While walking around La Croisette after a morning at the perfumeries, we came across this busy restaurant and decided to go in and give it a go. Boy are we glad we did! We sat at a table just inside the doors that opened out onto the small street. We are immediately greeted by a cheerful lady from the back of the restaurant who motions for us to take a seat anywhere. It was quite busy and opened late for lunch as most establishments only open from around 12-2pm, so we lucked out, showing up at 1:30pm. We ordered our Cafe Americain, I had the sea bass and husby had the leg of lamb confit. If you want bread, you have to ask for it and it comes in a paper bag of three pieces, yummy pieces that is! Husby's Lamb arrives first with a large side bowl of mash and gravy and it is delicious fall off the bone good! My sea bass arrives and I am surprised that it is a whole fish, head, eyeballs and all! It is stuffed with herbs and butter but watch the bones! The skin is super crisp so eat it! It's good for you right?? The vegetables are roasted perfectly and lightly seasoned, as for the rice, a slight after thought, but still flavoured with oil oil. If you're looking for comfort food home style cooking, this is the place! The maître d lady is wonderful and the staff attentive, all spoke some broken English too, but French does help! read more

Enjoyed dinner here after a long flight from the States. Had the beef tartare which was generous in size and deliciously seasoned. Salad and fries were a nice accompaniment. Got the sense that locals frequent here. Sat inside but with the doors open, enjoyed the lovely breeze. Great service too. read more

This place doesn't deserve to be banking on the Pastis brand name. Food was mediocre at best. The service is not just unfriendly but openly contemptuous. Lots of better options in the area! read more

This restaurant is an institution, and honestly, the food is really good. The artichoke raviole and the truffle gnocchi are really good. ++ for the kitchen. The downsize...which ruins your entire experience..is the service. Tables that arrived after us and that ordered way after us, were served before us....we finally asked for an update "Yes I will check"#nevercameback I honestly believe there were no servers...we stayed like a hour before actually asking for the dessert menu...no one came up to us...if you don't want me to spend my money here...just say it. How is it that the customer has to run after the server to be served... Unless you change your service we won't come back. (We are locals...no tourists that you think you can just treat like crap). read more

Noisy and quite busy so don't expect prompt service. My starters of Casear salad and charcuterie was fair but the kick in the ass was when the wine that I ordered was not the same wine. As I informed the waiter he shouted that it was the same. Well it was the same producer but it was a wine that was HALF the price. I informed the man that I'm a wine professional and to take that bottle away. If you think they weren't going to charge me full price I've got a bridge in Brooklyn I'd like to sell to you. My veal was over cooked and dry and a condiment I asked for never delivered. I'm in the restaurant business and I can't recall a more offensive dining experience. The food is great, the restaurant is small and authentic, rustic. Very nice. The service is horrible. One specific waiter actually chased me into the street because....I suppose, his though his tip was inadequate. We literally sat and waited for a hour and a half for our entrees, no updates, no communications, no nothing, and he had nothing but smart-assed comments to our table. When the check came, he stood there as he suggested what kind of tip I was supposed to leave him. I had to ask him to leave! I recommend that you go, it's great...just be aware of the Indian looking waiter, he's kind of a jerk. read more

Stumbled across this place while exploring central Cannes. I must say the food is amazing and by far the best pasta I have had in Cannes !!! Had to come back here a second time for the penne a larabiatta !!! Out of this world !!!! The staff was extremely helpful and helped to translate the menu since it is in French . This little gem never fails to deliver. The food is simple, fresh and excellent. Steaks, grilled fish, stews, pasta and more, all done incredibly well. A great room, with lovely wooden floors a long bar running along one wall and simple tables and chairs gives it a warm and comforting feeling. Great service, and a wonderful wine list make this a must do if ever in Cannes. read more

Simply prepared true to tradition, roasted deep crackling brown with Poivre Sauce, Crispy hot Pommes Frites and a perfectly dressed mesclun "green" salad .
