I've been going to this Dental office for a couple years now and they have exceeded my expectations! Doctor Heinzen is an excellent Dentist, by far the best I've ever seen. He is extremely patient and takes the time to answer any and every question I have clearly and thoroughly. He does not move forward with anything if I don't feel comfortable and have a clear understanding of our plan and our path forward. Kim, who is a Registered Dental Assistant - Extended Function, is just absolutely amazing! She has a degree in doing fillings, cosmetic dentistry, among other things. They are Blessed to have her. As a new patient, I immediately felt welcome to the group even before I made my first appointment. The initial appointment setup process went very smooth with the office staff being very friendly and great with communications. On the day of my first appointment I was greeted by the helpful staff in person, and only waited a short time before my smiling hygienist whisked me into the exam room. The cleaning was thorough and done with a true compassion for my old set of teeth. Then to top things off Dr. Pascarella spent some quality time discussing my dental history and concerns. I really wanted to like this place. The staff were charming on our first interaction, enough so that I let them organize $10k worth of procedures and sign up for their weird vip program after an hour of being there. Aside from a handful of asepsis errors in the procedure areas, the place seemed fairly decent compared to other places in town. Everything following my first trip has been an absolute train wreck. My first appointment was cancelled and rescheduled without any notice, requiring the entire staff at my job to have to rearrange their entire week at the last minute. Fearing some future mix ups, I made sure to communicate with their staff multiple times before my rescheduled appointment to confirm which procedures I would be getting the day of my appointment. I showed up today to find out that within an hour of me calling, they had completely changed the procedure I had been scheduled to receive. As much as I would have loved to see if their work was actually up par with their reviews, I can't trust someone to perform oral surgery on me if I can't even trust their front desk staff to be honest, consistent, or able to properly wear a mask during a pandemic. If there's any lesson I learned here that I would love to pass on to potential customers; don't trust anyone who's entire business model revolves around a VIP program. These guys just want to lock you in. Once they have you committed to a year worth of services, they don't care about you anymore. read more

Great dental group that is in the practice of top rate maintenance of good dental health in order to prevent issue, but when more is required, they are on top of it. Recently Dr. Pascarella diagnosed a crown replacement was needed, which procedure was managed so well that the new crown fit perfectly first try. About a month ago, I thought I had cracked my tooth and made an appointment with Pascarella. I didn't have a dentist in network for my insurance, but saw that they were covered with my insurance and had a lot of great reviews. I went in to have him look at my tooth in question. The girl took a couple of X-rays of that tooth, and said she couldn't see anything on the X-rays so it must not have been that bad. She also told me she didn't see a crack when looking at it. Pascarella came in and spent no more than 30seconds looking at the tooth and told his assistant, "let's get her on the books soon and regularly." He told me I needed to come back in as soon as possible to have that tooth worked on, because he was leaning towards it needing a root canal and crown and had the lady up front give me a quote. I was very surprised, since the tooth wasn't causing me pain, it does have a filling and was mildly sensitive. The incident that made me question the tooth's integrity only happed about two weeks prior, and I also knew it wasn't infected so I was baffled why he would lean towards me needing a root canal. When I got up to the front desk, the lady gave me a print out of what my bill would be (including insurance) for that tooth. I was shocked to see it was going to cost well over what I was expecting, or even what I have paid somewhere else previously WITHOUT insurance for a root canal on another tooth. She told me she could get me in the next morning at 7am and made a comment that rubbed me the wrong way. She said that if I didn't want that appointment, plenty of other people are in need of it and wanting that appointment so I needed to make that decision asap. She was pretty abrupt, as if I should be grateful they could get me in so soon and not hesitate to take it. She mentioned that if I waited also, my tooth could get worse and cause more issues. I took the appointment and left their office. I felt physically ill through the entire appointment and afterwards. I've been to plenty of dentists and have never left feeling that way, ever. Something did not set right with me. I got a phone call later that afternoon from the lady in the office asking me if I still wanted that appointment for the next morning and if I didn't, another appointment would be pretty far out and again the tooth could get worse if I waited. I felt so pressured and still it didn't set right with me. I ended up going with my gut and told her no, I wasn't going to take the appointment. Fast forward to this week, I ended up paying out of pocket to see my family dentist (he didn't take my insurance). I wanted his full undisclosed opinion. He did a full set of X-rays and a full exam spending a good amount of time looking at my tooth and seeing what my needs really are. He came to the conclusion that my tooth had some small fractures, but there was nothing of concern currently. He said, "That tooth does not need a root canal, so I don't know where he got that idea from at all. Your teeth are all perfectly healthy!" Following my gut and getting a second opinion by someone I trust saved me a ton of money and pain! I spoke to a couple of friends about my situation, and they told me they had similar experiences with his office and they're surprised that there aren't more reviews concerning this. If something doesn't feel right, get a second opinion. read more

