The staff was most helpful as I checked in and they called my g-daughter's class room to send her to the office for pickup. I also noticed how the school has a community/town feel to it. However, my concern lies with Mrs. Zee, the Co-owner/Director. I have a couple of major issues. She seems friendly enough at first, but as time goes on you begin to notice passive aggressive undertones in her communication. So much so, that the parents are made to feel as though they're doing an inadequate job parenting their kid. She tends to compare children all the time, and offers unsolicited advice. For example, our son has trouble staying attentive (he's a just-turned-4 year old boy!). He is extremely hyperactive, and definitely a little daredevil. Honestly, what pre-school boy isn't? She tells me to get my son evaluated because he's a lot worse than most of their kids there. She'll say it in a way that makes it seem like she's just being caring, but in reality, it's very condescending. Another example - if my child has the sniffles or allergies one day, she somehow makes it into a massive ordeal as if I should get it checked out because it could be RSV which is DEADLY (and she was sure to mention the fact that it's deadly). Very tactless and unnecessary. Literally, every mild complaint my child has is blown completely out of proportion. In my view, as childcare professionals, they should know what is and is not serious enough to call a parent to pick up their kid. We have JOBS that we cannot just up and leave at the drop of a dime. A courtesy call is one thing, but that's not the case here. Inevitably, every time I pick up my son because of one of these ridiculous symptoms (insect bite, gas), he is always happy and totally fine once I get him home. Don't get me wrong, obviously if he's showing serious symptoms of course I have no problem picking him up! I wouldn't want to keep him there if he's contagious or feeling seriously ill. However, her ability to make appropriate judgement calls are lacking. Aside from that, good luck trying to have a reasonable adult conversation with her about your concerns. She's ALWAYS right and will talk over you. She's extremely rude if you actually challenge her. If you're looking for childcare right now, look elsewhere. The lower cost is not worth the extra drama of dealing with her.

I looked around a lot for different schools. I liked that they called themselves an inclusive chrstian school. I meant with Dr Tubbs who I found to be a caring wonderful lady and I broke down in her office describing all the painful things I and my daughter went through with the other school and she told me about her vision for a school that loves all and teaches all. I am so impressed with Grace Education Academy and all they've done for my daughter in the short time they've had her. She got promoted to fifth this year which was something I wasn't sure was going to happen after what the other teachers at the other school were telling me. My original…read morereason for finding a child center was to get my son acclimated to a classroom environment the year prior to going to VPK. So we started with 3 half days for preschool. When I originally started looking for a preschool for my first son I went to a few very well-known local facilities and was not impressed at all. Each time I walked into the facilities I would just stand and listen to how the teachers were interacting with the children and how the children were playing until someone noticed i was in the facility and then I would ask for a tour. I was never happy with what I heard or saw. When I visited Holy Cross I walked in and just sat and listened I did not hear any children getting yelled at the place seemed very clean the teachers were interacting with the kids respectfully and the children seemed like they were having fun. Another reason why I like this facility is because it's smaller and the teachers and director are women who are a little bit older that are well seasoned and not like the typical younger people who like to be on their phones and not watch the children. I've had all three of my boys attend their preschool program and their VPK programs and I absolutely would recommend this place to everybody. If you're looking for a place that has smaller ratio teacher/child, well seasoned teachers and a clean Facility this places for you. Also the prices are very reasonable if that is a factor in finding the right facility for you.
