Extremely poor quality work. I had a crown as well as a bridge done by Dr. Carter and both broke. She doesn't care about the quality or care that her clients receive. I should have read further into her reviews before selecting this office. Do yourself a favor and find a different dentist. It's been a few years since I've been here, but I do not recommend this dentist. Her hygienist was very kind and knowledgeable. However, beyond her, I would avoid. I had 2 crowns down by her. The amount of blood I spit out during this process (large clots), amount of pain I experienced afterwards was unacceptable. Not to mention they literally glued gauze inside my crown that was in my mouth afterwards (could put the strands out past my lips, but was glued under). I had to have both crowns redone by a different dentist who was concerned over her work. Dr. Carter's office did pay for my new crowns at the new dentist, but that just makes me more concerned that I'm not the first one. read more

Please avoid this dentist. She is unable to spot cavities while they're small enough to be treated easily and equally incapable of doing justice to cavities when they are properly identified. Unless you ask her, she LOVES her shoddy workmanship. Best to leave your health and you money with another more competent and compassionate professional. Dr Carter found a cavity in my daughters tooth and said it was quite small schedule a filling. Brought my kiddo in and everyone was kind to her but when she came out, the tech nervously informed me that the cavity was larger than expected and that complications may arise. That's obviously not fun to hear but I hoped for the best. My daughter had a horrible recovery. Her whole jaw hurt, her ear hurt. It was awful. Then swelling and signs of infection came. I rushed her back in to Dr. Carter to get relief for her. The staff is always welcoming and kind and they still were, but Dr Carter's demeanor was defensive, which I found odd. I wasn't angry, just concerned for my child who was in lots of pain. She repeatedly said, "I like my work. It's good work." Very odd behavior toward a concerned mom and an 8 year old child. Nothing about this situation should have been about her. Her job is to improve people's health. I'm actually not interested in the quality of your craftsmanship. It is irrelevant, if the patient is experiencing significant pain! Time to show compassion, concern, and put those big brains to work on rectifying the situation so no future pain or complications arise. She prescribed an antibiotic and sent us on our way with an explanation as to why these things happen and it wasn't her fault. Again.... I never approached the situation with any anger or accusations. But her behavior raised red flags and made me very suspicious. Swelling did recede with antibiotic but my daughter periodically complained about pain. As soon as my insurance allowed it, I took her into another dentist. The very large filling in a very small baby tooth done by Dr. Carter had killed the root of her tooth. The tooth is completely dead. She is now scheduled to have it extracted. Fortunately it was a baby tooth and her adult tooth is set to come in, no spacers needed. But extractions are not fun and the only reason we are having to do this is because of the poor work done previously. I read through previous reviews and see that Dr. Carter has a history of this type of thing! I wish I had known! I'm so sad my poor kid has had to go through so much unnecessary pain. I wish this was our only negative experience! But I also was under Dr, Carter's care. I had pain that was sometimes serious and was sure I had a cavity. She assured me that I didn't and scheduled me for a cleaning a month later. She said that everything would feel better after that. When the pain didn't reside I looked in my mouth to see the tooth had a grey tint! I quickly scheduled another appointment and this time after a lot of poking around, she found a a cavity. I scheduled an appointment for a filling but canceled it.... too scared to let her at my teeth after what she had done to my daughter. read more

Be very weary of the many (unnecessary) procedures she recommends. She was very likable and personable, but is an absolute saleswoman... that's what a lot of dentists have become. She shaved too much off between my teeth for invisalign, creating 2 huge gaps at the end of the treatment and refused to fix it. She did offer, however, payment plans on a solution to fix HER mistake. Her staff then proceeded to take turns coming into my room to gawk at the horror. I left her office crying and confused. Shortly after, a root canal she did on me became completely infected and I had to go to a specialist to have it removed. I am shocked that she is still practicing as I am sure I am not the only patient with so many bad experiences with her. read more

She's the WORST dentist, I don't know how she got her degree! We moved here a year ago and needed to find a dentist, mostly for preventative dental care. On both my husband and my first visits she tried to talk us into getting braces...were both in out late 50's and braces are the furthest thing from our minds. I found out she also is certified to do this work...cha-ching! My husband recently had a tooth bothering him so she took ex rays and compared them to the ones she took 6 mo earlier and found a cavity she had missed. She filled it but 3 days later his tooth still hurt and he complained she didn't clean the filling off the side of the tooth and left the top of the tooth so sharp it cut his tongue. He went back and she told him he would need a root canal. He'd had enough and told her so, got up out of the chair and walked out. I was able to get him in to another dentist the following day and after that dentist said "why did she bother putting a filling in it, it should have had a root canal, it's too close to the nerve". He prescribed antibiotics because now it was inflamed, which caused the pain. I would not recommend her. We have had wonderful Dentists in the past, so we know what quality dental care should be and she does not come close. read more

Love this dental practice! Monique, the hygienist, is so sweet and very gentle. Both Monique and Dr. Carter make a caring and compassionate team. I love Dr. Carter's expertise and how thorough she is when answering my questions. Dr. Carter takes the time to help and explain things. Monique is a great hygienist (I am one, so I would know). Dr Carter and staff are excellent and I can't recommend them highly enough. They care about you as,a whole person. And making money is probably the least important thing to them. They usually offer a free dental day once per year. Dr Carter seems to be a preferred provider for all insurances which is helpful. All the staff is mind and friendly. The dental assistants are very skilled and gentle as is the htgentist.Dr. Carter is very gentle too. I've almost gone to sleep during a procedure and have during a cleaning. Dr. Carter must be one of the most caring people around and hires staff that reflect that value. They always fit you in. I'm very grateful to have found this office. I am terrified of dental visits and always have a great deal of anxiety, but I was quickly put at ease by the staff and especially by Dr. Carter herself, who was quite personable. STAY AWAY!! She ruined my teeth by shaving them and I will forever suffer the consequences of her actions. I got Invisaligns and payed her $5000.00 only to not get my teeth permanently ruined. One of my crowns broke, she shaved my teeth and created spaces, and she never completed the Invisaligns process by claiming that my teeth are now "good enough". I went to Dr. Shof and he was appalled by the work she did. I now am in braces and fixing my teeth through a real professional that is working to fix the damage she has done. btw, she is very manipulative and will suck you in through her charm, but stay away! go see Dr. Nelson or any other reputable dentist in town that actually know anything about teeth. read more
