The glass display case is filled with beautiful pastries, cookies, slices of cakes along with sandwiches and mini pizzas .We ordered a ham and cheese sandwich and two americanos (American style coffee). If I could rate just the food it would be a solid 5 stars (I'm sure it helps that we were SO hungry!) Chocolate rapture In…read morethe main part if the old city in Brunico, in the old village, there is the unassuming storefront of Archerer. I stopped here because the wind was blowing right through my jacket and wanted to just take a break. I found a pot of gold, except the gold is chocolate. Like a kid filled with wonder I gazed through the pristine glass at the confections laying beyond. This was no mall-storefront candy shop. The sheen of light on the surface of these creations was suitable for a new car showroom. I settled on a mound of chocolate with a little raspberry on top, a double chocolate mousse with chocolate coating. I chose to eat it in the store. I was led to the back where the elderly master confectioner provided me a plate, a napkin, my offering, and then promptly disappeared to give us some privacy. I almost didn't want to disturb the perfection of it, but this had to be done. My fork hit the outside, and slowly sank into it, until slicing through to reveal the Chocolate mousse, soft and giving under it's outer blanket, the coolness leaving it as the warmth in my mouth melted it into an ecstatic flow of chocolatey love. Inside: Fluffy clouds, Light as a feather but providing absolute rapture of the tastebuds. It coated my entire tongue with sheer theobromatic bliss Like the dream you have when you're about to have a piece of ..."fun", shall we say, this one seemed over too quickly and left me craving more. I started to ask for another offerinf, my this time I was done. I had to be. Too much on an empty stomach might ruin me for the day. So I paid my €4 and left, took the bus home, and wrote this review. The faintest taste of it still lingers on my lips, much like a good lover's kiss. Will I return? Absolutely. This is a "secret weapon" place to take a date. The open, yet perfectly secluded seating makes it a great exclusive spot you can share a sweet treat with your date and will likely ensure that the "after date" time goes highly in your favor.
