I came to this school because a friend recommended it to me for their cdl driving school. I can honestly say it was the best decision I ever made I graduated in 4 weeks. The instructors changed my life forever Brent,Glen and Jose were the most patient people I ever met. They encouraged and guided me through every step of getting my cdl. As a returning student: From the Time that I sent my transcripts over, to getting enrolled, to going to class, and obtaining financial aid has all Been a hassle from start to finish. I am a student who has disabilities and it seems like after I've made my disability known, things only got worse. I hurt my back with a herniated disk, however when I let my accessibility officer know, back on the 24th of June, I have yet to hear back from her. Then, when I went to class still injured, the professor was completely unaccommodating. She made it a point to help everyone but me in the classroom, and I raised my hand on 3 different occasions and even called out to her and she acted like she couldn't see nor hear me. Then, after I figured out the assignment on my own, there was only 15 minutes left of class, I told her I finished all the assignments for the entire week, and I was already frazzled from having to figure it out on my own, and I asked her since I was done if I could leave, she said no and to sit down that if I left, then everyone would want to leave, too.I have accommodations stating I can leave to have a 10-15 minute break which I did not take I worked through the breaks to get my assignments done especially after she ignored me, she still wouldn't let me leave. So I literally had to sit there for 15 minutes staring at the wall.With all of this happening with this college, I tried to log in and just like jumping through hoops to get in to this college, now they're making me jump through more hoops to drop my fall classes. This whole experience has done nothing but make my autism and my back injury worse. And they wonder why I left the first time around... They're FLDOE's problem now. read more

I went here like two months ago, and I attempted to register for classes and the lady I spoke to was very unkind and she tried to get me to pay for a fee saying that I received an email that I should already know. How am I not reading my emails etc. I explained to her that I didn't see anything like that in my emails but I also haven't been to school in three years so I wasn't sure what she was talking about and then she repeated don't you read your emails because it's in there you'll know and I told her could I have somebody else assist me and she said everybody's gone there's nobody who can help me and I said it's OK. I'll take a phone number and I'll call somebody else to help me and she gave me a phone number. when I went to finance upstairs directly upstairs, the lady that I spoke to as well wasn't very kind and I think I was pretty fed up from the lady before, so I spoke to her kindly the first time I introduced myself and she wasn't very kind so then I had an attitude and then she fixed hers and we went back to communicating kindly instead. I think the school has been mostly unkind every time I go they seem very upset and depressed. I've just never had a good experience so hopefully this is just going to get the attention of somebody who is able to change this. read more

Very accommodating, plenty of classes and friendly staff. Port Richey location is a nice quiet campus.

While attending PHSC I enrolled in classes at every campus with the exception of Brooksville and can tell you although their not perfect PHSC is a great school. PHSC offers small on campus classes, online and hybrid format courses. Instructors learn your name because you're not a face in an auditorium of 200 people. Each PHSC campus is comparable to most high schools with each class not surpassing 30 students. Most importantly PHSC is an accredited state college so you can transfer your credits elsewhere if need be. I earned a Bachelors and Associates Degree from Pasco Hernando State College. I completed a workforce training program, joined two honor societies and earned several scholarships while attending PHSC. I graduated PHSC with very little student loan debt. If I had attended USF or another large university I would certainly still be paying for my education. When visiting other institutions for information on graduate degrees, I was shocked to learn how many other students paid a ton of money for their four year degrees. One academic advisor told me he was jealous at how little debt I had since the same university he wanted me to attend charged him 40k. One tip I'd reccomend to new or existing students is to sign up for the PHSC foundation scholarship program. They award scholarships to nearly every student who applies. In exchange students are requird to help out at an event or promote their programs once or twice a year but would get anywhere from $500-1200 off tuition each semester. Don't attend a private school where your credits won't transfer and don't over pay for the same education at a university consider attending PHSC. read more

I constantly tried to get assistance to go back to school here. I was appalled at how much has changed with this college over the years since my first time going here in 2012. I have attended Park University, Barstow community, and FTCC in Fayetteville. It is not my first rodeo, the unprofessionalism here is astronomical! Never getting calls back or communication. Good tuition is about all they have to offer. I would not recommend going to this campus. After 6 months of calling the veteran center asking for help, assistance, and an advisor I was never given any. Do yourself a favor when looking for a college.... If you ask for an advisor and they don't give you one asap to ADVISE you through the process and your classes... HENCE the title... RUN. read more

I am currently a student on the West campus in New Port Richey and the campus is BEAUTIFUL. The professors are wonderful and the staff has been helpful with the minor issues I've had over the last few months. I definitely recommend this college if you're thinking about staying close to home. read more

I had no issues while attending as a regular student. However, the nursing program at New Port Richey and Welsey Chapel is a SHIT SHOW. They don't communicate properly and are constantly sharing the wrong information. The deans are constantly shifting blame to the students Leading to extra money being paid and time being wasted. I graduate in May and I'm so thankful to DONE with this school. I would never return. read more

Beautiful campus. Classes are very affordable and there are many great teachers here. Instructors for the hygiene program are psychopaths though, and will gladly make your life hell. Totally not worth it because hygiene in the real world is quite easy minus the corporate world. Class of 14, making good money now but wouldn't go through this program again even if I had a gun to my head. Giving 5 stars to the school. 0 stars to the dental hygiene program. Not a bad place to get your educational start. Not sure how much has changed as its been about 17 or 18 years since I was there. My experience: Administration - decent Course counseling - fair/mediocre Teachers - 50/50 (some great, some horrible) I guess like many a school, it ran the gambit and it depended on many things. Overall, the school was run well. I got involved with student government (was SGA pres. my 2nd year) and saw even more detailed how the administration was and it was pretty good. Teachers - A teacher I had my first term is probably still the best teacher I ever had in college. A teacher I had for 3 classes my 2nd and 3rd terms was one of the worst. It was hit and miss, but that's probably true of any school. I was a bit disappointed at the "quality" of some teachers. I know its only a junior college, but I expect all teachers to have a minimum of a Master's degree, or if they only have a bachelor's degree, they better have some years of experience under their belt. However, I had a number of teachers that had only bachelor's degrees and a few that were not long out of college themselves, I think. One prof I had for Calculus only did that as a second job....his main job was nigh manager of a Dominos Pizza. read more

I gotta give this place five stars as, yes I am alumni and have had better experiences attending here versus another local Community college (not to name names..HCC). West campus is wonderfully laid out and the environment is peaceful as they preserve nature through the property. I love how staff is nice, you do not need to fight for parking and financial aid is not an 8 hour wait (yes was that long at other financial institutions). Coming back to visit for my sister's nursing pinning, I saw some new surrounding building, but the campus was still the same and I loved that! So worth attending college here, especially since now it's a "state" college now! read more
