The highlight for our meal was the waiter. He was crazy! He ran around frantically and we could hear him yelling in the back. We were tired after a very long day and he provided most of the entertainment during the meal. He also left right before we paid the bill. We were finished with the meal but before we paid, we watched him walk out with his backpack. I ordered the spaghetti con bacon. So honestly, I came here out of desperation! The L'Place restaurant we were planning to go seemed to have been closed down, and the 3 of us were getting to that hangry stage, when my friend Danielle spotted this place and woot - they had available tables, so lucked out in that respect. BTW, the coat hangers for this place are right above the heater, and so our coats were warm and toasty when we went to put them out and head back into the cold! #the little things. Staff was super friendly and when I went to the loos, it was right by the open kitchen and the chefs waved at me and said Hi, which I thought was a nice touch Also their hype about freshly made pasta is absolutely true, as from where I sat, I had vantage view of them churning out two types of tagliatelle pasta (one regular and the other spinach). Also if in the mood for a pizza, the focaccia makes a decent substitute. BTW, there's no table water and you gave to purchase a bottle. So between the 3 of us, we ordered the following items: 1) Rucola Foccacia - got this as an entree to share and it was quite filling honestly and also very carb laden with dense, chewy bread. Good amount of toppings. 2) Piazza Salad - loved the crunch of the almond pieces and the bacon used was really delicious. Recommend. 3) Tagliatelle Mediterraneano - Was in a bright tomato base, with good amount of roasted vegetables. Very earthy and robust. 4) Tagliatelle Salmone - lovely creamy sauce and generous amount of salmon. Sauce ate very light, and this dish was a favorite of all at the table We ended up taking some of the pasta leftovers home - it was too much food for us. New on the horizon, Pasta Factory brings a trendy interior with lively atmosphere to the center of the city. As if the Italian cuisine options in the city weren't enough already, now you have another cheap but quality restaurant at your disposal. In a group of 5, we decided to try out Pasta Factory for a pre-movie dinner. Even though it is located in one of the most busy parts of the city, it was easy to find seating for our group close to the bar. The noise was surprisingly low, and the vibe was a cross between Wok To Walk and any other fancy sit-down restaurant, which means the traffic was fast and yet people seemed to be enjoying great dinner conversation. I ordered a bruschetta starter followed by a focaccia 'pizza' with various veggies. Even though the food took a bit of time to arrive, it was every bit delicious and carefully prepared. Like most local restaurants, tap water was not up for offer, but the drinks were decently priced. Considering the location, prices were on the cheaper side. The best thing about Pasta Factory other than the food is the well-planned interior that works great for groups as well as for intimate conversations. Got tempted to try it since it said it's homemade pasta. I ordered the 4 cheese pasta and I can say it was alright nothing special. The pasta was bit dry and I had to add lemon and chili to make it better. The waiter is very friendly and welcoming. I first went in this small restaurant because I was attracted by the decor inside. They rollers all over the wall, and outside there was a sign that said "from 7 euros!!", so it obviously got me! The food is good enough, they make good and fresh pasta. The prices are great, and you get pretty much what you pay for. Decent food & you have no surprises here. It's always delicious and service is fast (it gets busy super fast). It's a very small place so you might be rubbing elbows if you sit by the couch, sit by the window if you can! If you sit on the big tables, be prepared to share it with another group of people! It's great to grab a quick dinner with a friend or after you went shopping with your date (it's a loud place so I don't recommend it for a romantic dinner) read more

The Pasta Factory has a "homey" feel to it so you feel like you're right at home eating dinner. The pasta I ordered was pretty decent; nothing special about it. They seem to have issues with their WiFi, but I think they tell all their customers that so they're not bothered every 5 minutes by people asking for their WiFi password. read more

