He also trashed all the other schools saying how bad they were, how bad their kits are, the list goes on and on. I signed up for microblading. I thought the kit was good. I brought my best friend in to be model. The teacher was very rushed through the entire course while the whole time my class was very small. We were let out an hour early on day 1. The teacher was "supervising" me while I was making strokes in my best friend's eyebrows. The teacher did not listen to my friend when she was very specific as to the shape she wanted. The teacher totally ignored her and made me do a totally different shape. She would come by and tell me add a stroke here, add one here and another one here. When the treatment was complete my best friend was mortified. To be honest so was I when I saw her face. The teacher had stepped in and added some strokes making her eyebrows closer together and larger thinking that it would satisfy her. Not being an outspoken person she asked the teacher to stop for now and left quietly. The teacher assured her that the strokes she did not like would fade quickly and that she would fix it for her if she did not like the results after 2 weeks. I don't know how this would be possible. My best friend and I went to see a professional that night who informed us that it would not fade and she needed to use a corrector serum right away and remove the unwanted strokes. A lot of pain and $250 later the unwanted strokes were removed. I had to pay for her. The professional fixed the brow shape also. I showed her the kit and she said it was nothing special. . As for my best friend, it took a bit of time for her eyebrows to heal but she is fine now. I learned more watching and listening to someone else as she was fixing the eyebrows instead of an entire class. I have since watched a ton of YouTube videos and completed treatments on 3 other people who were very satisfied with their brows. I asked the school for a refund and they instead offered me additional practice. They refused to refund me any money. Do not goto this school!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our appointment was at 1pm, my mother received someone and I received someone. I would say both of our students had no idea what they were doing. By 4pm, our hair wasn't cut and the student was waiting for the Instructor to come and rescue. When mine was done.... I dunno I received I guess the most disingenuous comment "Oh! Your hair looks so nice!" Let me be clear, when you hear that 4 time and girls following one another saying it's so beautiful you realized they were trained in school to say that on auto pilot. My mom was the last victim, the hair cut did not match her picture. She wanted a cute pixie with bangs, it looked like Ellen DeGeneres instead with no bangs-also done by the instructor. Also followed by a stream of students saying the same compliment-occasionally some asking to wash their hair while they wait to close up. So we were stuck in our seats for 3hours each- our hair cut by the instructor. For a paid cut, I mean if you are ready to lose a whole day, it's pretty cheap. Just be ready to wait 3hrs-no less than that. Marca College has been a back up option that my mom was once amused watching and learning the cutting style- but to be the first one in and the last one out- she felt zero-ed out as the neglected customer for a paid cut.

I booked a 1:30 PM appointment and arrived early to check in at 1:15 PM to give the student extra time if needed. When I returned at 1:30 PM, there was no one at the front desk. I eventually found the receptionist in the back, who told me the stylist was still at lunch. I explained I had a 5:30 PM meeting and needed to leave on time today. She said she would ask the instructor. The stylist arrived around 10 minutes late with no awareness of my time constraints, and I had to repeat everything again. Nathaniel, my student stylist, was warm and kind throughout the appointment. I was very clear during the consultation that I wanted one even colour--essentially the same brown I already had, maybe slightly lighter since I had some washed-up browns. The instructor initially mentioned that "coloured hair cannot be lifted unless we use bleach," in which I understood and reiterated that we can keep it the same brown. She described it to the student stylist as "basically just a root touch-up and toner for the bottom half." During the consultation, she also asked if I was okay with "a bit of red" in the sun, and I said yes. At no point did I ask for black hair. Another student later asked Nathaniel, "What brown is this? Chocolate brown?" and he responded that they were matching the brown I already had. After the colour was rinsed, I overheard Nathaniel asking the instructor if he should just blow-dry my hair after washing it, which confused me because my treatment seemed forgotten. When I asked about it, the instructor initially told me my package only included colour and a cut. After I pushed back, she checked and confirmed with the student that the treatment was included, but never acknowledged the mistake to me directly. When my hair was finished, it was completely black, with dye left on my forehead. The student assured me that it would look more brown when it's dry. When I raised my concerns about the colour, the instructor insisted she had confirmed I wanted "one colour for the whole hair", which she interpreted as black? Nathaniel directly clarified that I had wanted brown. Despite this, the instructor escalated her tone and continued insisting she had confirmed the consultation correctly. The discussion went in circles for about 10 minutes before she stated there was "literally nothing" she could do. What upset me most was that both Nathaniel and another student stylist understood I wanted brown hair, yet the final result was black. I became extremely emotional because I could not understand how a simple brown colour became a full colour change I never requested. At the end, the school manager offered 50% off a future lightening service, a $40 head spa coupon, and a small treatment sample. While I appreciate the effort, it was difficult to accept a resolution that required me to spend more money at the same establishment to correct the mistake. Nathaniel was exceptional throughout this experience--humble, compassionate, empathetic, and willing to advocate for his client when his instructor would not. The manager also genuinely tried to help. However, while this is a school, the error itself came from the instructor's consultation and communication, not from the student stylist. That is what makes this experience so disappointing. Eikonic is capable of much better, and I hope this feedback is taken seriously.

I purchased a package off DealTicker: $24 for a haircut, wash, blow dry, style, deep conditioning…read moretreatment and full colour or highlights. I frequent hair schools because I've had great experiences in the past, but my entire experience at Design 8000 was disappointing to say the least. Upon entering, I spent a good fifteen minutes trying to explain to the receptionist/instructor (who seemed to barely understand English) and a stylist what I was there for and what I wanted. At the time, my hair was dyed blonde with my dark roots peeking out. I didn't ask for much -- just that it be coloured to match my roots as best as possible. Both of them consulted ME on which colour it should be. Hello, are you a hairdresser? Do you have eyes? This is your supposed field of expertise, not mine. The whole time I was there, the stylists (who also barely understood English) were making rude gestures and seemingly shit-talking the instructor, and the instructor expected them to know all these things without ever teaching them. Disgustingly unprofessional. It was as if the girl doing my hair had never done anyone's hair before. It took her a good 20 minutes to figure out how to mix the colour and then she didn't know how to apply it (I could've done it myself at home for $10). I asked for my split ends to be cut (again, basic hair school knowledge) and neither the instructor nor the stylist knew how much should come off. So I left without my haircut at all. *sigh* The shampoo and conditioner used on my hair was terrible, and there was no deep conditioning treatment. Much lower than "salon" quality. They destroyed my hair and made it impossible to get a brush through my long wavy locks. The best part was being recommended to purchase a good conditioner and use it at home regularly. HA! I use Aveda products that retail for $30 per bottle and NEVER have issues brushing my hair. The colour turned out pretty badly. The shade was lighter than what I wanted, and I could still see blonde in some parts. I purchased multiple vouchers, thinking I could save big on my hair for a year, but you couldn't pay me to go back. Worst experience at a salon ever!

I was super lucky because I called them before purchase. I actually just wanted to buy a haircut and style package but only did a blow dry since I didn't trust them base on the price. I called them to make an appointment. The lady on phone asked me to pay them in store instead of buying from groupon. She asked me to give her $17. That's so ridiculous! The price online is $14 and today I can get an extra 20% off, so it's 11 something in total. So I refused her and said I prefer to buy this online. And then I can't believe she started to yell at me!!! Super rude and crazy, reminded me of Haward's mom in BBT. It's my first review on Yelp coz she scared me:((
