only was I upset for my child but embarrassed that my family and friends had to endure this spectacle with an employee in my face arguing with me in the middle of the party. That being said, there were two other employees that handled the situation in a kinder matter. When the owner's husband arrived, he questioned me that if my child felt faint why I didn't call an ambulance with a condescending undertone. Were you implying that I wasn't telling the truth? How dare you! I explained to him that I had my nurse friend evaluate my daughter which is something that I shouldn't have even had to explain to him. (continued with my husband Joseph A.) read more

Part 2 It should be known that my husband and I were compensated monetarily to a certain extent, but this was not because of professionalism and a business owner that was trying everything to rectify a situation. This was because we wouldn't take no for answer and we weren't leaving until we were somehow compensated. Initially, the owner said there was "nothing she could do and she was sorry" and expected it to end there. We weren't going to allow that. It wasn't until we became irate that something was done. Quite frankly the money we were compensated doesn't matter......the health and well being of our child is more important. This post was not written to bash a business but merely to shed light on a situation so that no other parent has to experience what we did. read more

We just left my son's first "kiddie party". It far exceeded any of my expectations. Lisa, Julianna and Mindy were amazing. Attentive, CLEAN, organized, friendly, experienced and helpful.