The reason I am a fan of this place is that if you are in a hurry and on a tight budget, they serve you fast and quite cheap. Don't expet fancy heaven delicious food, of course you get what you pay for. But you can expect a decent homemade pasta, with good sauces and nice taste. I'd say this is a near perfect restaurante for the tourists that want to eat reasonably good and pay less money for it. It has a nice colorful interior (which actually from the outside looks you wouldn't say), the staff is friendly and serve you well. And as I mentioned above, it is homemade pasta, you can see them working on it. I'm a sucker for Italian food. Maybe it's the childhood memories of authentic Italian food made with fresh ingredients or maybe it's just that I love mushy yet chewy textures. Either way, I love it and I especially love it when I can get some decent Italian food for little money and without traveling much for it which is why I love the Pasta Factory. So we tried the focaccia quattro formaggi and the spaghetti with meatballs and they were both good. The focaccia quattro formaggi is just like a 4 cheese pizza but instead of pizza dough, you get a focaccia, a type of Italian bread. I really liked this because of the delicious mushiness of the focaccia and the cheese... I mean, this is the Netherlands; the land of flavorful cheeses. The spaghetti was both a minor letdown as well as a pleasant surprise. The sauce was just like an Italian tomato sauce ought to be; light and flavorfully aromatic and not strong and pungent. The first bite I took was a bit too al dente but they thought about that and I'm happy it was! Why's that? Well, the pasta I received was still very hot, by the time I coiled some spaghetti around my fork, using only my fork on the side of my dish as is the true Italian way, for my second bite, the pasta was perfectly cooked because of its own residual heat. The sauce and pasta were perfect but my meatballs... let me rephrase that, the meatballs in my pasta however, were very small and some of them slightly overcooked and all of them just a bit too dense for my liking. When I saw the menu, I thought I would get 3 rather large meatballs soaked in tomato sauce on top of my spaghetti but instead I got all these tiny balls on my plate (there's no better way to phrase this, really). Italian meatballs should be fluffy and give you the illusion of lightness because of their soft fluffiness rather than tiny bouncy meatballs. In all fairness though, they weren't bad, at all. The flavor was OK. It's just that I'm a bit anal when it comes to balls (there was definitely a better way to phrase that)! I will definitely be returning to this place to try the cream based funghi pasta! read more

On our way to another fun Yelp event, we had our mind set on pasta. Well I did anyway. This place doesn't seem to draw a lot of attention. I've past Pasta Factory a zillion times and never aknowledged its existence. You have to admit, it is not an attractive name: "Ooh looking forward to eat at the factory" no woman ever said. But you also have to admit (once visited) the pasta is simple and nice. Ok too generous on the bacon, but then again, i'd be whining if I had to gather a search party to find the missing pieces of bacon. The waitresses were efficient and adequate but it's not the kinda place you hang out and talk for hours with friends, or lovers (gawd no...) whilst other guests are waiting to be seated, preferably at your table. They would probably be less friendly yet determined to kick your talkative butt out. So take into account you'll be out in 30-45 min after you sat down. So was it the best pasta I ever had? Nope. But for a factory they do serve a nice home made (?) spaghetti for a decent price. We had a bruchetta & a salad, and spaghetti and 2 soft drinks. I came here with low expectations. Needed a place to grab a bite to eat before watching a flick next door. I'm happy to say this place is good! I shared a gorgonzola salad and a pasta bolognese with my bf. We both enjoyed it. The salad was a good size that came with 2 pieces of bread and the pasta noodles were tasty! Their spagetti noodles are bigger and rounder, tasted home made! Maybe it is, i'm not sure but it tasted yummy! Prices are also respectable. Whenever I need a quick bite to eat when i'm in this area, This will definitely be one of my options. I'm happy I gave this place a chance. I'd categorize it as a good crowd pleaser. Don't get me started. This was the absolute worst pasta restaurant I've ever been to. The food was definitely not "homemade". I ordered the garlic and oil pasta and it was super dry and crunchy, absolutely no olive oil on it. It tasted bitter and had no seasoning. We also ordered the tomato soup (which they forgot to bring for 20 minutes) and it tasted like V8 heated up. I'm highly disappointed in this place since it's suppose to be "homemade". Also, the cooks were on their phone the whole time which is probably why they forgot part of our order. And we had to keep reminding the waitress about what we ordered. I didn't like the customer service and I didn't like the food. I don't recommend this place, you're better off going to the grocery store. read more