These two guys bought out Dr. Mark Doyle (who had been our family dentist for years) when Dr. Doyle decided to split for Montana and raise a crop of dental floss for a living, or whatever he's doing up there. "Movin' to Montana soon -- gonna be a dental floss tycoon" -- "Montana," Frank Zappa Of the two newbies, I've only experienced Dr. Pascarella. Everything that Doyle was, Pascarella is not. Even if Doyle's interests in my comfort, my recent travels, my business, and my family were all affectations (he never said goodbye :::sniffs:::), he never failed to impress me with the near-perfect attention to customer service. Once he started in on my procedure, Pascarella never spoke to me -- never asked me how I was doing. When he was done, he stood up, said a few words to the dental assistant, and walked out of the room -- like I wasn't even there. I felt like an insurance policy with teeth, sitting in a dental chair, and our dentist-patient relationship was all about how many procedures Pascarella could milk under the coverage I had remaining for the year. The two stars are for the staff, many of whom are Doyle's old crew and are top-notch. They're the only reason I'd consider staying with this cold fish, but it's just not enough. read more

Got in same day for a broken molar. They were able to do the crown prep and put on a temporary crown during my first visit. Very professional and friendly from the front desk, to the attendant, to the dentist. Explained each step of the procedure so I knew exactly what was happening. I've had 4 or so other crowns over the years, and this was the best temporary crown yet. Due to travel, I had to delay getting back in for the permanent crown, but because the temporary was so good, it wasn't an issue. The out of pocket cost (no dental insurance) was steep, but was inline with what others charge for a porcelain/ceramic crown. Dental work is never fun, but if you have to get it, it's nice to have friendly and professional service. read more

I love the new facility on Sonoma St in West Redding. I appreciate how clean it looks. The staff is super amazing and always smiling. My 4 yr old kid walks in to their office and says, "oh, I remember this place, it's cool." Of course he's referring to their treasure box filled with goodies for him to choose from after his cleaning. They're do good with kids. I highly recommend them. read more

I have only one thing to add; Where Doyle was gentle and precise, Pascarella is rough and seems to have no clue nor interest in whether he is hurting you or not. Be wary if they say they accept your insurance. They said they took my insurance and they did BUT my insurance only covered apx 10%. I ended up with a $1000+ out of pocket bill. Make sure to see if they are "IN NETWORK" with your insurance company. Maybe it's my fault and i should've know better. I feel like they should've at least told me they accept my insurance but only 10% would be covered but that's not what happened read more

I needed to get into the dentist ASAP because I was in a lot of pain. I called many different dentists and they all were booked out a month. I called Moore & Pascarella and the receptionist was the nicest lady and told me she could squeeze me in at that very moment. Walking in, everyone was very friendly. The dentist and the whole staff were very detailed and went through everything with me. They made me feel comfortable during the whole visit and helped me get my next appointment within a week even though they were very booked due to the holidays. I would highly recommend going here! I have always had a rough time at the dentist. I would always wait until the pain was unbearable and finally made the appointment. However, with age, I have finally realized the dentist should be a very important part of my busy life. After 5 years of not going I made the decision to take the chance on a dentist hoping for a better experience. I was on my insurance website and found Moore & Pascarella. I did a little research on them and a couple others. Deciding on Moore & Pascarella. I had my first visit on September 1st 2015. I cannot explain the level of ease they gave me. Before I finished signing in I wanted to walk out simply because I heard the sound of cleaning tools. But I stayed. From the moment I walked in the door the receptionist, assistants and Mr. Pascarella himself made me realize every dentist is not the same. He carefully walked me through my x-rays and photos of my teeth and the work I needed done. He never once made me feel embarrassed, uncomfortable or rushed. He literally sat there with me for 20 minutes to explain and answer my questions. My cleaning was very thorough and informative and I appreciate every last one of them for their generosity and overall great visit. Can't wait to get started on the new smile I will carry. I'd prolly enjoy playing golf with both of these guys, but I can't imagine a scenario when I'd let them work on my teeth again. When I was talking with both dentists I found them personable and good guys. I will also say they have top notch equipment and I liked the support staff, but that is pretty much where my appreciation ended. They did an exam and found $6,500 in work to do. I was surprised, but I trusted what they told me. I agreed to do some of the work, but it didn't go well. After the work was done, they told me everything would be fine in a couple days. It was not fine. It was my worst dental experience in nearly 50 years. I went back 5-6 times over the next few months and they could not fix the problem. Then they wanted to do root canals for another $1,500 because they couldn't solve their own problem. I was so frustrated with the constant pain and problems. I went to 2 other dentist offices for 2nd opinions and they both politely said most of the work Moore and Pascarella prescribed wasn't even necessary. I liked M&P, but I did not like what they promised was not what they delivered. I'm sure many people would do well visiting M&P, but my experience was deeply frustrating, expensive and painful. I should also note that this mess happened well over a year ago. I've waited to give my opinion here until I could confirm these problems could be satisfactorily solved elsewhere. Using another dentist, my problem has been solved in much less invasive, less painful and less expensive ways. read more
