Mrs. Lynnea is amazing at coaching! She is so sweet, so patient, and knows all the ways to make swimming fun!! I started with one trial class and instantly booked her for more! I love that she wasn't afraid to push my daughter further, she was doing so well with holding her breath we started to do some techniques from the upper classes. The next summer we started my son as well, and I'm just blown away with her skills! She's always one time, gets started right away, and my kids never want her to leave! I highly recommend Passion for Splashin!!

Lynnea is nothing short of the best. She loves the kids she teaches like her own. My 2 year old granddaughter has learned so much. Lynnea is patient and understanding to their needs. There's no one like her.

What started as a positive and enjoyable experience gradually became more challenging for him. He began to struggle--regressing at times, crying during lessons, and frequently reaching for us for comfort. At one point, we were asked to step inside to help him focus without distraction. It was heartbreaking to see how difficult it had become for him, and after some tough weekends, we were close to giving up. However, Rene, Dave and their team encouraged us to stay consistent and trust the process. We took their advice, and within a couple of weeks, everything changed, he began enjoying the water again. Now, at almost 2 years old, he's moved up to the beginner level. He gets so excited that we have to remind him to walk around the pool instead of running in! Watching him progress, splash, kick, and make friends has made weekends fun again. Rene, Dave, and their team are incredible coaches who truly care. They didn't give up on our son and made sure we didn't either. I highly recommend RSL--they are knowledgeable, experienced, and genuinely want the best for every child. I've seen similar experiences with other kids, and my advice is the same: trust the process. The team is not only highly trained but also warm and welcoming--we've even found two babysitters there whom our son absolutely loves!

Things I liked: Your child will SWIM. I think my kids legs…read morefelt like rubber the first day because the philosophy here in both the intermediate and advanced is to just keep swimming! The pool is huge and the instructors send them back and forth over and over! Endurance seems to be the main philosophy. Some of the instructors are very engaging, overall everyone is pretty friendly! Things I noticed Safety is not a huge priority. There is no one on deck keeping an eye out for things the instructors may miss. The first day of class, and multiple after, my kids instructor walked into the building telling the other instructor of the other class to "keep an eye" to which he just kind of laughed and went back to the class he was teaching. Meanwhile she had 4 swimmers in the pool in other lanes behind and the instructor of the other class was faced away from them the entire time. That was my 7 year olds first or second day in the class. I had seen this sort of thing a lot, their instructor would chat with a students mom who was seated in the upper level, she'd face away from the students and just chat. By the 4th class I was ready to let the office know, but then the owner came outside, and held a conversation with the instructor the same way, her back away from the swimmers. My swimmer had been introduced to all of the strokes but I enrolled him to improve his form. He'd taken other classes where there was an emphasis on that. What I found is that there is very little instruction in the advanced class, the students are sent on back and forth several times but only upon request will they be critiqued or given better techniques. It is more like someone standing there somewhat keeping an eye on them and telling them to swim 400 or what not. At one point they had the owner, and at another, her husband and like I mentioned at another point, the other instructor in the other class, "take over" with instructions like "they're doing kickbaord" or "have them do bla" They are not very organized. First day of class the instructor was 5 minutes late. After that the advanced class had multiple people take over. The intermediate class had a lot more consistency, but one of the days Alexis (she did a great job) had to ask the owners husband where her secondary was. She came out a few minutes later , while the class was sorta on hold Things I'm not sure on: The young kids aren't taught to rest float. I've liked other places teach this, in the case that the child knows how to swim but doesn't have energy to get back to shore, or the edge of a pool for whatever reason. I once almost drowned as a kid in a pool right in the middle, I had slowly but surely run out of energy and not noticed til I couldn't keep my head above water. My brother pushed me to the edge. That being said, the rest float is a hard position to get into, so I kinda understand why they don't teach it‍ Overall, i think my kids are stronger swimmers and I'd possibly come back next summer since I trust my kids and I'm keeping an eye the entire time. Its $35 for 30 minutes (so 8 classes comes out to $280) Alexis was very encouraging in the intermediate class and each of the intermediate instructors really pushed the kids, and encouraged them, which I really appreciated:) oh and one more thing, I loved that at the intermediate level, there are two instructors to 4 students! That's a really nice ratio

This is a review of the City Swim lessons offered at this facility…read more My kids ages 6 and 4 now have been taking summer classes here since they were 6mos old. We are not local residents and actually live 2 towns over, but we make the drive for how consistent the classes are. They are also a great value, when you compare it to other places (YMCA). Mommy and Me classes are basic: nursery rhyme singing, blowing bubbles, floating, kicking etc. Great introduction for tots and babies. The value really is in familiarizing the kids with water. (I only saw the value recently, now that my kids are older and accustomed to swimming with instructors etc). We did private swim, one week for $99 (M-F 30mins sessions each day. One on one with a swim instructor) two summers ago, and we saw a BIG improvement in our son's performance. He had learned ice scream scoops and kicking well. Good knowledge base at 4.5 years old, but still needed close supervision while in the pool. Last summer, we invested in two weeks of private swim per child, and it was very expensive but worth every cent. The two weeks really reinforced technique and now my son is a confident swimmer. My daughter has a great foundation, and perhapds this summer she will master it as well. I saw the most progress in private swim since the attention is fully on the child and not split amongst multiple kids. All the instructors have been wonderful, knowledgeable, patient, and work well with kids.

I can't thank Ms. Evelyn from Waterwings enough! She is such a patient, fun, and loving coach…read more Because of a medical condition, my daughter had never put her head under water -- not even during bath time -- for the past five and a half years. We finally had her tracheostomy closed this February, and in March, I signed her up for swim lessons at Waterwings. My daughter has always loved playing in the water but was terrified to put her head in. Ms. Evelyn made every class fun, safe, and full of encouragement. She took her time to help Jade feel comfortable and slowly built such a trusting relationship with her. Thanks to Ms. Evelyn's patience and creative teaching, Jade has become so confident in the water! She absolutely loves her swim lessons and even wishes she could go every day. Now, Jade takes private lessons three times a week with Ms. Evelyn, and her swimming skills have improved so much -- it's amazing to see how far she's come! I truly can't thank Ms. Evelyn enough for everything she's done for Jade. We're so grateful for Waterwings and all the wonderful coaches there. My son also took lessons here with Coach Cole and now swims with the SD Aquatics swim team. We love Waterwings and highly recommend it to anyone looking for caring, experienced, and fun swim instructors! ‍

A Life-Changing Experience for My Kids -- and for Me!…read more Before coming here, my 3 1/2-year-old was terrified of the water. He clung to me for dear life, too scared to let go--even though I could see that deep down, he wanted to enjoy it. My 2-year-old was just starting his water journey too, and I honestly didn't know what to expect. Fast forward to today, and I have literally shed tears of joy watching how much they've grown, both in skill and confidence. Every single instructor here is phenomenal, but I have to give a very special shout-out to Miss Rose -- my son's instructor and a true gem. She is playful, warm, nurturing, and simply magical with kids. The way she connects with my son is so genuine. Her energy, patience, and skill have transformed his fear into excitement. He now looks forward to swimming and, most importantly, believes in himself in the water. As a parent, sometimes you just need that special third person outside the family to help guide your child -- and for us, that person has been Rose. I'm endlessly grateful for her. She's made a lasting impact on our family, and I truly couldn't have done this without her. Thank you, Rose, and thank you to the entire amazing staff. You've created something truly special here. I'm beyond happy we found this place
