We had a great time in the animal area checking all the critters out. There were lots of food choices too. There seemed to be something for everyone (burgers, kabobs,cheese steaks, fried shrimp etc). Plus lots of sweets like deep fried Oreos,ice cream, beignets, cheesecake on a stick. There were not a ton of rides but there was a nice variety. We will definitely check this fair out next time. Tip: if you wait till 7pm on a Saturday to get there you will be waiting in a huge line to park. When we left at 7:30 there was a huge line down the street. Plan ahead instead of complaining on Yelp that you couldn't find a place to park.

Coney Island was almost one hour ride away from Brooklyn via the subway (Q Line dropped me off…read moreright near the entrance) so I decided last minute to head out there since I've never seen it. We have the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk back home but Coney Island dwarfed it. For a Friday, the 2 amusement parks were busy with lots of kids and parent chaperones wearing the same t-shirts. I wasn't here to ride the rides but to wander and take it all in. Ticket prices varied per ride (little kids cheaper than the more thrilling ones for older kids/adults. All day wrist bands also were offered and maybe a better deal if staying a few hours or hitting the big rides. Lots of food options available in and around the parks. The most recognizable one for me was Nathan's Hot Dogs which actually served seafood, burgers and more besides their famous namesake hot dogs. The wooden boardwalk was in good condition and wide. It extended all the way down to the aquarium and Brighton Beach.. lots of benches to sit or sun yourself. Bathrooms were located near the beach but interestingly elevated above. Nice design from the outside but a little cleaner than your typical public bathrooms since there were staff busy cleaning when I popped in. The beaches wasn't as busy as the park and even less people were in the water. Overall fairly clean that day. Lifeguards were on duty, FDNY zipped by in a unique ATV style ambulance and later a patrol showing a good attention to safety and quick response. I'm glad I was able to finally see Coney Island in person. It should have enough options to entertain, thrill or just let you relax.

We enjoyed some hot dogs and fries at Olde Heidelberg, onion rings, wings and fried Raviolis at another stand and Puerto Rican food at Mambo's Nando's. They have rides for all ages. There are a lot more for the younger crowd than other parks around the area. The go karts and batting cages are a nice addition. There's a parking lot right behind and next to the park, so no searching for parking. There's a waterpark across the street, Runaway Rapids. We can't wait until the summer to go. It's so much fun. They have some great slides and features.

People giving this place more than 2 stars have never been to a mini golf course with any variety…read morewhatsoever. I don't mean to be negative but it's just green turf with a hole and maybe some brightly painted rocks and a Ton of mosquitos...No theme to the mini golf course, no holes that had any sort of obstacles other than don't let your ball fall into the Gatorade-blue water. But you don't have to care about snapping cute pics to appreciate that Fairy Tale Forest is an absolute wholesome delight for children and for adults to live their childhood nostalgia. There is a real magical forest feel as you wander through the park, which isn't large, but the life-size storybook cottages and fairy tale sets are beautifully detailed and lovingly restored. The grounds are clean and well-manicured (a sign says the gardens are curated by Raine Garden Designs). A list of daily events & activities are posted such as magic shows, live music, and character meet & greets. The staff and actors are all warm and friendly. My child loved running around and exploring, participating in the activities, but I enjoyed it just as much if not more. There are shaded picnic tables under umbrellas (next to the Bluebird Stage so you can catch a show while you eat). The food is from the on-site restaurant Fables, and is quite good, certainly better than your average amusement park fare (I was really happy to get a proper salad!). The restaurant is only open for private parties/events/rentals at the moment, but I'm told they hope to have it up and running at some point. The interior is also themed. There is a reasonably priced gift shop with a nice selection of toys, souvenirs, costumes, and gifts. I would say this park is suitable for younger kids, maybe up to 8 or even an unjaded 10yo (have your kids dress up as knights, wizards, princesses, and fairy tale characters!). It's also kind of a cool spot for a date. This is an "analog" park with some animatronics, and you shouldn't expect any dazzling razzmatazz or high-octane thrills. Six Flags it ain't. But come with the right mindset for the unique experience this is and you won't be disappointed. It's good ol' fashioned throwback family fun and brings back an era that doesn't exist anymore. Indeed, many NJ locals have fond memories of this park from when they were young. It was built in the 1950s by an industrious German dude and features scenes from Grimm's Fairytales that his mother used to read to the family, and was expanded with more set pieces over the next couple of decades. Unfortunately it closed down in 2003 and FINALLY reopened last year, after efforts were stalled during the pandemic. All I can say is goooo and visit this charming, singular, and uncorporatized attraction, and support a still founding family-owned local business. It's a complete joy!

The lady at the Cobra roller coaster decided to cut one lap from the ride when it was our turn to go... I guess she couldn't wait to get lunch. I addressed this and of course she remained quiet and gave me the look. I mean... really? You look around and all you see are young employees in a bad mood (except for the lady at the ticket booth... she was friendly) and half of the rides kept closed (or simply unattended). Also, there are no restrooms! I'd recommend to give a look inside before committing to pay anything. Do yourself a favor and visit the nearby Queens Zoo, which is a great little gem. Will not return.
